The darkness youkai from Touhou Project unleashes her hunger onto the world of Aether!

Don't let Rumia's cute appearance fool you, as she is an absolute powerhouse! Swap around between reduced knockback and inflicting serious instant damage on your opponents using pure darkness!

MAIN MECHANIC:
DARKNESS MASS:
Rumia has the ability to create darkness around herself, in the shape of an orb
When Rumia is barely hit by an incoming hitbox, after a short duration she will form darkness mass around her to protect her from knockback and heavier.

DARKNESS PASSING:
Rumia can only have 1 mass of darkness out at a time, and has to decide if she puts it on herself for defense or on enemies for securing kills.
In order to move the darkness around Rumia can use her specials, strongs or U-air to pass the darkness around.
D-Special can move the darkness back to her if an enemy is affected by her darkness, but the rest of the specials, strongs and U-air can be used to pass it from her to enemies back.

DARK CONSUME:
If an enemy is currently affected by Rumia's darkness mass, if they are hit with N-Special, U-Special or any of her strongs the darkness mass will stress out and combust on the enemy, dealing a set amount of damage.
This powerful blast can hit enemies around it as well, so watch your distance if she managed to hit someone else with it!


SPECIALS:

Neutral Special: Oblivion
A very slow but powerful punch that flings Rumia forward, the attack can be turned at the start of it.

If Rumia hits an enemy with a darkness mass, the darkness will explode and get rid of the darkness.
If she has darkness on herself she will pass the darkness to the enemy.



Forward Special: Demarcation
Rumia shoots a medium ranged, weak projectile forward. Can be used for some pressure outside of her regular range.

If Rumia has darkness on herself she will pass the darkness to the enemy.



Up Special: Night Bird
Rumia creates wings out of pure darkness and flaps them with full force, leaping high into the air. At the end of the move she will get into pratfall.
If Rumia hits an enemy with a darkness mass, the darkness will explode and get rid of the darkness.
If she has darkness on herself she will pass the darkness to the enemy.



Down Special: Maroon-Night Devouring
If Rumia does not have a dark mass active, holding down the special button will make her charge up darkness, slowly building up her darkness. She can keep charging untill it's in max darkness, and interrupting her will keep the currently charged amount minus the damage she just took but automatically create the dark mass.

However, if an enemy has a dark mass owned by Rumia, she absorbs the darkness to her.

By pressing the input for this move while having the dark mass on Rumia herself she can remove the darkness from herself.



Final Strong: No More Innocence
Rumia's amulet loosens up and falls off her hair, unleashing her true power - Rumia EX, and she then flies a long distance forward quickly. If Rumia manages to grab an enemy the screen will darken and she will do a powerful slash that deals massive damage.

This move can be accessed through using the corresponding rune or the Final Smash Buddy, and pressing special when the meter is full.

honestly it kinda goes for me too, i didn't actually care for rumia before making the mod, she grew on me after making her

I have to say that this is my favorite Touhou mod, I love the franchise so much and you did a great job making the character
I thought it was incredible and I feel enormous pride in saying that because of this mod I started to like the character a little more

now that i looked into it yeah, it's not an issue with the final smash directly actually, the grab system rumia uses broke on the recent rivals update making her dair not work too

it will be fixed in the next patch when i get to her

Can confirm that with the prior comment that there's a problem with "Final Strong: No More Innocence" I tested both the Abyss Rune and the Final Smash Buddy (sometimes both equipped) in Abyss, Practice and Versus.
Rumia would quick contact with the hit box but would continue to fly off on her own.

Aside from that really love her play style and design along with your newest release of characters and stage. I look forward to more of your amazing work.

i love roomba, the new version is very powerful (in a good way) but i cannot use the final smash, i don't know if ity is my problem only...

and yeah i removed the countering mechanic cuz it was too strong, it made her skip the step of applying the darkness on the enemy without having it on her first, and it made people (including me) not really bother with the having the darkness on herself
you can also see that change with stuff like how parrying an enemy no longer applies the darkness on them, but on rumia instead

It's an incredible character. She feels nicer after the balance of the v1.5 overall, specially in her animations, she is more "fair" to put it simple. But I would like to ask if the counter mechanic gave too much problems or if it was removed because it was too strong. I also feel the feedback of the big punches (F-strong and N-Special) is different from before but maybe that just me. Just asking out of curiosity. Without any doubt I think Rumia is one of the best characters in the whole workshop with a lot of original aspects in her set and a great way to show her power and hunger for battle.
