Introduction
I needed a list for myself to see how much Shop Items increase customer capacity and how many of them i needed to reach to Building Customer Capacity Limit. I made a list of them with their prices and size. I hope it helps you for your further calculations as well :)

Customer Capacity is what limits your "customer count per hour". It is determined by a hard cap called "Building Limit" which varies from Shop's size. ( Like 75m2 = 10, 225m2 = 30 etc. ) And also location of Retail/Office etc. affects the Customer Capacity. (Like being on main roads, on corners or districts.)

When you look at your Insight tab in BizMan, you'll see a section called "Customer Capacity" to the right. On that section you'll notice your "Building Limit" and "Current Capacity Per Hour".
Examples
Let's say your Building Limit is 15, you need items that cover that number. Cash Register (20) and a Wine Shelf (10) won't allow you reach the limit since Wine Shelf's Customer Capacity is 10. So you need to reach or exceed 15 in this case. Putting 2 Wine Shelves will solve your issue since 2 x 10 = 20 and Cash Register is already 20. It will show "Current Capacity Per Hour" in red if you are under "Building Limit".

Let's say you have a Law Firm and Building Limit is 10. You need to put 10 workstations (computers with desks and chair) to reach that Building Limit to use it at full efficiency. ( 1 Workstation = 1 Customer Capacity in the game.)

And you need to reach that limit for per product you sell in your shop. This is especially important for the items that have multiple sellable products.

For instance, you have a 30 "building limited" retail and you want to sell Cup Cakes and Donuts at the same time. If you buy 2 Bakery Showcases to go above 30 since Bakery Showcases have 20 Customer Capacity each, it won't work.

You need to buy 4 Bakery Showcases to go above 30 because the game's gonna categorize Donuts and Cup Cakes seperately therefore you'll be needing 2 Bakery Showcases for Donuts and 2 more Bakery Showcases for Cup Cakes to exceed/reach the limit of 30.
(20x2 = 40 > 30 for Cup Cakes and 20x2 = 40 > 30 for Donuts, so you need 4 of them.)

I hope those above are helpful to understand the basic mechanics of Customer Capacity.

That's all folks. Take care, have fun everyone.

Tips for Business Types
I've seen on Discussions and Forums that most people struggling with min/maxing their business' profit wise about opening which business on where district.

Here is my experience in game where i got my most profitable business' so far. I'm not saying to do these exactly nor do listen to our beloved Uncle :) but this chart might help you in early-mid game especially if you are playing on hardest difficulty. If you happen to believe that those below are wrong, feel free to contribute in the comments section. Honestly some business' might surprise you as to where they belong to most.

*PS: I won't be bothering myself giving away max prices for Districts per product since its a lot and Steam charts be limiting. Also you can always find some cheat sheets on the interwebz.
**The Chart below is just to give an idea, just my own experience so far**

The Numbers(1-4) on Chart means that prefer opening business on lowest valued number. In short, run like hell from 4 as much as possible and embrace the number 1 as much as you can. (for ins. C:1, E:2 means Cheap whatever product is most profitable and Expensive whatever product is slightly above average for that district. I didn't bother to mention if cheap and expensive options are both the most profitable for the same district.)

1: The Most Profitable District
2: Slightly Above Average District
3: Slightly Below Average District
4: The Least Profitable District
?: I am not sure yet District
C: Cheap
E: Expensive
=: If you see equal(=) next to a number for 2+ districts, that means those districts mean same profit.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs

+ Is it possible to increase Customer Capacity of a Retail/Office/Warehouse etc.?
- As of EA, no its not possible. Customer Capacity is a hard capped limit determined by related building's location and mostly size.

+ Why does location of a shop affect Customer Capacity?
- As far as we know, it does not affect directly but location directly affects traffic index which has a huge impact on people who visit your shop.

+ Do you know whether or not Customer Capacity could be increased in any way in the future?
- Honestly, i don't know. But a system like where you gain reputation for your any business' would be amazing to increase your Customer Capacity. Like we have 3 Michelin Star restaurants in real life or famous Law Firms we wanted to go and sue someone (Kappa). Something hard to gain and easy to lose depending on how much risk a player could take/want to take. Or devs will find a better way, time will tell.

