Duct powered steam engines using Fluids Must Flow Mod
By DCYW
My first guide ever made, so bare with me please.

Mods used are
  • Fluids Must Flow
  • NPUtils
  • Exotic Industries Mod
  • Realistic Fusion Power
  • Sebs Electrics Mod
  • Adamo Physics Mod
(too many to name all so main ones are listed).

Pumps are optional if steam is at exceed production.

Steam Engines
Your choice of steam engine blueprints will do, but in my example is in conjunction with NPUtils mod.

The highlighted ducts must be filled with excess steam production otherwise power will not operate.
Pipes and Boiler Connection
Pipes can be vanilla type or modded like NPUtils pipes, where already noted that pumps are optional for looping steam production.

Where as your boilers can be fed manually or automated fed by bots via bus full of fuel. Sorry those boilers are cut off image but underground pipes are connected to the intake duct.

Hot temperatures does produce more pollution and more steam in boilers as heat exchanges,
Duct Storage Mathematics in Fluid Mechanics
Intake Duct = Non-Return Duct = Exhaust Duct = 1.2k of storage.

Refer only with non-return ducts connected is at
1.2k * ( X non-return ducts connected) = Total duct storage .

Larger capacities of steam storage will depend on your design.

If vanilla pipes and pumps are included:
[1.2k * (X ducts connected)] + (200 * X pipes connected ) + (100 * X pumps )
= Total steam storage
.

Less pumps are better, pumps are only for input and outputs so 3 pumps max.
Ducts Input and Outputs
Intake Ducts has 6 inputs and one exhaust while exhaust duct has 6 outputs with single intake and non-return ducts one exhaust with single intake whereas fluid storage will increase by adding 1.2k to your setup design.

Underground pipes are attached to your boilers to begin the steam production, where as fusion/fission/nuclear to create most heat for steam.

You will need more steam input than output for stable steam production because those ducts contains the most storage so make sure to have sufficient steam for this type of game-play.
Duct Design and Power Poles
May vary in your gameplay and mods you play with, meaning this part is the most fun and experimental because your blueprints come in handy with your design.

You can call this duct powered steam engines, if you desired.

Ducts must be placed with power poles and electricity otherwise will not operate.

Power poles with larger coverage will benefit better.

My design somewhat like this in bigger and reactor heated with burners, even though the middle pump is not connected to anything it supposed to be piped there then completes the power production. This image used mods listed on intro.
Conclusion and Happy Blueprinting
I will try to do more power related guides because my aim is to improve on heated power in Factorio.
My Gameplay Style
Fill storage first with steam then blueprint steam engines to complete power production, loop steam production if you need to so depend on your design to keep steam running.

Central power source first then base by base with alternate power to expand.
Fusion/Nuclear Fact
Fusion reactors makes your burner boilers produce excess steam stand-alone so not primary boilers anymore because they are not heat/temperature dependent boilers, your heat exchange boilers and heat pipes does that bonus instead.
