Yes you are missing something. :)
By "24/7 staffing" he is meaning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Obviously not 7 hour shifts for 3 employees.
You can set your employees however you want. 1 hour shifts or 24 hour shifts or anything in between. As of right now, they don't complain anything, if they don't have a special request for their shifts.
"For any of your retail business ensure to have 24/7 staffing."
It is probably not possible to establish 24/7 work without hourly breaks in the case of a 3-shift system (7 hours each).
If we want to have continuous work, a 4-shift system of 6 hours each is required.
"To staff the store for an additional 16 hours a day per register at $10 wage an hour is only $160 a day..."
So a 3 shift system?
