MCC: Microsoft Login Email Loop Bug Fix

After launching MCC, does Microsoft remember an email account you no longer have access to?
If so, this guide may help you fix it.

The HaloWayPoint Fix

If you are stuck in this loop, you will need to to remove the webcache data contained in your Windows users AppData folder. Below are the steps to locate and remove the files to exit this loop:


1. Navigate to your local AppData's webcache folder at C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\Saved\webcache
2. Delete all files in this location which may include the following: Cache, Cookies, Cookies-journal, Visited Links.
4. Sign into the preferred Xbox network account and allow the app to access your info
5. Launch MCC & login as directed.

Windows Credentials Manager Fix

1. Go to Credentials Manager in Windows.
2. Scroll down to Xbl device key.
3. Remove Xbl device key.
4. Refresh Credential Manager to confirm that it was removed.
5. Start up MCC.
6. Login as prompted and it should be functional.

New Windows Local User Fix

1. Access Windows Accounts
2. Add local Windows User
3. Setup password & account name.
4. Login to this Local Windows User
5. Launch MCC.
6. Login as prompted and it should be functional

People have been having this issue for four years and their was not a guide on this that I could find anywhere.

If by some regrettable circumstances that these do not work for you, you have my sympathy but I cannot do anything more for you. I recommend searching & questioning the Halo subreddit.

None of these worked. Downloaded MCC from steam. Created new microsoft outlook account. Play 1 level of Halo 1 and exit. When I go back to sign in it tells me account is locked for violation and I must do password recovery. Password recovery requires way too much personal information, it's absurd.
Now every time I attempt to sign in I get password recovery prompt and going back or trying another account doesn't work as it glitches back to password recovery.

Just exploring options before I get a refund.
