Sleeping Dogs - PlayStation Controller Mod

A guide on how to install the PS Controller Mod for Sleeping Dogs by Sneakyevil which replaces the Xbox buttons to PS buttons.

Installation

Step 1 - Go to this link: https://github.com/SDmodding/PS-Controller
Step 2 - Download the latest release in my case it's v1.0
Step 3 - Click on PS-Controller.rar to install
Step 4 - Open up Sleeping Dogs directory (where the .exe is for the game) and the PS-Controller.rar
Step 5 - Drag and Drop the contents of the PS-Controller.rar into the sleeping dogs directory

For those having any error issue please go to this link: https://mega.nz/file/fK5SWARD#1fAWkxAHaKCIMDaJ5XAQKvjs6gK4RCQo5ZlvvtHWtVw and download sdhdship.exe and drag and drop into sleeping dogs directory replacing the .exe the game comes with.

so i've tried this like 7 times now and nothing has ever changed i dont know if it just doesnt work on steam deck or im just doing it wrong or what but im just gonna give up for a day or so.

I just tried to add this mod but the game no longer boots up. Also skrttdoosh You may want to click on the "view controller settings" found on the right before starting the game. I had the same issue where it was telling me to press B which I know to be Circle and instead I had to press Square. I just turned on the Steam Input option and it was fixed

I recommend asking the creator Sneakyevil as he'd know more than I about that one.

Click on the video linked in the guide and just pop down to the comments to ask him about it (he does reply to people who ask for help which is always great).

Hey there, I followed this guide and it successfully changed the icons to PS icons, but the buttons don't match the action or input. For instance, it shows the X button as "accept/confirmation" but I had to press the Square button instead. And for "back" I had to press X button when it shows back as O button in the game. How do I solve this? 😅

Glad the guide helped! Also yeah I wished the dev specified that you needed the .exe as well but from now on every guide I make for their mods will include the link for it.

Thanks for this guide - the uploader of the mod didn't make it clear that the executable needed to be replaced as well, most people seeking this mod won't be familiar with the Sleeping Dogs modding lore...
Would have been nice to also have an option for the icons from the PS4 version of the game, which are slightly nicer than the PS3 icons. But this is great. I've been playing on PC for a decade now, you'd think I'd get used to the Xbox layout, but I like this more
