[EASIEST] The Main Attraction Achievement Guide

This guide will help you achieve "The Main Attraction" achievement which has been reported by some to be buggy.

Why you should follow this guide?

• This guide provides the easiest method to unlock the achievement without relying on any mods or cheats.
  
• Following this guide ensures a guaranteed achievement unlock.
  
• The method described in this guide is applicable in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer modes. It has been confirmed to work in the Campaign mode and remains untested in Versus mode.

Prerequisites

To play in multiplayer, you need to have a good internet connection. This is because you'll have to host the game locally (will be described below).

Optional Add-on(s)

If you prefer even easier approach, you can opt to download script mods that enhance the performance of your AI teammates. The advantage of using script mods is that they are server-side modifications, meaning they can also be utilized in multiplayer scenarios. However, considering the earlier statement regarding the reason for following this guide, this option can be disregarded as well.

I will not be promoting which mod you should use. There are plenty of available AI enhancement mods on the workshop. You should select which mod suits you the best.

Getting the Achievement

To get the achievement, you will only need to complete the final chapter of the dark carnival campaign (it is not necessary to finish the campaign altogether).

Creating a lobby

Start by choosing the "Gib Fest" mutation. I personally confirm that this works since I have successfully obtained the achievement using this approach. While some guides mention alternative mutations, "Gib Fest" should provide the easiest as it grants unlimited ammunition for the M60 weapon.

There is another mutation called "RocketDude," which provides unlimited ammo for a grenade launcher without reload animation. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this mutation unlocks this achievement or not. (I should note that "RocketDude" did unlock the "Bridge over trebled slaughter" achievement for me, so it is possible that it will work for this one as well.)



If you are unable to locate the specific mutation in the list, which can be challenging for newer players, you can try adjusting the filters as shown above. Set both filters to "Any" and you should be able to see the mutation in the selection.

Create a Lobby by choosing the "Play with Friends" option. You may set the permission to "Friends Only" if you wish to complete this achievement with a friend, or "Private" if you wish to complete this alone. Choose the last chapter within the Dark Carnival campaign and adjust the difficulty setting to Easy. (Chapter selection may be done in the lobby instead via "Edit Game Settings" option)



Before finalizing your selection, ensure that the server type is set to "Local Server." This step is crucial as it addresses a known issue that bugs out the achievement. Even if you play the chapter without any mutations in a regular manner, selecting the local server option can still allow you to unlock the achievement.

Starting the chapter

There is a common misconception regarding this achievement, suggesting that bots can prevent you from obtaining it. However, the truth is that bots can freely explore the map, and players can still unlock the achievement as long as they remain on the stage until the chopper arrives, regardless of the bots' actions. Therefore, it is advised not to eliminate the bots. In fact, utilizing advanced AI scripts may even assist in completing this chapter more effortlessly.

As usual, turn on the lights on the stage and initiate the music. It is crucial to note that all human players must be present on the stage when starting the music; otherwise, the achievement will be invalidated.

Camp in the rearmost side of the stage (just behind the small platform where health kit usually spawns). This ensures that special infected would not be able to pull you away (Smoker) or steer you out of the stage (Jockey)

Give priority to dealing with the following special infected: Smoker and Jockey. These two special infected, along with the Tank, have the potential to force you to leave the stage. However, with the M60 (or Grenade Launcher if you're playing the RocketDude Mutation), you should have ample firepower to handle them effectively. The M60 is a powerful weapon that enables you to dispatch these special infected with ease.

The achievement will be triggered as soon as the chopper arrives (after defeating two tanks). It is important to note that you do not need to fully complete the chapter in order to unlock the achievement.
