The whole point is dying over and over again and slowly building up your unlocked weapon traits, certain equipment, artefacts, ether etc.
It's much more interesting doing it yourself instead of looking it up and finding out.
(btw, "fauna" are animals, "flora" are plants)
P.S. With my first play/run, I've managed to first Boss, and died in half of stage 3... 😈
- If you're already at full health, ALWAYS pick up any health you find because it will extend your maximum health bar if you pick up enough. Maximum total integrity is always better than saving something you *might* need later.
- When buying items, prioritize *large* health kits and Astronaut one-ups. You're often building for a boss fight, not for room fights.
- Save ether for the Reconstructor first (6-7), then malignant items. Losing out on a malignant key, for example, is better than losing a run.
- Always prioritize killing turrets and smaller enemies before taking on the big ones. Flying enemies take immediate priority.
- Nearly all bosses are medium to long range fights. Prefer weapons that do excellent sustained damage. Carbine and Hollowseeker are your friends. Great perk pools plus flexibility.
Then statues with glowing eyes, obelisks, ice chunks, purple tentacles and orange egg sacks can spawn obolites.
In secret areas purple tentacles and orange egg sacks can drop obolite stacks that don't disappear, resin, silphium, consumables, ether. (obolite stacks also appear outside of secret areas)
Purple tentacles can drop parasites and malignant resin and silphium. (everywhere, think these stuff can drop pretty much anything anywhere, besides weapons or artefacts)
Vines drop obolites when not running or just dashing into them, but every other type of damage gives a chance for obolites to drop.
