After performing these steps in this mod you will also be able to back stab the zeds, just sneak up on them without them noticing...

You have to "enable" steam overlay in all games first then it becomes an option to disable it per game, as mentioned above. "Steam" (top left) --> "Settings" (opens another window with more options) --> left hand side go to "In Game" --> in the very top is says "Enable the Steam overlay while in game" Have this option ENABLED. Once this is done you DISABLE the in game overlay for CDDA personally.

Another way is to go to Steam settings -> In Game -> change "Overlay shortcut key(s)" to "Shift+Ctrl+Tab". That way you can access Steam Overlay and still use backtab

I'm getting exactly the same problem actually, it's frustrating. It is unchecked like it's disabled, but it still enables, I'll have to just change the default steam overlay bind and totally forget what it is. :neonsad:

In my case it was already unchecked and impossible to check, yet it still sometimes opened in-game. Very weird bug. Basically it seems to be locked to off by default yet not truly off, since sometimes backtab would work but other times it would open the steam overlay and massively lag my game. My temporary fix is to simply disable steam overlay in general which solved the issue but obviously it's not ideal.
