Now we can start!
Stuttering problems
the game unfortunately suffers from continuous stuttering regardless of what hardware you have and this unfortunately if not with future patches can not be fixed at the moment. (the game loads the shaders at first start so it is other technical problems)

DLSS GHOSTING AND UGLY TEXTURES fix
the game uses an old version of DLSS, so if you support it you just go here ⬇️
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
download this file⬇️

insert the file nvngx_dlss.dll in the folder (yourdrive): SteamLibrary steamapps common Dead Space (2023)
confirm copy and replace
⚠️in case you don’t understand I leave you a video attached on how to do⚠️

ANTI ALIASING TAA
TAA LOW and TAA HIG have the same visual quality and also the same fps for this I recommend hig.

DLSS and FSR 2.0
DLSS and FSR remove shamering a lot but with FSR you lose a lot of quality in some textures
Stock DLSS in game does the exact same thing, but if you manual update DLSS as I explained above to the new version you will see much better like native resolution
Variable Rate Shading (vrs) OFF or ON?
As you can see this option drastically lowers the quality of the textures for this I invite you to keep the VRS off
Light Quality
Sometimes setting the light quality to low can cause this effect of complete darkness for this reason never set the light to low
as for the rest there are NO visible differences by setting the quality between medium and ultra for this I recommend medium
Shadow Quality
this setting in this game works in a slightly different way
does not change the quality of the shadows of the map and not even those of the detected objects or those of the character

This option affects contact shadows only as you can see from these images⬇️
For this change preset option does not have a big impact on performance. I recommend medium or high
Reflection Quality
the reflections in this game are not done very well as you can see they are very grainy as well to ultra
setting the reflections to medium will decrease this grainy effect and increase your fps for this I recommend medium
Volumetric Resolution
this option only changes the fog resolution.
and this game has many fog effects and needs a lot of them for its gloomy atmosphere in fact you will see these effects everywhere

Ultra will make you drop the performance very much without a justified graphic change for this I suggest you to set it to Medium or low to save as many fps as possible in case you need
Ambient Occlusion SSAO or RTAO?
RTAO is the only ray tracing option available on this game and we can say that of the 2 is definitely the best.
but SSAO does its job anyway and covers all surfaces pretty well.
in conclusion if you have an RTX with dlss you can try to use the option RTAO ray tracing otherwise SSAO is more than fine
Depth Of Field
this effect is more related to game cutscenes
for this both options are fine as they will not make you lose fps during gameplay
Dynamic Resolution Scale
DO NOT use this setting as it will not give any benefit in terms of fps even if set to 60. However this option will only make you play at a very low resolution and with a questionable quality
Optimized Settings vs Ultra preset
-Light Quality:
MEDIUM

-Shadow Quality
:MEDIUM OR HIG

-Reflection Quality
:MEDIUM

-Volumetric Res
: LOW OR MEDIUM

-Ambient Occlusion
:SSAO but use RTAO if you can (rtx gpu)

-TAA
: HIG

⚠️⚠️NOTE!⚠️⚠️
If you want to use DLSS make sure to manual update it as I showed you above
RESIZEBAL-BAR on for fps boost?
Yes this game without resizable bar active could make you lose many fps in case you have not already activated I leave you this guide on how to activate it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=henhYtiyrGs&ab_channel=BenchmarKing
in case you have doubts and do not want to download programs unnecessarily I show you how to check if it is active or not

right click on your desktop and open nVIDIA control panel

click sistem information in the upper left

and here if it says ACTIVE it means you don’t have to download anything else

Using FSR is pretty bad on my system for no benefit that I've seen. Textures are blurry and many of the holograms and screens have this weird blurring or duplicating effect that makes them look awful. Using TAA gives crisp, detailed textures. I'm not sure what the OP is referring to in terms of "shamering" (I couldn't find any reference to this elsewhere), but I haven't noticed any graphical issues using TAA. Regardless, thank you OP for taking the time to compare these settings.

my 4060 laptop runs perfectly with ultra settings and rtao,at 2560×1600 resolution fps can be around 60-90

On a 2060 gaming laptop from costco 2019, this game is a masterpiece. dont forget to use drivers that work, and keep up with your specified technical drivers. :steamsalty:

>>DO NOT use this setting as it will not give any benefit in terms of fps even if set to 60. However this option will only make you play at a very low resolution and with a questionable quality<<

it just requires proper configuration. it goes by your refresh rate as a target NOT frame rate so you need to be aware of that

with high refresh rates simply set it to 50% or i think you can do 25%.

so with 120hz refresh, set to 50% now it's only trying to achieve 60fps, which is more than achievable

and it DOES work, just only to a point. it's best used if you are just under say 60 fps and need a small boost.

and VRS appears broken in the screenshots, because it should NOT be degrading textures like that that are right smack in your point of view and its NOT that extreme. what it does us reduce shading quality on surfaces that are not directly in view that don't need to be at 100% quality, such as to the edges of your screen or in the distance

Had the same issue as BloodReaver below, tried downgrading the DLSS version from latest one by one, and stopped at 3.1.2 which doesn't have any smearing
BloodReaver 6 MAR 2023 a las 1:08 p. m.
I cannot recommend the latest version of DLSS. It leads to significant "smearing" for me! The best way to see it is when you tunr the "cutting" direction on the plasma cutter. With DLSS 2.5.1 I have 0 smearing effects!
