Introduction
Hey, Hi! I'm Kau, the creator of this guide. My idea is to collect all the information about the game and have one nice compendium to guide new and veteran drafters through the game.
At the moment I'm writing this guide, I have around 141 hours in the game and 100% completion.
!!!SUPER SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
If you don't want to spoil your experience, I personally recommend coming back to this guide after you beating your first boss.
Archetypes
In this game, there are five archetypes. Oracle, Raider, Traveler, Warden, and Stranger
There's no "best archetype". Each one of the archetypes has its own peculiarity, they are good at its respective strategy, and has its own powerful cards.
The best way to understand is by playing and building your own deck.
Oracle
The archetype is about control, here you don't have any cards that deal direct damage but have a lot of other powerful things

Definitely one of my favorites, the specializations of the Oracle are Charm, Copy things, Destroy, Dispel, Hex, Sleep,Summon things, and Time/Meta Effects
Cards in Oracle don't have conditional triggers

Peculiarities
  • If you don't know, if you charm the last enemy in the room, you automatically complete that room
  • If you inflict sleep on an enemy, they will remain asleep until they are hit. This way, you can stall forever in that specific room; maybe use this time to go back to full HP, set up your combo, copy cards, etc

Here's a list of the possible booters that drops most of the Oracle cards.[dungeondrafters.wiki.gg]

Raider
This archetype is all about damage—I mean, LOTS of damage. Being the one with the most damage in the game

The specializations of the Raider are DAMAGE, Burn, and Wound

And his conditional triggers being Grit, Kill, and Polykill

Peculiarities
  • Burn deals damage equal to its stack number; a burn 7 target will take 7 damage at the end of its turn
  • Wound only make our damage cards deal +1 damage
  • Grit procs when you are at 30% or below HP. The HP bar has an indicator, and the idle animation of your character changes too

Traveler
You like to have super high mobility when you still do good damage and control the board? Be able to draw your entire deck in the first round? Have infinite turns and actions? The Traveler archetype is for you and is my favorite too!

The specializations of the Traveler are Draw, Haste, Mobility (Dash, Flight, Teleport, Zip), and Stealth

And his conditional triggers being Discard, Initiative, Polyhit, and Precision

Peculiarities
  • The act of sending a card to the graveyard counts as a Discard, so if a card has an effect, then another effect when discarded, it will trigger both
  • Initiative and Precision procs even if the mob has multiple HP bars

Hessia: New Horizon[dungeondrafters.wiki.gg]

Warden
The most balanced of the Archetypes, this one provides immense utility to your deck and makes a lot of other strategies viable

The specializations of the Warden are Crush, Gizmos, Heal/Regen/Purge, Shield, Immune, Retaliate, Pull/Push, Root, and Stun

And his conditional triggers being only Patience.

Peculiarities
  • Blocking with Shield or Immunity also blocks the associated effect of that attack

Mechanics
Most of the things you find in this section you can easily access in the first tab of the Encyclopedia (Pressing "G" on the keyboard).

In the game, there are some mechanics in the cards, like Effects, Traits, and Precision Triggers.
As well some Conditional Triggers(CT's)

Originally posted by Encyclopedia, 1st Tab, Traits Section:
Traits
"All actions in Dungeon Drafters have Traits, be this action a mob action, counter, death throe or a card casted by the player. Traits are descriptions of mechanics imbued in the action and can be used to have a quick glance at the inner workings and general consequences of an action or card
Area Traits
Area Traits are divided into 4
  • Shot: Spawns a projectile that moves in a given direction. It requires a free tile to spawn. It will stop at any obstacle and apply some effect on any unit that it collides with.

  • Phaser: A projectile that passes through most obstacles, only  stopped by walls and indescribable objects. It can spawn on tiles occupied by units, and it can phase through. Phasers never affect allies.

  • Area: Affects multiple titles at once

  • Global: Affects all units or all tiles in the room
Damage Traits
Damage Traits are divided into 4
  • Melee: A direct attack made with an unit's equipped or natural weapon

  • Direct Damage: Direct damage inflicted to units. Will trigger any effects that respond to damage from a particular source

  • Splash Damage: Indirect damage inflictted to units. Will not trigger Retaliate against the one who did the action with this trait

  • Recoil: Self-Inflicted damage or negative effect
    Recoil damage can't kill you
Moviment Traits
Moviment Traits are divided into 4
  • Dash: Execute a directional movement that traverses every tile from start to finish

  • Zip: Executes a directional movement that traverses every tile from start to finish and phases through most obstacles, stopping only at walls or indescribable objects

  • Teleport: Executes a non-directional movement from one tile to another. This movement ignores any traps that redirect directional movement

