Interactive Map
The map is missing 1 area in the center of the sea called Vidania which counts as a location for the achievement.

It opens up at the very end of the extra-story quest after you've finished everyone's stories.

Octopath Traveler II Interactive Map[overworldmaps.com]
Enemy Weakness Order
If you are finding it difficult to identify an enemy's weakness, there is an easy way to exploit it. You can use a helpful picture that always follows the same order of weaknesses from left to right.

For instance, if an enemy is weak against ice and there are some empty spots after it, it is likely to be vulnerable to any magic that appears to its right. This can be lightning, wind, light, or shadow. Why not give it a try?

Spreadsheet Resources
This is a spreadsheet that provides solutions to all the side quests in the game, NPC locations, bestiary and item drops, shop lists...etc... basically everything you need. Not sure who to give credit to for it, I found the link from reddit and have since lost the original source but it was a communal effort to compile all this information.

Spreadsheet Resource[docs.google.com]
Battle Tested Weapon Farming Intro
You can find a single copy of each Battle Tested Weapon by just progressing the game and looting them off of NPC's. [See the NPC Spawn Locations section for more details] however this won't happen until after you've completed everyone's story.

This guide provides a method to farm multiple copies of those weapons MUCH earlier... and it will also be your preferred method, at the end game, to obtain multiple copies... so there's no time like the present.

You need to farm NPC's in certain towns and hope the item drops after the fight. You can circumvent the random drop chance by using the Cheat Engine Table[drive.google.com] at the bottom of the guide for 100% drop rate and then use the inventory editor to give yourself 8 of them... or you could spend the next 10 - 30 hours playing a slot machine... your choice.

If you're playing legit, they only have a 2% drop rate chance and the only way to continually fight these NPC's is with characters like Hikari or Ochette, so make sure to over level them to make the grind easier on yourself.

Ochette is going to be your go to character for these fights, if you started on the Eastern Continent. Be warned Ochette can only summon monsters during her fights, which makes farming with her much more difficult than Hikari, if you're doing this early on. Hikari will eventually be the easiest and most efficient character to do this with at the end game.

I'll provide a cheese method of item spamming though, so it'll make things super easy, barely an inconvenience... you just need money. So either start saving your coin, or hack it with cheat engine, your call.

You'll have near instant access to 6 of the 7 Battle Tested fights just by exploring the Eastern Continent.

The Battle Tested Staff is only a jump across the river in Canalbrine as well so ideally you'll want to start as Osvald and start scouring the Eastern Continent for other characters ASAP.

The Spear is located in Sai which is in the southern area of the western continent. Sai is a little out of the way but you can run there fairly quickly, as all the area's leading up to it are around danger level 8 - 14.
Battle Tested Weapon Farming Preparation
Farm leaves (currency) and buy Bottled Nightmares. You can buy them in New Delsta Flats off of the black market sellers for 3000 leaves each. Just stand in front of the tables and keep cycling Day / Night time until the proper NPC's show up, when 2 Nun's appear, one at each table, it's the Nun on the right most table that sells them.

Save before fighting the special NPC's so you don't waste resources.

Spam Bottled Nightmares in battle against these NPC's to blind / poison / confuse and put them to sleep.

After which just defend and watch the counter tick down. For every bottled nightmare you throw you can defend for 2 turns and then throw another one to refresh the debuffs for 3 more turns...

It takes anywhere from 5 to 6 bottled nightmares to kill one of these NPC's passively by defending... so roughly 15 to 18 turns of defending. Good Luck!

Alternatively if you want to save resources you could throw 1 Bottled Nightmare, to start off with both sleep and poison, and then alternate throwing Bottles of Sleeping and Poison Dust as they're much cheaper to buy.

EX Skills
Every character has 2 EX skills you can unlock as you play through the game.
These are skills exclusive to the characters innate job class so sub jobs can not use these skills.
  • You'll unlock every characters first EX skill by finding their associated shrine and taking that specific character to said shrine...

So take Cassti to the alter of the Charitable etc... so on and so forth.

*Video provided by Naz talgic

  • The second EX skill is unlocked through natural progression, complete a characters FULL story and it'll automatically unlock.
All Secondary Job Locations / Extra License Items
You can earn up to 3 licenses by turning in quest items to the license giver.
All 4 party members can basically be the same job but only one of them will be able to main it though.

For example Throné will have access to all Thief abilities because it's her innate class and everyone else can have the Thief sub job equipped if you wish.

Secondary Job Locations[videogames.si.com]

Use the Spreadsheet Resource[docs.google.com] to find where these items are located.

Or just Youtube the locations, there's only a few quest items you need to get by killing bosses. As long as you explore every area on the map, you should obtain everything easily. Nothing is really out of the way except for enemy item drops. Search the spread sheet's bestiary tab with Alt+F to locate the exact item drop you need. There's only like 3 enemies you need to farm for items.
All Advanced Job Locations
Just like in Octopath I, there are 4 overpowered special job sub classes to obtain but you can only sub job one of them at a time. There are not multiple licenses for these jobs.
Unlike Octopath I, you do not have to fight a super boss to obtain all of them, only the Conjurer.

