Introduction to The Medic Role
Being a Medic means you heal the injured and pick up downed Allies before they die, but it goes beyond just that. Knowing how HP mechanic works, how Abilities applies buffs, and efficiently perform heals and revives may make you a better Medic.
When You Can/Can't Regenerate HP:
When you can:
  • out of combat
  • mounted out of combat

When you can't:
  • in combat
  • mounted in combat
  • swimming
  • attacking
  • blocking
  • kicking
Build-A-Medic
The first priority when building a Medic is completely filling up the Medic Ability Skill tree. After then, you are free to chose what kind of Medic you'd want to be, which will depend on of the type of player you are. These are different types of Medics you can be:
  • Shield Medic - heals and shields
    • Allows higher blocking potential, letting Wounded Allies escape to heal up or regain stamina.
    • Focuses on using 1h weapons and shield to block incoming cleaves and safeguarding low-health Allies.
  • Battle Medic - 2h for heals, 2h for dmg deals
    • Best to cycle-in when the main force is low HP or stam'd out
    • Focuses on using 2h weapons to deal damage behind Allies
  • Archer Medic -
    • Best for staying in the back of fights building barricades and triage
    • Focuses on using Bowing to pick off low health enemies
    • Counters enemy archers
    • Provide intel to War Party (ex: troop numbers, activity, siege engines deployed, etc.)

Attributes & Abilities
As you progress through the game and complete quests, you will earn experience points (XP). These XP will help you to level up your skills and improve your abilities as a Medic.

Attributes
As a Medic, you'd want to have high amount of HP to absorb damage while helping Allies. Remember that:
  • +1pt CONS = .02 HP regen/sec

Abilities
It is best to max out the Medic Ability Skill tree ASAP. This will greatly increase your effectiveness and more dependability on the battlefield. It costs a total of 30 Ability pts and the benefits are immense for keeping Allies alive and fighting. Medics have a few Passive Abilities that will help them survive longer. These are its effects and its total at max level:

First Aid - Decreases the time required to revive downed Allies by 10%/LVL
  • at max: 50% less revive time
  • Costs 5pts to MAX

Battle Medic - increases HP of a revived player by 3%/LVL and +20% at LVL 10
  • at max: 50% HP of a revived player
  • Costs 10pts to MAX

Great Comeback - After you revive an Ally, all nearby Allies +10% HP regen for 3s/LVL, at max: additional +15s of HP regen
  • at max: after revive, +10% HP regen for 45s to all nearby Allies.
  • Costs 10pts to MAX

Focus - Taking damage doesn't interrupt reviving others, only stuns and staggers.
  • unlocks Mend ability: +40 HP without using bandage or compress, with 30 Charges that regenerates over-time.
  • A medic who uses a bandage on themselves gains +10 HP to Mend actions for a short time.
  • uses top-tier ability slot.
  • Costs 5pts to Level Once

Maxing out the all Medic Skill tree nets you:
  • -50% revive time
  • +50% HP of a revived player
  • after revives, +10% HP regen, for all nearby Allies for 45s
  • reviving without interruptions (except stuns and staggers)
  • unlocks Mend Ability (via Focus)
Total of 30 Ability pts
Game Settings
1. Go to Interface Settings - keep "Party: Medic Mode" checked:
  • this enables downed/dead Allies jumps to the top of the Party window
  • makes it easier to Revive Allies by R+Click their name > "Revive"
2. Go to Key Mapping
  • under Interactions, change 'Bandage Ally' key to somewhere comfortable because you will use this key often [default: Quote key]
Healing Kits and Usage
A Medic's primary role is to keep HPs high and Revive downed teammates. They accomplish this role by using either 2 of these healing items and 1 healing ability:
  • Simple Compress : heals +20 HP
  • Mend unlocked via The Focus Skill , heals +40 HP.
  • Bandage : heals +50 HP
  • All healing items will stop BLEED and BURN damage.

Order of Use
As long as you have these items in your inventory, Pressing 'Bandage Ally' key [default: Quote] will use up the following items in this order:
  1. 30 Mend Charges (+40 HP)
  2. Simple Compress (+20 HP)
  3. Bandage (+50 HP)

You cannot heal if
  • all 30 Mend charges are depleted
  • no healing items in the Inventory

  • Heal Wounded Allies as they cycle back from the frontlines.
  • Pick up any downed Allies.
  • Know when to heal/revive and when to fight.
  • Joining a guild can help you to connect with other players and coordinate your efforts during battles. You can also learn from experienced Medics in your guild and exchange tips and strategies.
  • Whatever you do: Stay ALIVE with the group and don't be alone!

When Healing:
These are some tips that will help make you a better healer:

Heal Yourself
  • Yes, even if in full HP, heal yourself to gain a buff that allows +10 HP to Mend actions for 30s. THEN heal others +10 HP more than if you didn't initially.
Heal In Cover
  • place crafted barracades, move siege manlets, and use buildings and the terrain to cover yourself from projectiles
BE the Cover
  • stand in front of critically injured (one-tap) Allies to block incoming projectiles while healing them
Stand Out at Parties
  • use a different symbol while in parties via Party Window
    • inform party which symbol you are as HEALER, ask other healers to follow suit, for coherency.
    • I like to use White Triangle for Triage.
    • You're free to use whatever you like.

    When Reviving:
    • if Ally's body has been 'ragdolled' out of place, locate the blood splatter on the ground to Revive.
    • look for '999' near downed Allies and Chat Window
      • '999' means "Urgent help needed / Officer down"
    • use the 'Cover Me' Command
      • signals that you're reviving someone
      • others may come to your aid
    • at max Great Comeback - after reviving, +10% HP regen for 45s, for all nearby Allies.

Special note about revives: Each time a player is revived, they receive a debuff which reduces the revived HP by half. After 4 revives, he cannot be revived again until the cooldown timer expires. An example of this is 500 HP for the first time he is revived, 250 for second revive, 125 for third revive, and 63 HP for 4th revive.

This is an excellent guide, as the World's Greatest Duelist, D_Artagnan, I approve this thorough and excellent guide. Medics are the unsung heroes of this game.
