First Boot
When you first boot up the game under Linux, it will most likely look like this:

Transparent textures everywhere and full of artifacts.

Well fear no more, the fix for this issue is pretty simple!
Fixing Up the Textures
To fix this, all you have to do is type 2 simple commands on the in-game console.

To open the console press F1 or ~

Now type this:
/gap_iDepthBits=24

Then type this:
/ApplyVideoMode()

And you should be good to go!
After the Fix
Now that you typed the commands your game should look like this:

No more invisible textures and weird artifacts!
Final Notes and Credits
Note that this fix works both for running the game in it's original executable through Wine and the Classic versions on Steam with Proton.

As well as working for both original First and Second Encounter.

Big thanks goes to LinuxSurge[www.linuxsurge.com] and WineHQ[appdb.winehq.org] for pointing this fix out first and serving as sources for this information.

Now you can seriously appreciate the classic 2000s look in all it's glory!