The jobs are:

Inventor
Armsmaster
Conjurer
Arcanist

How to Enter Infernal Castle / Beneath the Wall Dungeon
*Video provided by Urshiko: COTC

Secret end game Lv. 55 dungeon outside of Stormhail.

You must have 3 of the following 4 characters recruited: Ochette, Agneas, Temenos and Partitio.

Use their abilities to get 3 NPC's to follow you, then walk across the bridge.

The boss of this dungeon is:The Dreadwolf from Octopath 1 and boasts 150,000 HP

Partitio's Scent of Commerce Quest Solutions
Scent of Commerce Guide[www.gamespot.com]
All Record Locations for Phonograph
Once you progress Partitio's story enough you'll come across a quest where you help someone fund the means to invent a record player (Phonograph).

This is tied to an achievement, so you need to collect all 30 records. The game keeps track of which ones you find when you go to change the music in the pubs... So don't worry about keeping a mental note of which one's you've already found, you can always reference it by checking a Phonograph.

I wouldn't even bother with this side quest until you finish all the characters story lines and crossed paths. Most of the records from 15 to 30 have progression unlock conditions.

Some stores will have 3 records in them but only 1 or 2 may be available depending on your story progression with specific characters. None of these are missible so save it for the very end of your adventure.

Broken Castti BP Concoction
Requirements:

  • Castti needs 4BP minimum
  • Latent power optional (Makes resources infinite so it's probably best to have it full)

Setup:

Make the following concoction to give everyone in the party max BP every turn, including Castti which allows her to continually spam this concoction and have the entire party at max BP every round:

Pomegranate
1BP (2 due to Serum)
Pomegranate
1BP (2 due to Serum)
Diffuse
Makes it AoE
Serum
Enhances Potency
Flex
Could be used to restore HP, SP, buff etc.

Entirely optional if you use max BP.
Whimsical Leaf is amazing to speed up turns
Broken Castti Buff Setup
Requirements:

  • Need to have found both Agnea and Castti's job shrines to unlock their primary EX skill.
  • Need to have completed both Agnea and Castti's full story and unlock both their secondary EX Skills.
  • Unlock Invigorate and Inspire Dancer passive skill on Castti and equip it on her.

Setup:

  • Use the previous Castti BP buff concoction to get everyone to max BP.
  • With Agnea cast "Sealticge's Seduction" on Castti.
  • Max Boost your BP with Castti and cast EX skill "Remedy". [This gives everyone 9 different buffs for a number of turns, 2-3]
  • With Agnea use her EX skill "Song of Hope". [This extends the duration of most of the buffs by 4 turns]

Cycle back to the BP Concoction and then back to this strategy and you'll basically turn Castti in to a Buff / BP bot for the entire battle.

Best NPC's To Guide & Hikari's Learned Skills
Location: Canalbrine
NPC: Cleric: Inside Canalbrine's Church, she's standing at the main alter. (Day Time)
Also in the far left room. (Night Time)
Ability: Divine Protection
Power: Grants Immunity to any ally for 1 - 4 turns depending on boost level. (This is a must have skill)

Location: Southern Ku Sands
NPC: Tough Warrior: Standing on the elevated area in the south west of Ku's entrance (Must finish Hikari's Story to have him spawn)
Ability: Crimson Slash
Power: Unleash a powerful sword attack on all foes, and deal fire-based damage. (This is a great sword ability if you're doing an elemental Hikari build but ultimately you want Limb from Limb)

Location: Timberain Castle: Town Square
NPC: Elderly Soldier: Far left side of the area, go down a set of stairs, guarding a tower.
Ability: Frenzied Fire
Power: Unleash a bow attack on all foes 4 to 8 times.

Location: Clockbank
NPC: Elderly Man: Top floor of the Pub on left side of city, must ambush guy in front of door at night with Throné to get access. (Day Time Only)
Ability: Fatal Fang
Power: Unleash a dagger attack on random foes 4 to 8 times, and have a set chance to poison them for 2 turns. (This skill couples amazingly well with the Dancer's Dagger which also has a chance to inflict additional status ailments)

Location: Nameless Village
NPC: Beastling: Go down the right stair case upon entering village, standing on a wooden plank, guarding a red chest.
Ability: Mythical Bore
Power: Consume all your SP, then unleash a polearm attack on a single foe. The more SP consumed, the more potent the attack. (If you're looking to keep Hikari's HP topped up in battle, this isn't a bad skill to use as a desperation move)

Best NPC's to Guide & Hikari's Learned Skills cont...
1 HP Alpione's Amulet Build Skills (End Game)

  • These skills are best used in conjunction with Alpione's Amulet and leaving Hikari at 1 HP to deal 99,999 damage.

  • Unlock the inventor skill "A Step Ahead" and equip it on Hikari so he can start setting up his buffs.

  • Learn and cast Divine Protection from the Cleric in Canalbrine to protect Hikari from being instant killed before the fight even starts.

  • For added damage equip the Giant's Club, as it increases the damage of physical based skills.

