All about the Koschei Complex in DMZ

Detailed information on how to get to the special complex of Koshchei, how different entrances affect further sectors, into which sectors this zone can be divided, and what is in each of them.

Entrance to the Complex
Koschei Complex is a special map for DMZ mode.

Unlike al Mazrah, Ashika Island, or Building 21, it cannot be accessed directly from the menu.

To do this, you must first get to the al Mazrah map, and then choose one of the four possible entrances. Three of these entrances have a special question mark on the general map:
  1. Under the bridge in the north of the map


  2. In the underground parking lot in the city of al Mazrah


  3. In the underground passage of the Rohan oil depot


  4. Secret entrance in the ruins, next to the oasis


To activate the transition, you need to get to the airtight doors and interact with them:
  • If all players from the team are not in the room, a 30-second countdown will begin.
  • If everyone from the team is in the room, then a 5-second countdown will start.

After that, the game will offer to hold the mouse wheel (default setting) to confirm the transition.

The character will receive an additional 2500 XP for moving to the new special location, and the game will begin the long process of finding players and loading them. Everything the player has in their backpack will be transferred to Koshchei's complex.

Tip:
during loading (when you see the inscription Koschei's Complex), using the urgent exit from the game (Alt+F4) and returning to the game, the player will have all the items that were in his backpack (except for the weapon case) from the beginning of the next match, but he will not receive progress on his token and successful evacuations

Depending on which entrance the player(s) chose, they will be presented with a challenge in one of four sectors:
  • A1 — entrance from the Rohan oil depot
  • A2 — secret entrance from the ruins
  • B1 — entrance from under the bridge
  • B2 — entrance from the city parking lot
The map was taken from the WarzoneTacmap site[warzonetacmap.online], but was expanded and supplemented manually, because the admin is a lazy ass
Sector A1 (cartel)
  • Players will find a large number of cartel bots, most of which are of the third level (T3), as well as 3 turrets
  • To enter the dark zone, players need to find the car battery and cables near the exit, connect them to the switch and press the button
  • The battery and cables are always relatively close and placed separately (not in chests or bags)
  • Red dots indicate the location of the turrets and which direction they are pointed. They can be safely destroyed from the side or behind



Sector A2 (radioactive)
To get through this section, you need to pass through 3 sub-sectors that contain radioactive dust. In order to move on, you need to close the hermetic seal that will block the leakage of this dust
  • In the first sub-sector, just press the buttons on the remote control
  • In the second, there are also buttons, but this time the al-Qatala bots will interfere
  • In the third — al-Qatala bots, a turret, and the air locks will have to be closed manually
In the second and third sub-sectors (namely, in the locked rooms) you can find special keys «Defense Research Div Exit Key (A/B)».

With their help, you can open the yellow hermetic seal to open a secret passage to the Factory, bypassing the «dark zone» (Chemical Plant)



Sector B1 (flooded)
We strongly advise you to find an rebreather or scuba gas mask in advance if you are interested in an alternative way out of the sector

A large part of this sector will be flooded, but there will always be enough space in the corridor to breathe in.

In the second mined sub-sector, you can find planks that can be destroyed with any explosives to open access to the second key, as well as the weapon module.

Without an rebreather, finding this key is quite difficult and there is a high probability that the character will simply drown.

In the non-flooded sections, you can find several cartel bots (T3).



Sector B2 (al-Qatala)
The task here is the same as in Sector A1 — to find a battery and cable near the exit to open the airlock.

Instead of cartel bots, there will be al-Qatala fighters — T1, T3 and the usual turrets

The location of the turrets and their view are marked in red.



Chemical plant (dark zone)
Before going to the central location of the complex, we strongly recommend that you find a night vision goggle (NVG) in the sector. There are several of them in the sector, and they also take their own cell in the backpack.

Using a NVG will greatly simplify the movement around the dark complex, but the character will not be able to aim in the usual way, and the device will neutralize the effect of the ultraviolet camera.

As soon as any team presses the button to open the airlock, a special siren will sound, which will be heard by everyone in the chemical plant. This way, the first team can find out who is trying to get in and from which side.

If you wish, you can get from the dark zone to any other zone by pressing the button next to the corresponding exit. If the enemy team remains there, they will receive a corresponding sound signal about the opening of the door.

Teams from sectors A2 and B1 can go straight to the Factory in the north of the map, ignoring the usual exits - if they find two special keys in their sector

The chemical plant is guarded by T3 al-Qatala bots, so if they suddenly encounter cartel bots, they will start shooting.

  • In the north is the Factory (doors D1 and D2), which can be accessed by finding one of the two «Factory Keys» located in the ventilation shafts

  • In the south is the Alpha Cluster (doors C1 and C2), which can only be opened by inserting the battery and cables into the appropriate panel

    • If none of you have the battery and cables, but you really want to get to the Alpha cluster, open the airlocks A1 and B2 to get these items from there. Beware of bots and potential players there.

