Muggles' Guide to the Wizarding World (Tips and Mods)

Here I have a few recommendations for mods and tip in your adventures in the weird and wondrous world that is this funky "magical community". Take this a "try this" more then a rule book. In the end you have to choose what to do. i make this spoilers free. So good for all. Updated 3/13/2023

Tips

-General tips

• Do alot of the main line quest asap so you can have alot of the tools to do alot of the side quest easily.
  
• Get a broom ASAP (See Broom tips for more)
  
• Ones you can get the ability to capture beast you can get all but 2 of the 13 beasts. (See Beast tips for more)
  
• Upgrading clothing will make them worth more.
  
• lower Rarity clothing is easier to upgrade but maxes out lower.
  
• Most items are over priced so buy the following.
  
• Enemy lose you instantly if you drink a Invisibility potion. They can still hit you.
  
• While flying spam REVELIO
  
• To minimize time crawling in a space try rolling into it most of the time you will skip the slow walk
  
• The lower the grade of gear the easier it is to up grade.

-What to buy (Priority List)

1. Any Broom (600 at cheapest) [you need 1]
   
2. Potting Table with Large Pot Spellcraft (1,000) [this can grow all sizes]
   
3. All Seed Packet (200+350+350+450+600+800+1,050=3800)
   
4. Phoenix feathers (700) and Graphorn Horn (700) [Untill you can farm them. If you are going to upgrade your gear. Skip if not.]
   
5. Dung Composter Spellcraft (1,000) [gives Fertiliser {make you get more out of your plants} every few mins]
   
6. Chopping Station Spellcraft (1,500) [gives random plant every few mins]
   
7. Hopping Pot Spellcraft (3,000) [gives random potion every few mins]
   
8. Material Refiner Spellcraft (1,500) [gives moonstone every few mins]
   
9. whatever you want

-Brooms Tips

• Get a broom ASAP! They are super useful.
  
• When getting a broom Spintwitches is the cheapest place to get one they all fly the same. What changes them is the upgrades.
  
• don't worry about crashing on a broom you are glued to that stick.
  
• You have unlimited boost for your broom when close to the ground/"floor"(roofs count as floors tree tops count).
  
• you can mount your broom almost any time. THIS CAN STOP FALL DAMAGE.
  
• Ones you get the broom I recommend finding Irondale (south east-ish of Hogsworth) and Pitt-Upon-Ford (North near that tower) you will buy need to buy Phoenix feathers and Graphorn Horn because you can't get them any where else for a while.
  
• Getting All the fast travel points asap help travel sooner then later.
  
• to get to the south most area you must go through a certain mine tunnel.

-Plants Tips

There are only two plants that required the large pots. Regardless, you can put any plant inside it. The downside to this is that it takes up the same amount of blocks, but if you're using the mods below. That wont matter.

-Beast Tips

• If you are going to upgrade you gear It's best to get at minimum 1 of each beast
  
• You can breed 1 male and 1 female and then sell the offspring for 120 coin same amount as capturing one.
  
• There is only one unicorn den.
  
• There is only one Graphorn den and they do not spawn till later.
  
• Some beast come out only at night.
  
• you can move while capturing. Also you can spam the capture button with no down side.

-Battle Tips

• Stupefy can break any shield. and you are fairly untouchable in that time. This does not apply in hard mode.
  
• When in doubt roll.
  
• Dueling feats are hints on what a enemy is weak to.
  
• You can regen some health out of combat.

-Potion Tier list

You may be asking why it is Wiggenweld Potion so low?
You can get the potion literally anywhere. Enemies will drop it. Dungeons will have it. And there will be randomly strewn across the map. They only have one use. If your damage you drink it to gain health. You could go through the whole game. Without needing it. Exempting the opening scene where it forces you to drink it. If you're out of combat, you already heal some health. And there's one perk that allows you to get healed the amount you did it dealt in damage. It doesn't change the game, it just prolongs the game state.

You may be asking why it is Invisibility Potion so high?
When playing the game, invisibility is incredibly helpful. If you're overwhelmed by too many people, drink the potion and they forget you exist. Need a little extra damage? Followed up with Mandrake. you're completely invisible during the whole of the potions effect. So you can Sprint. While invisible up to your enemies and hit them with petrificus totalus. This makes three of the four upgrades in this style tree Useless. unlike Wiggenweld, you can change the game state. Think of it like this, Wiggenweld is a plus two in uno. Invisibility Potion is a pot of greed in yu-gi-oh.

-100%-ing tips

• You cant get all the Foo Flames until you get a mission to learn how to unlock locks
  
• You can get all but 2 of the magical beast 1 is got via the story .
  
• Ever wonder why you can't get all the achievements by doing literally everything? You have to play the other houses. To get all the achievements. Each house has their own special, unique mission.

Why: This reduces a lot of the timer. Like who is going to wait 2 mins for 1 potion. you work your ass/wait like 15 mins for the parts to wait like 1 more min to make 1 thunderbrew. I think waiting=/=fun

Vivarium Upgrado (Rescue All Animals)

Notes:
Why: You only get 12 slots for 4 species in each room. Lets do some math there are 12 races of beast you need 1 male and 1 female to breed them. 2 times 4 is 8 but each beast has color variants and super rare variants ignoring the color for now 8 time 2( for 1 non rare and 1 for the super rare variants) makes 16 meaning looking at this we are way above the max number already but then consider to bread you need ONE open slot so 16+1 so 17 before color variants adding color variants looking at mooncalf I have seen 4 (maybe five) colored variants (going on 4) 4*16 so 64 slots are needed to hold them. Then add 1 for the offspring. But if you want to hold all and offspring of all then thats is 64 (variants/breeds) + 64 (offspring) meaning you need a total of 128. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! Some side quest you can get a (pre-)named beast (I do not know how many they are but lets say 1+1+1+1+1=5 from my count) so 128 + 5 making a new total of 133... So ether give up catching them all or get this mod. And one more for that fire bird 134

Unlock Gear Limit Capacity

Why: If you a collection freak who hates selling clothing then take this. At max in game you get 40 slots.

Movement Mod

Why: Sometime you walk in to a shop you hit what feels like a pool of molasses. So this should help hitting those speed bumps.

Free Fly Mod

Why: This allows you to fly anywhere.there are areas that feel like you should be able to fly this allows that.

How to Mod (Simple)

What you need:

-The mod
-a "un-zip-er" aka a extractor

1. extract your mod

Tip: It helps if you organize you files like having a modding folder. I like to extract each mod to it's own folder.
Important:
Please look the the last 3 letter of the file. If it has a pak then FOLLOW 2a. If it's a ini then go to 2b.

2a. go to your local game file (Hogwarts Legacy)

example: <Drive letter>: ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy

Tip: if you go to your game click the gear on the right side it will open a "drop down menu" click property

3a. You will need to go to the following folders Phoenix > Content > Paks

So it will look like this,
example: <Drive letter>: ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks

Important: For first time modding of this game you NEED TO MAKE A FOLDER NAMED "~mods"
example: <Drive letter>: ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods

4a. move the pak in to the ~mods

Tip: some other mods may need to be placed else where in the end READ THE MOD PAGE.
<Drive letter>:\Users\'namehere'\AppData\AppData\Local

2b. go to your AppData\Local folder

Tip: use the run command(windows+"R") to find this faster with %appdata% this will drop you at AppData\Roaming so just change Roaming to local

3b. go to your AppData\Local folder

example: <Drive letter>:\Users\'namehere'\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

4b. move the ini in to the WindowsNoEditor

Note: some mods work only in a new game. :/
