How to change game difficulty to make it easier (Cheat)

This guide describes how to manually alter the difficulty of the game to make it easier.
Guide difficulty: Very easy
Risk: Very low

How to make the game easier

Step 1:
Go to: Steam\steamapps\common\Vertigo 2\vertigo2_Data\StreamingAssets and find the file named 'difficulty.cfg'. Now copy and paste that file to make a backup of it.

Step 2:
Open the file Steam\steamapps\common\Vertigo 2\vertigo2_Data\StreamingAssets\difficulty.cfg and edit it using notepad or your favorite text editor

Step 3:
Change the following part for (EASY) difficulty mode by overwriting it with these values:

DIFFICULTY = EASY
{
player_health = 8.6
enemy_health = 0.55

enemy_move_speed = 0.75
enemy_attack_freq = 0.7
enemy_grenade_delay = 1.8

enemy_health_newgameplus = 1.5}

Do not alter any other lines than the player_health line or the enemies in game will stop attacking and you will need to load an earlier savegame.

Player health is now 8.6 times higher than normal (860%). This makes you a bullet sponge and will make it easier to survive the waves and long boss fights. Alternatively you can also make the game even more difficult, if you are so inclined, by lowering player_health values.

I have tested these values and have run into no adverse effects while playing the game.
