Introduction
This is a game with hundreds of achievements and quite a few of them are confusing or seem almost impossible to do, when you don't know the arcane secrets to how they work.



In my time playing this game I've gotten all the achievements except one and found the secret and special ways they were meant to be acquired in, this is a guide where I'll be talking about the more important and troublesome achievements in the game. There are 408 total achievements in the game and there's plenty that are "simply play the game more", so I won't be covering those ones - only the ones worth covering will be listed in this guide.

If an achievement isn't on the list but you have some confusion over what to do for it, ask in the comments and I'll try to tell you and possibly add it to the list.

All achievements (except one) can only be earned on the "Immortal" difficulty or higher.

Master of Solitude
Master of Solitude - 5,000 years of meditation in total

Only lifespan lost while actively meditating counts for this one. Even if your cultivator ages much faster than normal and does meditation, the extra lifespan lost won't count. This one seems insurmountable as 5,000 years is an insane amount to spend in meditation, and it is if you try to brute force it with regular meditation as the counter will get stuck at 4,096 years and won't be able to progress.

So what's the solution? "Zen Reflection".

In the Sixteen Supreme Steps law there is a level two 'upgrade' to the Meditation miracle called Zen Reflection that is available at the Primordial Spirit realm, and using it drains lifespan 5x faster than the normal Meditation miracle which does count for the achievement.

The best way to get this achievement is to raise a minimum of two cultivators with as little cultivation speed as possible in the Sixteen Supreme Steps law to the PS realm, have them all learn Zen Reflection and cultivate somewhere out of the way. If their mood isn't too high and their cultivation speed is low they will be able to do 100 days of Zen Reflection for a low price of around 600 Stamina and you will get the achievement over a few years of repeated use.
Qi Condenser
Qi Condenser - Keep a Phoenix egg neither hatching nor dying for over 36 days

To complete this achievement you need to prepare the right cultivators first. You will need a set of cultivators whose max qi adds up in total to a bit less than 3 million, around 2,700,000 to 3,000,000 is ideal. You realistically need these to be multiple cultivators instead of a single one and ideally you should have replacements for each of them.

Have all of them learn the "One with Mountain" miracle and then fight the Phoenix as normal. Kill the phoenix so it transforms into an egg and let the egg revive once so you can get at and move the materials underneath it, then kill the Phoenix a second time away from anything dangerous.

With the Phoenix now in an egg and not sat on top of any materials, start having cultivators use One with Mountain on the Phoenix egg, adding more as the amount of qi the egg recovers goes up. After one full day the egg's qi recovery will be capped out and can be held in limbo forever with between 2.7m and 3m max qi's with of cultivators. Keep a close eye on the situation and be ready to replace any cultivator who gets bored and flies away.
Unmatched Longevity
Unmatched Longevity - Survive 5 lifespan tribulations.

You will need to prepare a special cultivator for this. You ideally need a Yaoguai and for them to learn the Primordial Alchemy Law, I recommend a Bull as they make better Alchemists so you can use them for that purpose too. Make sure they are strong enough to pass multiple tough tribulations.

Once you have your cultivator, raise them to the Primordial Spirit realm and pass their shapeshifting tribulation, then additionally learn their three manuals which increase Potential by 2 but also increase the rate they lose lifespan at. In the bottom left when selected this cultivator will now have the option to change between human, beast and monster forms - have them become a monster. Make sure to gain 5,000+ years of lifespan on them with pills and manuals, and then use their "Origin Force" ability and begin meditating.

The rate at which they age will be easily visible, make sure to stop after they reach an age of 5,000 and before they die of old age by disabling the Origin Force ability, then take and pass their 5 tribulations to gain the achievement.
Conquest Ingenuity
Conquest Ingenuity - Obtain all the secret treasures from the steles in Purple Cloud Palace

This isn't really something that can be described in text, so instead here's a handy picture guide to the three secret treasures:
Harmony
Harmony - 10 greater artifact acquired

The "greater artifacts" the achievement is referring to are the artifacts that NPC sect leaders will gift you when you're friends with them. To get one, become great friends with an NPC sect and then adventure at their sect until you can visit the sect leader. This should hopefully be the event where you get gifted a special artifact from the sect, collect 10 different ones for the achievement.

How do you become friends with an NPC sect easily? Find out what the sect leader's favourite items are, gift them those items on the world screen for reputation, and then find the sect leader on holiday so you can assassinate them and repeat the process again with their replacement.
Celebrated & Infamous
Celebrated - Sect becomes: Celebrated
Infamous - Sect becomes: Infamous

Reach 1600 good and 1600 evil reputation respectively, before reaching 300 in the other.