  • Jump: Executes a positional movement that doesn't traverse the tiles between start and finish
Disrupt Traits
Disrupt Traits are divided into 4
  • Pull/Push: The unit is forced to move in a direction relative to the attacker, traversing every tile from start to finish. If it is ∞ the unit will only stop at an obstacle or after moving 100 tiles

  • Launch: The unit is launched to another tile without traversing the tiles between start and finish

  • Displace: Unit forced to Teleport to another tile. The movement ignores any trap that redirects directional moviment

  • Crush: Forced Launch that will instantly kill a unit if the movement is impossible
Deck Traits
Deck Traits are divided into 6
  • Draw: Draw cards from the library if there are cards avaliable

  • Exhume: Draw cards from the graveyard if there are cards avaliable

  • Reshuffle: Reshuffle all cards in the library

  • Copy: Draw a Phantom Card from your hand. Phantom Cards are temporary and aren't discarded to the graveyard, vanishing upon use

  • Discard: Discards a card from hand without casting it. Library cards goes to the graveyard, while Effect and Phantom Cards just vanish

  • Mill: Sends a number of cards from the library directly to the graveyard. This will not trigger Discard Effects
Invocation Traits
Invocation Traits are divided into 3
  • Summon: Summon a mob or prop. If it's a mob, it will be a summoned unit having a weaker grasp on reality and being destroyed by Dispel Effects

  • Gizmo: Create a special unit that has mechanical properties. Gizmos are always neutral and always have a specific counter that activates whenever they are attacked. They are immune to all Effects

  • Trap: Place Traps that will trigger an effect when an unit occupies their tile. Each Trap has its own requirements to trigger
Negative Traits
Negative Traits are divided into 10
  • Dispel: Removes all Positive Effects from a unit. Summoned units are Destroyed instantly instead.

  • Burn: Affected units take damage equal to Burn's Severity at the end of their turn. Affected caster burns one of their Library cards, discarding it

  • Disease: Affected units cannot recover HP by healing.

  • Hex: Mob or Caster becomes a helpless frog, unable to attack. This reduces max HP by half, and mobs cannot counter or trigger their death throe

  • Lure: Affected mobs will be compelled to pursue and attack whatever unit they are lured by. Affected caster cannot attack any unit that isn't it

  • Poison: Affected unit gradualy lose HP each turn

  • Root: Affected unit by Root cannot move or be forced to move by other effects

  • Sleep: Affected unit becomes unable to act until it takes damage. Affected caster discard all Phantorm Cards and cannot act until it casts Sleep

  • Stun:Affected unit will not act during its turn. Affected caster discards all library cards from hand

  • Wound: Affected unit will take increased damage from every attack
Positive Traits
Positive Traits are divided into 8
  • Purge: Removes all Negative Effects from an unit

  • Flight: Affected unit gain flying movement

  • Stealth: Affected unit cannot be detected by enemies and becomes untargetable by most effects that require a specific target. Doing a melee attack while affected by stealth yields bonus damage.

  • Heal: Recover HP up to Maximum HP. Healing never recovers. Extra Lives from mobs and gizmos

  • Regen: Affected unit gradually recover HP each turn

  • Retaliate: Affected unit will inflict damage to any unit that directly damages it

  • Shield: affected units raise up a directional shield. A shield will block any directional attacks coming from its direction but will not block non-directional attacks, such as area-of-effect attacks

  • Immunity: Affected unit becomes immune to most damage types
Special Traits
Special Traits are divided into 9
  • Charm: Affected mobs temporarily change alignment. Enemies become allies. Allies become Enemies. A caster, when charmed, can't attack the source of the charm

  • Destroy: Affected unit is instantly destroyed and doesn't trigger its death throe

  • Meta-Effect: A special effect that has no comparable rule in the world. Considered dangerous by adventures

  • Petrify: Affected unit is instantly destroyed and becomes a stone statue prop. Affected caster will die if it has two Petrify cards in hand

  • Random: The forbidden art of randomly picking a value. A blasphemy in the world of the 4 corners

  • Recast: immediately recast the card without spending AP on the previous cast

  • Timecraft: Manipulates or interacts with time itself. May cause a Paradox if used incorrectly

  • Paradox: ?????

  • Taboo:???
Conditional Triggers

There are two mini-games in the game:
The Slime Minigame and Fishing Minigame
And the Arena Puzzle

Arena Puzzle
One of my favorite parts of the game is the Puzzle Arena. Some puzzles took me 3 minutes, others 3 hours.
A guide to all of them already exists—here's the link to a guide from my friend Prib!
