How to play Mafia in first person

This guide will show you how to play Mafia: DE in first person with the MAFIA First Person mod made by 3LC.

Step 1: Download ScriptHook

For the mod to work you need to first download ScriptHook. It can be downloaded from this link: https://cdn.nomad-group.net/nomadapps/mplus/build_depot/prod/installer/Mafia-Definitive-Edition-ScriptHook-Installer_r96.exe.

Now that you have downloaded the ScriptHook Installer, before opening it, if you haven't, open the game atleast once, and now open the installer with admin privileges. When it asks for the distribution type you have installed just select the launcher you play Mafia: DE from. When it shows the destination folder check if it's the right folder, if you're not sure what folder is Mafia: DE installed in right-click the game in the sidebar, go to Manage and then Browse local files (Pic 1) and see where it is installed then copy the location of the folder (Pic 2) and paste it where it says Destination Folder. And now just accept the END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT by pressing "I Agree", unless you really want to know your rights regarding ScriptHook, and you just downloaded ScriptHook.

After downloading it try running the game and it now should have a custom launcher, it's also recommended to enter Free Ride to check if the framerate is alright, if it's extremely choppy, you probably need to go to the in-game settings and disable Fullscreen.

Step 2: Downloading the MAFIA First Person mod

Now that you have installed ScriptHook, in the Mafia: DE there should be a ScriptHook folder(If it's not appearing try refreshing the page), you will need to download the MAFIA First Person mod, which was made by 3LC, download it from this link: https://www.nexusmods.com/mafiadefinitiveedition/mods/66. Just click FILES and MANUAL DOWNLOAD (Pic 3) (If you're not logged in you will have to log in or create an account to be able to download it), It will say that you need Nomad ScriptHook but we just installed it, so just click DOWNLOAD and choose the download type.

Now unzip the folder, to do it just right-click the folder and click Extract All...(I recommend creating a folder called Backup inside the Mafia: DE folder and copy (don't move) the file tables.sds found in "Mafia Definitive Edition\sds_retail\tables" to it (Pic 4)). Now that you have extracted all the files, open it and copy both folders inside of Install into the Mafia: DE folder (Pic 5) and replace the files when asked. And, you did it! You succesfully installed the MAFIA First Person mod.

How to use

In this section I will show you how to use the mod ingame. To change camera mode on foot press C, there are 4 camera modes in this mod Close, Original, Far and first person (Pic 6). To change camera to first person in a car just press the button mapped to changing the camera in a vehicle(default is 5). If you want to change the key to change camera on foot open the file manifest.json located in "Mafia Definitive Edition\ScriptHook\data\scripts\firstperson" with notepad (Pic 7) and where it says:
"keyBinds": {
ㅤ "firstperson": "C"
Change the C to whatever letter you want.