The easiest way to do these are to make sure you stay below 300 for both good and evil reputation while building 70 to 80 of the cheapest grave type, get lots of corpses prepared and back up your save game. Bury corpses in all of your graves until you hit 1600 good reputation for the achievement and then reload the backup save, now you can safely perform evil miracles until you reach 1600 evil reputation.

Once you have both, get the opposite reputation above 300 and your rating will forever be "Controversial" which allows you to trade with and visit all other sects freely.
Legendary
Legendary - Acquire one artifact that has been through 20 heavenly reforges

A "Heavenly Reforge" is simply an artifact that was equipped to a cultivator when they went through their Demi-God tribulation, it grants that artifact +2% base power permanently and can be repeated up to 36 times per artifact.

Despairing
Despairing - Failed the tribulation but survived

The key to this achievement is understanding that Attainment, Lifespan and Demi-God tribulations do NOT work for it, they cannot be survived. You need to take a law that has a small tribulation as part of the normal cultivation process like Sunflower Refining Law or Seven Sword Slaughterer and fail one of those tribulations intentionally. The probability is less than 10% that you will survive but if you keep trying you will get it eventually. Good luck.

Expert Searcher - 50 souls searched
I Am Everyone - 10 people possessed
Grim Reaper - 1,000 years of others' lifespan stolen in total
Devil - 100 souls refined
Master of Souls - 100 souls taken
The King of Death - Sanguine Absorption done 100 times
Evil Apostle - 100 sacrifices completed
Violation of Creed - 100 people's souls possessed

The wording for these miracles is confusing and doesn't always make it clear what you should use to complete them. Here's an exact list of what to cast to obtain each of them:
Souls Searched = Soul Inquiry
People Possessed = Lesser / Greater Yang God Possession
Years Stolen = Illusionary Realm / Alluring Illusion / Way of the Reaper / Qi Absorption Cauldron

Treasure of Venom - Unlocked by reading Supplementary Records: Book III of III and adventuring at Poison Dragon Lake with a cultivator who has the Dragon Blood trait.

Heavenly Palace - Unlocked by reading The Windtamer's Travels: Volume I and adventuring at Alchemist's Peak with a cultivator who has 20 Alchemy skill.

Cave of Fire - Unlocked by reading Secret Taoist Records: The Great Desert Chronicles and adventuring at Blazenest with a cultivator who has over 900c temperature tolerance.

Lake of Heaven - Unlocked by reading Supplementary Records: Book I of III and adventuring at Celestial Pool with a cultivator who has 6 or more LUK and INT.

Devil's Seal - Unlocked by reading The Windtamer's Travels: Volume II and adventuring at Millspine forest with any cultivator.
Natural Law & Divergent Law
Natural Law - First time comprehending a natural Law
Divergent Law - First time comprehending a divergent Law

Plant two Spirit Fruits and grow them normally, have one be 100% blessed and one be 100% cursed. Right before their fruit matures to 100% for the first time, have a cultivator of the same element as the fruit tree itself cultivate normally within 4 or so tiles of the tree. When the 100% fruit maturity event happens you will get the achievement.

Artifact Master
Artifact Master - Activate 20 different Rare Artifacts.

This refers to legacy artifacts, you will have to get the recipes for and craft 20 different types for the achievement. The Grand Chariot Wisdom law has 7 different types that are all fairly easy to craft.

Additionally, 'Unearthing Artifact' secret events that happen from time to time have a 1 in 20 chance of being for a random artifact incubation, you can tell if it will be for one as the description for it will begin with "Drastic changes" instead of something else like 'A beacon of bright light'.

Good Doggo
Good Doggo - Kill a monster in Golden Core state or above with your spirit pet within the 1st year with all Frail Pets options activated.

If you try to do this honestly in an upfront 1vs1 you will almost certainly fail. Thankfully you have means at your disposal that some may consider to be... unnatural.

The solution to this problem is to beat the Golden Core map beast to within an inch of its life through normal means so that it is unconscious and has missing body parts. Leave it unconscious on the ground and have your dog standing nearby and keep a close eye on the situation, then the moment it stands up and regains consciousness have your dog fight it on his own.

Your dog can't beat much in the first year 1vs1, but he can beat a beast that's missing 3 legs, has no qi left and only just woke up from a coma.
Taoist Exorcist
Taoist Exorcist - Kill all attacking Yaoguai on the 80th day.

