MMX5: How to Guarantee Enigma Cannon Success, with 0 Parts, on EVERY Console!
By Fionordequester
This is useful for the "Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire" achievement, for speedruns, for getting the Good Ending without fighting the first 8 bosses, and for speeding up 100% item collection!

And no, this is not the Demo method used in PS1 & X Collection runs. This will work on EVERY version!

Quick Summary (watch the video for the full explanation)
Basically, we're doing a restart to reset something called the "Random Number Generator" (RNG). That, and some very specific (but easily executed) movement in Volt Kraken, will guarantee that we always roll the random numbers we need for the Enigma to destroy the Space Colony.

The exact movements you need to do depend on what version of the version you're playing — but essentially, they can be divided into three groups:

1) The original PS1 version

2) X-Collection for PS2 & GameCube, as well as Legacy Collection on PS4.

3) Every other version (Steam, Switch, & Xbox One)

The image below provides a quick visual for what to do for each version; but again, watch the video for everything you need to know.

List of Testers by Console
PS1: Bouser & Fionordequester

PS2: Fionordequester

GameCube: Fionordequester

PS4: Kino

Switch: B-0, Sotenga, & MisterMatthias

Steam: Lightbox & Fionordequester

Xbox One: NinjaDelphox
Regarding Rookie Hunter Mode
Rookie Hunter will not prevent this method from working. You just need to turn it off at the Stage Select screen — then you can turn it back on after the Enigma blows up the Colony :) !

Worked three times in a row, thank you so much for the tip! I thought you had to hold down the right and left arrow before starting to move 4 times, and then let the last 2 lives die, I was wrong, again thank you very much OddDo and all of you.
OddDo Feb 25, 2024 @ 6:11pm
Life 1: Hold RIGHT before the Ready display appears, and keep holding RIGHT until you die in the first pit
Life 2: Hold LEFT before the Ready display appears, and keep holding LEFT until you die in the first pit
Life 3,4,5,6: Don't move the bike, just let it fall in the first pit
Then fire the Enigma.

OddDo: So, from what I understand I only hold the right arrow before starting the level, then when I start I keep holding only the right arrow until I fall into the level, and then only at the end I press the left arrow? And the other 3 times, do I repeat it, or do I just do it the first time?

OddDo:
That's correct! That's exactly what I meant.

Viniz:
Yes, I can assist you on this. What console are you on?
OddDo Feb 13, 2024 @ 6:02pm
Well, whaddaya know, it actually worked, lol

Viniz:
I think, by "before gaining control" they actually mean "before the READY display disappears".

So you hold Right before the stage starts, and until you die; you basically move the bike to the rightmost position on screen.
Same with Left; moving the bike to the leftmost position on screen.
Then die 4 more times without moving the bike (that's for the Steam version).

This means you will have moved THE specific amount of frames needed for the RNG to work.

Hoping I've clarified it a bit for you.
