How To Fix Lag (+ Have WASD Controls)

Short and easy guide on how to fix the lag that occurs when you save the game or enter any of the doors in the Nexus.

Step 1: Downloading

First, go to https://easyrpg.org/. Once you're on the site, click on the green highlighted text that says "EasyRPG Player" that's at the bottom left of the page. Now go from the overview page to Downloads. If your PC is 32 bit then download the 32 bit executable. If it's 64 bit then download the 64 bit one. Save the file anywhere you like. I recommend saving it on your desktop so it'll be easier to find.

Step 2: Extraction

After the download is finished you'll need to then extract the zip file. Use any extractor tool, whether it's WinRar, 7-Zip, or the Windows extractor tool, it doesn't matter. Extract the file on your desktop so that it can be easier to find (you may now delete the previous zip file).

Step 3: Fixing

Now we're almost done. Go to Yume Nikki in your library, click on the gear icon on the far right of the game page, hover over Manage, and click on Browse local files. There will be a file with the name of the game, so open it. Scroll all the way down until you see an application called "RPG_RT" (the one that has an icon of a character with blue hair and is wielding a sword). Delete that. Now go to your Easy RPG Player folder and you will see an application called Player with an icon of the Easy RPG logo. Rename it to "RPG_RT" (without the quotation marks) and finally copy and paste it inside the yumenikki folder.

Step 4: Enjoy

Now you're done! Go ahead and open the game through Steam and you'll see that the lag has been fixed and you can control Madotsuki using WASD. Have fun and thank you for reading!