This is the hardest achievement in the game in terms of being attacked early, the attack is deadly and 80 days is very little time to prepare. The best I can do is recommend two different guides for you and wish you luck.

Just Stop
Just Stop - Construct all the Wonders.

This refers to the wonders that can be constructed at each agency location after building a level 3 hall at one. There are 16 different wonder types and only 11 locations they can be built at, so either you need to build the remaining 5 on a second save game or build them and reload an older save then build the others. Make sure to write down which ones you've built and which ones you haven't built yet.

(Hidden Achievement) Out of the Heaven
Out of the Heaven - Know the truth of the world

This requires beating the game's main story which is a rather arduous process and timed in that important story NPCs can die of old age or any other reason at any point, and there is an important event on day 545 which can be easily missed and only has the important option available if you are far enough into the mystery already by this point. Refer to this or any other guide as much as you need to and don't delay.

10,000 Fish
10,000 Fish - Catch 10,000 fish.

For this achievement you definitely want to create six different fishing rods, one of each element (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, None) refined to T12 and then illuminate them and give them to your six strongest Primordial Spirit cultivators. Illuminated fishing rods pull up fish automatically and you should finish getting all 10,000 fish around the same time you finish catching every fish from every area, assuming you put some effort into fishing everywhere around the world.
Yin Yang Unity
Yin Yang Unity - Obtain pet Black Tortoise Miao

To obtain Miao, you'll first need to get 1200 Favour with the Wudang Sect. Once you have the required Favour, you will need to send one of your Cultivators on Adventures to the Wu Dang Sect Headquarters and repeat these Adventures until one of the events has the extra option "Visit the sect leader". Choose this option and you will be rewarded with a Black Tortoise Jade.
Higher Level = More Dignity - Pacifist path
Higher Level = More Dignity - Upgrade Main Halls of all areas and cities to Level 3 within 3 years with all Worldly Chores options activated.



Here it is, the hardest achievement in the entire game. You have two different paths to get it and either way you will almost certainly have to start a save game exclusively for this one achievement.

Pacifist path

The best starting map is large canyon for the extra brownstone.
The double cost to set up an agency is bugged, it is displayed but only the normal amount of resources (100 influence and 100 wood) is removed.

General strategy

  • Ideal cumulative stats for abbots + disciples is 7.01 INT, 15 battle skill level and >7.01 CHA, where more is better. Social skill is not needed.
  • You lose 2 attractiveness points per day and other sects don't, so without bug abuse you'll be stuck at 0.
  • Except disasters, events adding followers can only add unclaimed ones, and if there's too few it takes some from other sects depending on your appeal. Since you almost always have 0 appeal as per above, these events will become useless once capped.
  • Solving disasters first adds followers from unclaimed pops as usual, but if there's not enough the rest are taken from other sects ignoring appeal reductions, so it's the best way to raise followers.
  • Limit of 2 simultaneous disasters.
  • Drought only happens in Summer, Flood in autumn, Cold waves in winter up to the 10th Spring, and earthquakes are all year.
  • Agencies only have 1 to 2 kinds of disasters that can happen to them. In particular, Central Plains and Great Desert only have Drought, City of Abundance and Snaketail Village only have Flood, The Great Snowland only has Cold waves.

The easiest way to get the 100k followers in an agency is through disasters, which means you want a Primordial Spirit cultivator asap since they ensure you can solve disasters.
However, if you only solve disasters as soon as they appear you'll end up with imbalanced agencies because agencies that only have disasters in one season end up disadvantaged compared to agencies with earthquake.
=> Coordinate the end of your disasters at the start of a new season.
For example if you have 2 earthquakes in spring, wait until the 27th or 28th to send-in the primordial spirits so that Central Plains and Great Desert maximize their chance of disasters.

Early game

In a normal playthrough you use your agencies to make your sect more powerful, here you want to make use of your sect to help your agencies.
  • You want to roll a starting disciple with CHA+LUCK >= 14 (not the one to take the Forming Pill),
  • Once you have enough outers to let that disciple become an inner, get them to Core Shaping asap, teach them spirittravel and give them a Spiritual Travelling talisman and make them repeat adventure to City of Abundance for disciples and some wood.
  • Rush 500 rep for the 24 spots with blessed and the taiyi stone casket event, keep the spots for future agency members.
  • Recommended Agency opening order : Mt. South > Riverbank plains > Central Plains > rest of districts > cities.
  • Any new agency should be filled to 10 disciples asap to reach the desired stats. Keep the best ones as future abbots.
  • Build brownstone > wheat > wood buildings in districts in that order, Abstinence temple in Snaketail Village, and Secret Pavilion for Plotting in all cities if you can spare the wood.

