How To Play As Any Character In Any Stage

A guide to tell how to play as anybody in any stage. For example, using this guide you will be able to play as Sonic in Sky Rail, or even Wild Canyon.

Requirements

• Obviously, a copy of Sonic Adventure 2. No DLC needed.
  
• The Sonic Adventure 2 Mod Loader. Click here for a link to the Mod Loader[forums.sonicretro.org]
  
• The character select mod in question. Download here[mm.reimuhakurei.net]

Installing the Mod Loader and the Mod

Installing the mod loader is fairly easy. First of all, download it from the link provided in the Requirements section. Second, put it in your SA2 installation folder and extract the file. You should see this once it's extracted.



Now, it's time to install the mod. Download it from the link provided in the Requirements section, and then extract it in the mods folder that was just extracted. Once you have extracted the mod, you should see this folder in the mods folder.

Now, to enable the mod, go back into your Sonic Adventure 2 installation folder and click on SA2ModManager.exe, then click on Install Loader.


Now, to enable the character select mod, click on the check box next to "Character Select mod". It should look like this.

Testing the Mod

Now, just click Save and Play. SA2 will start up.

To test out this mod, here are the methods to using different characters.
After selecting a stage, press one of the corresponding buttons or hold the analog stick in the corresponding direction to play as a different character. Here's a list of the different inputs.


Left - Sonic
Right - Shadow
Down - Knuckles
Up - Rouge
R - Mech Tails
L - Mech Eggman
Y - Tails
X - Eggman
B - Alternate Characters
A - Alternate Costumes

The alternate characters and costumes are from the 2 player mode, by the way.

To test this mod, we're going to play as Sonic in Sky Rail. Go to Stage Select, and choose Sky Rail.



Now, when this loading screen shows, hold left on the analog stick.



If you see the following screen, then success! You got the mod to work. To play as other characters on other stages, just use the other inputs found above.