  • If you want to extend Hikari's special attacks to all targets cast Sealticge's Seduction with a Dancer on him.

Location: Montwise
NPC: Guard: Same guard you get the Battle-Tested Shield 2% Drop from, right up the stairs from the main entrance on the right.
Ability: Last Gasp
Power: Unleash a powerful sword attack on a single foe. The lower your HP, the more potent the attack. (Couples well with Alpione's Amulet but Limb from Limb is a much better attack)

Location: Timberain
NPC: Judge: In front of the court house. (Day Time Only)
Ability: Sentencing Gavel
Power: Unleash a staff attack on all foes 3 times.

Location: Stormhail: Sacred Guard's Headquarters
NPC: Sanctum Knight: Far left room, must knock out Knight in front of door to get access. (Day Time Only)
Ability: Limb from Limb
Power: Unleash a sword attack on a single foe 4 times. (This is the best sword skill in the game honestly, so if you have to choose one, THIS is the one you want)

Honorable Mentions

Location: New Delsta: Theater
NPC: Dolcinaea: Spawns after you complete Agnea's full story.
Main seating area on far left side, standing next to Veronica.
Ability: Dolcinea's Medley
Dance Session: All For You
Power: We want her for the Dance Session, specifically to be Allured by Agnea because it grants the target the ability to dodge 1 physical attack.

Location: Wellgrove: Alrond's Estate
NPC: Alrond: Spawns after finishing Partitio's full story.
Second floor of the house in the room directly across from main staircase. (Day Time)
Outside his estate in the front courtyard (Night Time)
Ability: Treasure Smell
Power: Basically a second Bewildering Grace without the chance at negative side effects. It can give you x2 EXP or x100 EXP, but it's random... and yes it stacks with a Dancer's Bewildering Grace ability, so you can get x200 EXP from a single battle.

Location: Alter of the Flamebringer
NPC: Cleric: Inside Church in Borderfall area, Alter of the Flamebringer
Ability: Stonebreaker's Gaze
Power: Restore HP to a single ally, and cure petrification. (This is great against the boss of the Sinking Ruins (Behemoth) outside of the Nameless Village. This skill is the only way to cure petrification. The only other way to prevent it is with a single accessory called the Divine Necklace)

Location: Winterbloom: Thieves Quarter
NPC: Thief: Standing right out in the open as you enter the area. (Day Time Only)
Ability: Shield Thief
Power: Reduce the Shield Points of a single foe by 1/2/3/4 regardless of their weak points, depending on boost level. (If you're going to use this skill, couple it with the SP Saver passive from the Conjurer job otherwise it chews through your SP at a whopping 80 per pop)

Dishonerable Mentions

Location: Stormhail: Sacred Guard's Headquarters
NPC: Sanctum Knight: 2nd floor of the building on the left side over looking the balcony.
Ability: Boost from Beyond
Power: Grant 1/2/3/4 BP to all allies except yourself, but become incapacitated.

Big Note: Some people think this is a good skill to use for Hikari but Castti is a much more efficient BP Battery. This skill requires you to use Hang Tough to resurrect Hikari from death as well as using BP in Adversity from the Inventor Job. It's honestly too much hassle to mess around with because Hikari's main focus is to deal damage, not be a BP totem... this is what support characters are for.

Farming Forbidden Elixirs (For 1HP Alpione's Amulet Builds)
Once you finish Ochette's full story you'll get access to a side quest in Gravell. The reward for the side quest is Alpione's Amulet which gives you +1200 HP but also increases the amount of damage you deal based on how low your HP levels are.

So at 1 HP you're pretty much doing 99,999 damage with most optimized builds. You can use skills like Divine Protection (Hikari Learned or NPC Cleric follower), Supreme Luck of the Cait (Ochette), the Cleric's support skill Rise Again, etc... to keep your character from being instant gibbed in battle.

Using forbidden Elixir's is a quick and dirty way to keep your character at exactly 1 HP.

  • Alternatively you can use the Cheat Engine Table[drive.google.com] shop editor to edit a healing item from a shop keeper in any village.

  • The code for Forbidden Elixirs is 10011... look for it in the drop down list, switch one of their times to the forbidden elixir, buy 99 of them and revert the item back to whatever it was prior.

  • The code for Ancient Cursed Talisman's is 11458. These can only be stolen off of the boss of the Sunken Maw after you defeat him and he starts spawning as a normal enemy. This encounter is rare as hell and you can only steal 1 per battle. These Talisman's lower the physical and elemental defense of enemies for 3 or 4 turns, great to use against bosses.

Enjoy!
NPC Spawn Locations
Certain NPC's will spawn in various locations around the world after you finish certain segments of the story. Some of their locations aren't noted, unless they have a side quest. So unless you're combing all the towns / areas again, it can be tough to find them.

Most of them all carry really valuable and rare gear and items and also have side quests attached. Some NPC's relocate after their side quests are over.

This section will detail where all these NPC's show up so you can easily locate them. The NPC's carrying the Battle-Tested Weapons are noted next to their names... so make sure to steal those items with Throné or purchase them with Partitio.
