General Tips
Recruits:
  • Having 12 recruits is not always a good thing.
  • If a recruit skips training for the week, he will recover a bit of Stamina and Stress.
  • You can push the recruits in the last week; low Stamina and Stress won't impact on the mission.

Traits:
  • After week 7, will come back recruits with easiest traits in order to help finishing the game.
  • At the beginning of each season the game chooses traits; you can reload the save if it the choosen traits are too difficult.

Mission:
When you run out of supplies your men suffer a penalty to the stats.

What does each stat impact during mission?
  • Strength: Capacity to carry supplies.
  • Melee: When the ammunition runs out...
  • Agility: For stealth operations.
  • Shooting: % to hit.
  • Intelligence: Affectiing reloading speed.
  • Discipline: Affect chance to flee in combat.

Always fails all training.

When Stress is more than 10, this recruit has 25% probability to fail in Strength, Agility and Melee trainings.

Obsessed with fire. When Stress is more than 25, this recruit has 15% probability to be injured.
May remove this trait at the punitive area.
If not removed, there is an added possibility of injury during missions.

Unstable
When Stress is more than 10, this recruit has 15% probability to be injured.
May remove this trait through Intelligence training.
If not removed there is a chance they will join the enemy.

Loses Stamina quickly.

Gamer
These are the worst recruits: lazy, insolent, flabby. They spend their whole existence playing and do not care much for personal hygiene. Some of them even fill the house with animals. If Stamina < 90 --> 30% probability to fail.
Strength, Agility and Melee trainings will eventually remove this trait.

Useful when put into front line behind a cover, so he can maximize his damage.

Logistic
For the earlier stage of the game when recruits' Strength are not too high yet.

Sniper
Weak if not placed behind a cover. Very good in combination with Machine Gun which
acts as a cover.
+5 Sniper Qualification at the Shooting Range
Diver
Very strong if the combat is on a swamp. Useful in the earlier stage of the game when recruits' Strength are not too high yet.
+5 Diver Qualification at the Swimming Pool
Scout
Useful to know how many covers are in a combat encounter.
+2 to Intelligence based training.
Mortar
Powerful after 3rd sector in which there are more enemies per combat and they are usually close together.
+3 to Shooting, -1 to Melee based training.
Assaulter
Can be always placed in the front line. His sneak bonus is useful for the non-combat events.
+2 to Agility, +2 to Melee, -1 to Strength, -1 to Shooting based training.
Antitank
Only useful against Tanks, in order to gather Prestige and Supplies.
+3 to Strength, -1 to Agility based training.
Machine Gunner
Best in combination with Sniper behind him.
+2 to Agility, +1 to Strength, -2 to Melee based training.
Paratrooper
Strong if placed behind enemy lines so he can make lot of kills in melee.
+2 to Agility, +2 to Melee, -1 to Strength, -1 to Shooting based training.

Dog
Feed the dog at least twice before adopting it as a mascot.
Colonel Kurtzen
If all recruits have Discipline > 30 they can clean the camp
High Command
Do any task from High Command
Young Jornalist
After the 3rd interview she can be recruited.
Veteran
He comes if a recruit survied from last mission. Any given answer will be provide the reward.
Reclutable people
Attention: you need a free slot at the camp; if you have already 12 recruits, no more are allowed.

Custom names
Warning: This feature is in beta.

Here you find the instructions how to customize the recruits' name in game.

1. Go in the Options menu and enable Custom Names.

2. Press the little "Export Template" button next to the Custom Name. A text file will be downloaded, put it whereever you want in your PC.

3. Edit that file by replacing the default names with yours. The file it's a simple text file and can be edited with the common programs like Notepad.exe

4. Uploaded the edited file with the "Import text file" button (same in the Options menu next to the Custom Names).

5. Now starts a new game and you'll find your custon names for the recruits.

General rules:
  • Only special characters from supported languages are allowed.
  • Max name length: 12 characters
  • The game will ignore more than 73 names in the file.

No, agility is used only in map events, not in combat. That +50% of covers is the same for everyone regardless of agility. In Full Metal Sergeant 2 I'm gonna improve that; agility will affect the number of movement squares during combat.

Does agility affect evade chance? For example, when behind cover it says +50% evade

Is there a way to see what each M.O.D requires as it's minimum skill level?

Diver and sniper need special training but some of the others just require that a certain stat be increased and it only shows that on a once weekly basis

i just wanted to ask is there a way to reorganise the recruits when they are in formation? It would make managing traits easier by letting you add multiple angry/poopoo heads to punitive training less tedious and help manage specialising troops

This is indeed the desided bahavior. Then you can edit even with Notepad and re-upload inside the game.

Nope, I had to actually export thefile to my desktop to get it to create it.

I hit export and it never creates a .txt file ANy help with that?

Check which stat they raise, it must match one of the training stats. The tooltip while dragging the recruit doesn't keep track for the assistant bonus, but after the training you can check the recruit's sheet stats.