Sector C (Alpha cluster)
In order to get here, you need to insert the missing battery and cable into the electrical panel, and then press the button next to the airtight seal. Both paths C1 and C2 lead to the same place, but the corridors are slightly different and one has its own turret around the corner.

At the end of the long corridor, the team will find a fairly spacious location with several important map elements:
  • Container with server tapes
  • The door of the second level of access (L2)
  • Special door with a code
  • Secret door with the archive
The server tape containers contain server tapes, as well as boards of various types. They can be sold and exchanged for some valuable items in the Factory at the buy station.

The L2 doors are opened with a special key card (L2) — they open access to certain corridors that contain some valuable loot, but most importantly, they provide an additional point of exfil.

Please note that opening the door of the L2 department will create a new evacuation point that will be visible to all players on the map — including the enemy team

A special door with a code is located in the south of the cluster and is guarded by powerful T3 bots and two turrets. To open it, you need to keep a three-digit code. This secret consists of three steps:
  1. you need to find an ultraviolet camera - it is located in the warehouse in the central area and replaces tactical equipment
  2. use this camera to find out the code letters next to the door
  3. also use the camera to find diagrams on the boards, among which the desired letter associated with a certain number may be hidden

Please note that this can simplify the process of opening the door - each letter has its own unique number, so if you don't have the time to look for the third one, just guess it and go through the remaining options


    All boards are located in the Alpha cluster and in the following locations (corresponding wall sections are marked in red)

As a reward, the player will receive:
  • several legendary chests
  • other valuable items (gold bar, gold skull, vintage wine)
  • a diamond drill (with which you can open a special safe in the Factory)
  • detail of a special weapon blueprint

    You need to find 3 al-Qatala laptops in the Koshchei complex
    There are no more than 2 in each sector, so you will either have to break into other sectors or find them in L2 departments
    In the Alpha cluster, connect 3 of these laptops to the wires that are on the "round platforms"
    As soon as 3 laptops are connected, a siren will sound and a special door to the archive on the eastern side of the cluster will open

Inside the archive, you can find several more chests, as well as additional details of the weapon's blueprint

Sector D (Factory)
In the north of the complex is the Factory, which houses:
  • two buy stations — regular and special
  • a double boss — Rhino and Sniper, guarding the case with weapons of the complex

There are 3 ways to get to the factory:

  • Team B1 finds both keys of the flooded sector and opens the special door

  • Team A2 finds both keys of the radiation sector and opens the special door

  • Any team gets to the central sector of the complex, finds 1 of the 2 keys (Factory Admin Key) in the ventilation shafts and opens one of the corridors D1 or D2 guarded by turrets



Once you enter the Factory, you will face bots from both the cartel and al-Qatala, T1 and T3.

When you enter the special room, you will find two purchase stations, one next to the other.

The first one will always be active and offer the following items;
  • Armor plate
  • Ammo box
  • Durable gas mask
  • Self-reanimation kit
  • L2 key card
To open access to a special shopping station, the Shopkeeper will ask you to drop certain items into his cache - just like in the corresponding dead drops at other locations. The list of these required items changes every match.

If you successfully complete this task, all players will have access to a special shop for the rest of the match, offering the above items, some at a discount, as well as the following items:

  • Lab code book
  • Silver server tape
  • Liquid nitrogen
  • Alpha board

Also, these two buying stations offer different items for exchange. The special one also provides three unique items for exchange:

  • Weapon screen
  • Animated emblem
  • Animated calling card

Weapon case

The corresponding case is located in a remote part of the factory, which can be accessed by two slightly different ways:
  • Through the crowd of al-Katala bots (right)
  • With the key that opens the emergency exit (left)
  • With the L2 key card - through the side door (left, not very clear on the map)



In any case, players will have to overcome the double boss in two stages — the Rhino and the Sniper.

First armed with a .50 GS, a ballistic shield on his back, and is able to change weapons to dual kodachis and kill an unwary player in a few hits.

It is an extremely survivable enemy, 10 times more armored than a Juggernaut. There are several relatively easy ways to get rid of him:
  • KV Broadside with a 25-round magazine and incendiary ammunition
  • The aforementioned KV Broadside with the same kit, but with the use of the field modification «Armor Piercing rounds»
  • Kamikaze drone
Important - wait for the message about the start of the boss battle, otherwise you can instantly (with the help of a kamikaze drone) kill the Rhino and softlock the battle with the Sniper

Once you finish off the Rhino, the door to the Sniper boss on the second floor will open. His path is littered with laser-sensing mines, he is constantly guarded by other bots, and he is capable of dealing considerable damage. The most important thing in this stage is to get close to the boss, because he immediately throws a smoke screen and retreats.

Beware of the laser sensors that detonate the extremely powerful C4 — they are very subtle, but emit a distinctive sound. It is much easier to spot them if you use an NVG (if you haven't thrown it away yet).



After successfully killing the Sniper, his weapon will drop, as well as a key that can be used to open the airtight seal next to him.

In that room, there will be several chests with valuable loot, as well as a weapons case. As in all previous cases, as soon as someone picks up this case, everyone on the map (who is left) will be able to track the owner in real time.