+ I have Law Firm/Web Development Agency business and it has 15 Customer Capacity. Do i really need to put 15 workstations?
- I know its frustrating and sounds kinda foolish to do that. I have 4 lawyers but i have 15 desks, right? Its ridiculous IRL when you think of it but its Early Access guys.

But i like to think like this when it comes to CC limitations; that the game asks like what if 15 people come at the same time all of a sudden in that one hour window? Then the game decides whether or not you have 15 desks for those 15 people. Its that simple, i think. It looks like a technical coding thing which is totally acceptable on my end.

+ As an example, why do I need twelve (12) desk setups for twelve (12) lawyers in a law office?
Can't I just 'hot bunk' them at four (4) lawyers per desk setup at three (3) desks only and run them at 24/7?

- Unfortunately game doesn't understand what you wanna do as of Early Access. But ofc you can do that if you wanna limit yourself. The thing about reaching to CC Limit of a building is that you unlock the potential of the building by reaching/exceeding the CC Limit of a building.

If you do what you wanna do by putting only 3 desks in an office which has 12 CC Limit, you'll limit yourself on 3 customers coming to your office per hour. That's why you need to put 12 desks setup to unlock whole 12 customers per hour potential.

+ I have couple of Law Offices and making them work 24/7 but i don't get why i am not earning anything on the weekends?
- Offices dont work 24/7 like other retails. They work like the Recruitment Agency (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) as far as we know. You can find out your sweet hours by checking BizMan's yesterday's tab and shifting your schedule by trial & error.

+ Does Marketing really work on Customers per hour i am getting at my retails?
- Yes, it definetely works since Marketing increases your traffic index which has directly an impact on.

+ I did everything to satisfy Customer Capacity Limit of my retails/offices also having 100% satisfaction on my marketing, prices, customer services, interior design etc. but i can not reach maximum customers per hour whatever i do. It stays on average or some other number when i check "Yesterday" charts on BizMan's Insight tab. Why?
- The fact that you did everything on your part doesn't mean you'll reach maximum customers per hour. Max customer per hour is also affected by Demand and active AI Businesses on regarding district.
Let's say you have a Law Firm in Hell's Kitchen but there are 4 other law firms in the district. Your business will have an impact on that district. The moment game decides to close those AI Law Firms, your Law Firm will boom up due to the demand in Hell's Kitchen.

Another Answer from David Estes Creations:
It depends on several factors. As the other posters said, the demand/competition determines a lot, but additionally, the type of store matters. Fast Food will almost always be at capacity, even with no advertising. Jewelry will not - but due to the extremely high price of the items, Jewelry still makes more money than fast food, with much fewer sales!

Are you going to continue updating the "Tips for Business Types" section? Because there are new stores that are not on the list. Thank you for all the work you do.

Just a note (not a demand :steamhappy: ). There are new items now for the Produce Stores and other 0.2 EA changes). I play with this Guide open all the time, great job.

Yea, I understand what you are saying. After setting up the law firm and letting it run for a couple of days, I did see that there was no customer demand overnight so they do work days only. Guess I need to order up some more work stations so I can keep those Ambulance Chasing minions working.

(After putting 12 desks in an office, you can do whatever you want with the lawyers. The only important thing is to unlock that potential of the building as of now.)

I understand you completely buddy but unfortunately game doesn't understand what you wanna do as of Early Access. But ofc you can do that if you wanna limit yourself.

Can't I just 'hot bunk' them at four (4) lawyers per desk setup at three (3) desks only and run them at 24/7?

Schedule them at six (6) hours per day for seven (7) days that gets them satisfied with hours assigned.

(working with 'full time only' type of lawyers only.

@Merguin

As to other question you have, there is no way to increase overall CC for now. To be fair i hope they would implement a way to increase CC. Like word of mouth maybe, people talk how great your retail is and start to come more often and word spreads more people rushes to the store etc :) It would make possible to have very successfull stores in like 10-15 CC buildings in the future. Think of little restaurants that have Michelin Stars in real life. People try to get a reservation from months ago! (A game mechanic like hard to gain reputation and easy to lose etc.)

As of Early Access, CC is hard capped limitation and it varies mostly on where that building is (on main streets or corners as far as i ve observed)

(Sorry for second message for your questions, Steam limits to 1000 characters.)
