Full (hopefully) Guide for Main Story Quests and for unlocking steel path

thumbnail is me 50/50 of the times when i need to look something up for warframe and/or when i want to do something an need to go google it for like 5-10min to figure out how...

Rant:

i got sick and tired of warframe and the warframe community not having a single good comprehensive, complete and up to date guide of any kind really that tells from start to finish how to get to Steel Path short of sitting down with a 30 minute video

and if you're just looking for specifics of a certain quest or two then it's just a straight huge pain to basically have the only option be flicking through a 30min video which is just a straight up very impractical option if you say are chatting with a friend in VC and just wanna check up fast on something...

hopefully this guide will help some people out there. that being said, tbh i'll probably not be bothered to update this guide unless something iv'e written is really wrong (and i notice it or someone mentioning so)

iv'e tried my best to list the quests in order so quests lower down require the quests above it to be complete.

3. "The Archwing"

coop?: unclear, maybe coop-able.

Requirements: Mars Junction on Earth

- archwing
- archwing ranged and melee
- Railjack Missions

4. "Stolen Dreams"

coop?: unclear, maybe coop-able.

Requirements: Phobos Junction on Mars

- "Ether Daggers" (dual daggers)
- Weekly Ayatan Treasure Hunts

5. "The New Strange"

coop?: unclear, maybe coop-able.

Requirements: Europa Junction on Jupiter and Joined Cephalon Simaris’ Syndicate and spoken with him again after joining (go to any relay, you can find him by running around until you find him/it or you can press escape and pick fast travel.)

- main blueprint for a fire breathing warframe "Chroma"
(also can deploy a fire breathing turret from his suit)
- unique "Sanctuary Onslaught" wave survival

6. "Natah"

coop?: coop-able when looking for sentient drones i think but prob solo only when doing the actual quest

Requirements: MR3, Uranus Junction on Saturn
and Scan Sentinel Recon Drones in Grineer sealab Tilesets (maps) on Uranus

7. "The Second Dream"

coop?: solo-only

Requirements: MR3 and Neptune Junction on Uranus

- "Broken War" Sword, very good sword.
- Focus Schools (and Focus Booster Spawning, i think..)
- Lua (The Moon)
- Rising Tide quest unlocked
(making your own 'customizable and upgradable Railjack' Mission)

8. "The War Within"

coop?: solo-only

Requirements: MR5 and Sedna Junction on Pluto

- "Operator Mode" aka you can 'step out' of your suit with your human character
- Main Syndicates Access
- riven mods
- daily sorties
- Kuva Fortress Location and missions
- Kuva Liches
(activatable rivals whom you can capture or whos weapon you can take, endgame weapons here)
- unique "Conjuction Survival" endless mission on Lua
- Orvius, Boomerang Disc Blade with exploding ability
- Laverian (Warframe/Lore Museum)
- Unique "Broken Scepter" Melee "staff" Weapon

9. "Chains of Harrow"

coop?: solo-only

Requirements: Complete "Mot" Survival mission in the Void

- Main Blueprint for "Harrow" suit

10. "Apostasy Prologue"

coop?: probably solo only.. idunno..

Requirements: Build Personal Quarters Segment

11. "The Sacrifice"

coop?: solo-only

- Full "Excalibur Umbra" suit
- "Skiajati" Melee Sword and Sheath (Excalibur umbras signature melee weapon)
- Umbra Mods (very good mods when leveled up a lot, superb once maxed)

12. "Prelude to War"

coop?: solo-only

13. "Chimera Prologue"

coop?: probably solo-only

- Paracesis Melee GreatSword
(anti-Sentient Melee GreatSword, great against sentients, good against everything else, i think..)

14. "Rising Tide"

coop?: it is at least in part playable with friends if not fully

- Railjack

15. "The New War" (aka "the 7hr quest") 2-6hr according to Wiki

coop?: solo-only

Requirements: own a Railjack and a Necramech

- the Drifters "Sirocco" Amp and a skin of it to make other amps look like it
- "Nataruk" Bow
(Energy Based Bow with infinite ammo, very very powerfull but not much if any AOE)
- 3 Day Affinity and Credit Booster
(i think they're applied as soon as you finish the quest and return to your orbiter)
- Narmer Bounties ("Caliban" Frame Grind)

16. "Angels of the Zariman"

coop?: solo-only

- Drifter Unlock (regardless of if you pick operator or drifter)
- Zariman Dormizone (Customizable Personal Quarters on the Zariman)
- the Zariman Missions, Bounties ("Gyre" Frame Grind) and "Chrysalith" Hub
- Zariman Incarnon Weapons from the Chrysalith Hub
(extremely powerfull (once fully evolved and upgraded) endgame weapons here)

17. "UNLOCKING STEEL PATH"

coop?: fully coop-able

for those who have not looked into specifically this yet.. here's the big whammie...

you must complete every single mission "node" (some exceptions listed below) 1 time including the ones on the Kuva Fortress (nr8 "The War Within" quest) and the Zariman (nr16 "Angels of the Zariman" quest)

to word it differently if it helps.. you must do every single mission on the map one time minimum, with the exceptions listed below.

but even with those exceptions it's one hell of a bucket of missions unless you somehow have already done all the missions once before completing all the story quests and before you go looking for steel path :q

the exceptions to these missions you must do are railjack missions (i have not even done my second planet in the railjack map and i have steel path unlocked long ago) and missions not DIRECTLY connected by white drawn lines to the rest of all other missions on the star chart,

the only exceptions to this are the zariman and kuva fortress missions with maybe duviri missions if that update has star chart missions on it like the zariman when it comes out
to reiterate. the mission(s) listed in the sentence/paragraph above are NOT required to be done in order to unlock steel path

once you have met the requirements listed above in the entirety of this guide/post
(done all the quest in this guide and met the requirements in this little section about steel path)
you may then visit Tenshin in any relay and talk to him, you will then finally unlock the steel path star chart. may the gods have mercy on your soul.

18. "The Duviri Paradox" (whatever the quest will be called to unlock the duviri open world)

coop?: TBD - (Unrelleased)
(will be mostly coop-able at least but quest to unlock duviri will prob be solo only)

Requirements: Unclear..
wiki insinuates it is only accessible on first time login or once angels of the zariman is completed but on the first duviri reveal devstream i remember them mentioning that one can hop into duviri even if you are for example midway through story missions so that friends that have already started aren't forced to start anew or forced to complete all story quests first..[/h1]
