A beginners guide to playing Labyrinthine
  1. Take off your headset unless you want permanent hearing loss – use speakers!
  2. Open the game and go to Options > Audio
  3. Set every slider to <50%
  4. If you stream the game, set "Footsteps volume" to zero – if you don’t stream it set it to whatever you want
  5. Set "Voice mode" to "Push to talk"
  6. Choose the correct microphone
  7. Go to "Controls"
  8. Set "Push to talk" to a different key/button than your Discord PTT/mute
  9. Go to Options > Graphics
  10. Turn view distance all the way up
  11. Turn game brightness all the way up
  12. Go back to Options > Gameplay
  13. Make sure "Infinite glowsticks" is on
  14. Make sure "Glowstick fading" is off
  15. Turn "Headbob" off if you want to be able to revive other people while standing in odd places
  16. Stock up on snacks and drinks (make sure you use spill safe containers)
  17. Close the windows so the neighbors won’t hear you screaming
  18. Click on "Host / Solo" in the left menu
  19. Turn "Friends-Only" on
  20. Create a Lobby
  21. Invite 1-3 friends (if you don’t have any, make some – the Valko Discord is a good place for that – and come back)
  22. While you wait for your friends to join, read the tutorial (the "?" in the left side menu) – it's actually useful!
  23. Make sure your friends have their ingame voice set to push-to-talk
  24. Open a story chapter or case file
  25. Realize it’s still too dark so you have to turn your screen brightness all the way up
  26. Realize it’s still too dark so you also have to turn off every light in your room
  27. Spam glowsticks everywhere!

Have fun!

i would personally say only place glow sticks at intersections in the direction that leads to the safe house so you can flee faster

27. is not a good idea imo, especially if you have troubles remembering where youve been (like somebody we know, right? :P). the clutter you create will hurt way more than help. especially if you have 4 people doing the same, looking for one elusive frob.

its much better to mark lightly and simply (from whence thou cams'ts, on the crossroad, and where youre going), its still plenty visible (except the hedge-grass map), will not create clutter, will not confuse, will be easier to determine who was around (if everyone is using a different glow-shape).

the only exception would be dead end. mark the frak out of it at its start :D