Mt. South doesn't need INT, just get 15 battle and as much CHA as possible.
Boosts on stats to abbots and agents still apply and temporary boosts from pills never expire, so equip your abbots with bracelets for a small boost.
An important breakpoint for Mt. South is 8.56 charisma, it gives you enough population from a single event to reach 25k followers. More is always better.
For other agencies, the breakpoint for charisma is 9.73 for 25k followers on average in 2 or 3 (depending on stability) follower-boosting events. Some agencies won't have enough unbelievers for that however.
If you get a disaster early in Mt. South before getting your PS, don't worry as Mt. South is rarely a problem.
Rushing 500 reputation means you may get attacked by beasts from day 30, so be prepared.

Wheat consumption

As agencies consume double, wheat can be a concern. The recommended "base" plot field is a 7x7 square with a lamp post at the center. The lamp post design does not matter, but it has to be named "Lamp Post".

You want 8 of those in a room, with an extra 8 spaces for temperature control items, keeping at the room size limit of 400.

To feed your agencies appropriately, 3 such rooms on fertile fields (or 4 on normal soil) are recommended. They don't have to be rushed, you just want to make a new 7x7 every few days, and to be done by day 56 or so. This will be overkill in more than 90% of the cases, but you don't want to fail due to wheat.

Mid-game

Once all agencies are opened you want to change from charity for some agencies, with a few rules:
  • Only change from one policy to another after an event has happened and been solved here, because changing policy (and "watching" a new city) resets the cooldown for events.
  • Only one agency at a time on an "exotic" policy.
  • You'll need manual labor for brownstone, but only do it in Mt. South before you get 100k followers in other districts.
  • Use Plotting to remove followers from other sects or directly grab them in cities where everyone is in a sect.
  • Abstinence to raise stability in Snaketail Village, unneeded elsewhere.
  • Preaching is good if there's a lot of (50k+) unconverted pop, mostly for Seascape and Riverback City.

Most of your followers will come from disasters so coordinate them correctly. Cities should be easier because you have more policy options.

Useable exploits

Not necessary, use at your own discretion.

Abbot loop / bomb
When a new abbot replaces the previous one, you get a bonus of 50% to your appeal. Since it is almost always 0, it usually does nothing. But if you wait for an event giving extra appeal (charity has a lot of them) and then send one or multiple abbots in a loop, you'll get your appeal to max (100), then you can just resend an abbot every 15 days or so to keep it high.
If you use this, events adding followers never cease to be good since you'll be grabbing the followers from other sects thanks to your always-high appeal. It also brings up to 100 new believers from unconverted everyday.
Mt. South starts with 6 appeal so it can be done here right at the start, the extra appeal won't show up right away as it first goes 6>9>13>19>28>42 (changes from low to medium).

The focus strat
When you watch/unwatch a city (or change policy/reapply policy) just after an event, you'll divide the time between events by 2 on average because the game sets an extra cooldown in agencies when an event just occurred there, and doing the above removes that extra cooldown.

Helpful mod

The Numeric Values in Agency Windows mod[www.nexusmods.com] was created for this achievement and displays the stats clearly. It also allows you to remove the daily 2 attractiveness loss on agencies, if you like.
Higher Level = More Dignity - Warmonger's path
Warmonger's path

Perhaps you don't want to bother with all that complicated stuff, perhaps you just want to crack some skulls, kick everyone else out of the agency locations and move in to their vacated lots in order to reach 100k population at each location, I can appreciate that.

This part of the guide is going to be a general strategy for beating the sects with them set to base immortal difficulty before the end of year 1, at which point you simply need to reach 100k pop in all 11 locations without worrying about anybody else. This isn't an exact "you must do this exactly" and is more of a list of roughly advised steps to take and follow, but it will require that you own the the Wudang DLC to work properly.

  1. You want a large map with Immortal difficulty and the Narrow Escape and Worldly Chores difficulty modifiers turned on. Pick a Canyon map, with a Fei and the Yin Yang Stela.
  2. You should start with 4 disciples that can use the Heaven Stealing law well and have high Mining skill, but don't pick the Heaven Stealing law to start with. 3 should be bears, with 1 snake who has especially high Int and Luck. Check their thought shards, AVOID: Climbing, Watching Eating, Smelling Incense. SEEK: Facing South, Sightseeing, Hearing Earthquake.
  3. Promote two trash guys who aren't your main 4 disciples using your Foundation pill and starter law, have them quickly cultivate a little and then start gathering items via camping, mainly from the Ruins of Taiyi by camping at Mt. FullMoon and praying at the sect gate in the bottom right corner to unlock it early and the Primordial Symbols law from He Zudao at Skydome Palace, as well as stealing the Forming Pills and Holy Stone from Sunshade Abode. Get the two Darksteel pickaxes from Mt. Barren and Summer Herb from Wormwrought Valley in the Summer too and some temporary stat buff pills which can be stolen from Pit of Doom.

