Description
Many Android users have lost the ability to install the Eon Altar app from Google Play. The reason is "The phone app is no longer supported", but without this app, it is impossible to play the game.
How I solved the problem
I don’t know if this will help everyone or only for certain versions of android, but I managed to download applications to an older version of android and copy them to another phone that allegedly no longer supports this application. And lo and behold, everything works. At the time of writing the guide, 17 hours have been played, the application connects to the game no worse than on a supported phone and does not crash. I didn't notice any problems.
Instruction
You can do the same manipulations yourself, but for those who do not have such an opportunity, I will provide an application and a cache for Eon Altar.

Download [drive.google.com]

Install the app and unzip the cache along the path android/obb

The full path should look like this - android/obb/com.FlyingHelmetGames.EonAltarProd/main.106.com.FlyingHelmetGames.EonAltarProd.obb

Maybe Android 15 removed support for older apps that are no longer updated, if so you probably won't be able to run the app. You either need a phone with an older version of Android or an emulator of an older Android. Unfortunately that's all I can guess, I'm not the creator of the app, I just shared it. :br_sad:

You need to unzip the com.FlyingHelmetGames.zip file into the android/obb/ folder. Just make sure that the name of the unzipped folder is com.FlyingHelmetGames.EonAltarProd and that it contains the main.106.com.FlyingHelmetGames.EonAltarProd.obb file.

how do I get the file to extract along the correct path? I downloaded the app and cache to my laptop and transferred to the downloads section on my phone. after extracting i opened the app and it worked until it needed the files from the cache.

On Android 15 I can't install the app, it just says "App is not installed as app isn't compatible with your device"

Fair enough. But at least there's a confirmation from somebody else now. If people have a chance to copy the files from their own replaced phones, this still is the best option, of course.

Thank you for checking the files and writing about it. But I think that those who don't know you will treat your words with the same distrust as you initially treated mine. :)

Thanks for creating this guide. Honestly, I don't trust files provided through Google Drive. So I grabbed my long retired old Anroid 4 phone from my storage, loaded the battery, booted it for the first time in years and found the files you uploaded. I downloaded them and binary compared them to the versions you have provided. They're 100% identical. So I can hereby confirm that these are the original files. Just in case anybody wonders, here are the SHA-256 checksums:

I copied the .obb file to the Android folder of my current phone (Android 10) as described and manually installed the .apk file using the Files app. It worked flawlessly and I can now play Eon Altar with my new phone again.

Now I came here to say thanks for the idea and description how to do this. :104:

Thanks to all! Unfortunately, I have never had an iPhone, I only use Android phones, so I can’t tell you how to solve this problem on an iPhone.

any thoughts or solutions for Iphone?

iPhone suggestions? I’m guessing the lack of an open store will make this take hard. If the developer wants to give me access to the repo, I’ll try to get a release out for us