  4. Mine out 10+ Ancient Caskets from all of the stone and try to savescum getting the Heaven Stealing law from them. Buy two cheap Cat cages as fast as you can, find one that doesn't have the Climbing, Smelling Incense or Watching Eating shards, you want to be ready to awaken them around day 40 or so, make absolutely sure to feed them all the temporary stat buff pills (especially Cha + Luck) before awakening them.
  5. Promote your main 4 guys with Heaven Stealing and rush to Primordial Spirit with them, with the best GC you can reasonably get quickly, their best breakthrough time is the middle of Summer. Once they get to PS they're slaves for collecting materials for your future Law of Nimbus Conquest cultivator. Steal Wood qi gathering materials from Mystic Unity, gather Earth Flux and a Samsara Pill from Gemspring Cave. Use multiple people to Spectre or Tao refine as needed.
  6. Have two disciples eat Eureka Pills to get 20/20 artifact crafting to make Tribulation Needle legacy artifacts. You can steal Eureka Pills from the Wudang Sect and Evenfall Abode, or you can use your Yin Yang Stela once per season for a bunch of inspiration.
  7. Keep an eye on the stores and merchants etc or make a hellgate, you need lots of Anguish Soul Gems for awakening your Tribulation Needle incubations as you will want 6 of them refined to T12. Do not use the incubation awakening miracle, it will ruin their final stats. Use your highest Charisma PS disciple to repeatedly invite people back from the City of Abundance both for recruiting and for your hellgate.
  8. Make sure to pick up the Law of Nimbus Conquest from the Wudang Sect using your Snake yaoguai by day 40, pick it for your Cat yaoguai once you awaken them. Have them cultivate in a Wood array and use the Samsara Pill on them as soon as they can survive eating it.
  9. After this you just need to raise your Nimbus cultivator well and have them use 6x T12 Needles of Tribulation that you prepared earlier. Pick up the Winter Worm from Wormwrought Valley in Winter to complete the quest at Celestial Pool for a formation manual and make a simple 4 node Sword or a larger Cardinal of Swords formation. With a Nimbus with enough effort put into them, this should be enough to take down the sects in Winter of year 1 which will leave you with plenty of time to take over all the agency locations at your leisure.

I have my doubts, I don't see anybody you could possibly invite being strong enough to really make a difference, especially vs the cultivation killer raid. I took detailed pictures while doing my own testing and playthrough, the attack was three cultivators each with stats greater than an ancient cultivaor. They had a combined 91m max qi, and over 2m artifact battle power each.

Assuming they even would attack visitors, no possible visitor could beat that.

It might be worth noting that the yaoguai raid and the cultivation killer raid can be easily cheesed by inviting strong visitors. The raids often attack those and get easily beaten by them. Giving you the achievement without even having to fight

1. Fast Paced:
Ah, sounds like the achievement is still bugged. Even oneshotting the dragon won't get you it then, I was personally forced to unlock that one with the ModModifier mod.
2. I think that one was getting all the sect leaders to 100 friendly relations, if not then it's 1000 favour with all sects.
3. Yep. Illuminate a bunch of fishing rods and let them do the work, of course making sure you're strong enough to beat any fished up beasts.

Hey, thanks for the guide. I have questions about achievements:
1. Fast Paced - turn Flood Dragon into its True Form under 60 seconds - is there additional requirements, or what does that mean? I certainly killed it under 60 seconds, and waited until he transforms and killed it then, no luck.
2. Cold World: Well Connected / Collections Sect - does it require just getting 1200 favor with all sects?
3. Master Fisher - is it enough to just fish it once and leave on ground?

For stability you want to do Abstinence until you can get out of the negatives, then use Preaching to quickly pick up large amounts of population.

I'm currently going down the Warmonger path and having a hard time with Snaketail's stability. Also, after a couple natural disasters (after conquering every other Sect), both Snaketail Village and Great Snowland ended up with less than 100k total population, and all of my events add +0 to the Followers. Is there any way to gain population in an area?
