GTA III Story Missions
Claude, the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto III, walks his way up through the mafia ladder of the crime-ridden Liberty City. Throughout his journey, he must complete missions and tasks for friends, foes, and acquaintances, all of which are required for 100% completion of GTA III.


Complete all 50 Storyline Missions
Play through the story of Claude by completing all 50 main story missions, from Give Me Liberty to The Exchange.

WARNING: GTA III has 10 missable missions that will become permanently inaccessible if you play them in the wrong order. If you want to achieve 100% completion and make sure you don't miss any of these missions, you must:

• Complete all the Joey's and Luigi's missions before playing "Last Requests" for Salvatore
  
• Complete all the Kenji Kasen missions before playing "Waka-Gashira Wipeout!" for Donald Love
  
• Complete "Two-Faced Tanner" before playing "Grand Theft Aero" for Donald Love

Complete all 17 Pay Phone missions
They can be accessed at different payphones on the three islands in Liberty City, and are given by El Burro, Marty Chonks, King Courtney, and D-Ice.


GTA III Side Missions & Activities
Claude can take part in, completing off-road missions to impersonating firefighters and paramedics. All of the following tasks must be done for 100% completion of GTA III.

Complete all 4 Vehicle Sub-Missions

• Firefighter: extinguish a total of 60 fires (20 on each island)
  
• Paramedic: reach and complete Level 12
  
• Vigilante: take down a total of 60 criminals (20 on each island)
  
• Taxi Driver: complete a total of 100 Taxi Fares

GTA III 100% Completion Rewards
Completion of Grand Theft Auto III does not directly reward the player with any benefits, but the activities completed to achieve 100% completion offer several rewards, such as:

• Pick-ups for every gun, and pick-ups for armor, health, and police bribes at the player's safehouse.
  
• Infinite sprint ability
  
• Pick-ups for a great number of vehicles at the Import/Export garages
  
• The Borgnine Taxi

Plus, obtaining 100% Completion in GTA III unlocks the achievement "Is That All You’ve Got?".

Warning: GTA III 100% Completion Glitches


There are two potential glitches in GTA III that could prevent you from achieving 100% Completion. When playing through the game, be careful about these issues:

GTA III 100% Achievement Glitch: Do not leave the phone mission "Kingdom Come" until last. If this is your final item for 100% completion, the achievement "Is That All You’ve Got?" will not pop despite having 100% completion in your stats. Make sure you leave something else as your last objective to complete.

GTA III Purple Nines Glitch: After completing D-Ice's phone mission "Rumble", the Purple Nines gang members disappear from the city, which is intended. However, the issue is that their absence carries over when you start a new playthrough, which would stop you from achieving 100% completion on that new game file. If you need to start a new playthrough, make sure to first delete all of your saves - or alternatively, reload an existing save from the beginning of the game instead. (Also feel free to back up your saves in a different folder before you delete them.)

GTA 3 Missions List: All Story Missions Portland

There are 67 missions in total in the story-line of Grand Theft Auto III, with 50 main missions plus 17 optional Pay Phone Missions which are not required for story progression. However, the Phone missions are still necessary for 100% completion of the game.

The GTA 3 missions below are listed in chronological order, grouped by the Location/Area they take place in, and the walk-through also applies to the GTA III Definitive Edition.

Warning: Missable Missions in GTA 3
Generally, since some missions from different contacts become available at the same time, they can be played in a slightly different order.

However, GTA III has 10 missable missions that will become permanently inaccessible if you play them in the wrong order. If you miss these missions, you can still progress through the story, but you will be locked out of achieving 100% completion on the current save file.
If you want to achieve 100% completion and make sure you don't miss any of these missions, you must:

Complete all the Joey's and Luigi's missions before playing "Last Requests" for Salvatore
Complete all the Kenji Kasen missions before playing "Waka-Gashira Wipeout!" for Donald Love
Complete "Two-Faced Tanner" before playing "Grand Theft Aero" for Donald Love
I will list the GTA 3 missions in the correct order below and mark the MISSABLE missions. I would strongly advised to make multiple save files that you can go back to in case you made a mistake and accidentally skipped a mission.


Portland Missions
Below you find the list of GTA 3 Missions taking place on the island of Portland. There are 22 main missions in this section before Staunton Island is unlocked. There are also 8 Pay Phone missions in Portland.

1. Give Me Liberty

It's the 1° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Portland..
Claude is betrayed by his partner Catalina, leading to incarceration and a prison break. Now isolated on Portland Island, Claude and 8-Ball consider their next steps.

2. Luigi's Girls

Luigi asks Claude to pick up one of his girls, Misty, from the clinic.


3. Don't Spank Ma ♥♥♥♥♥ Up

Claude kills a local drug dealer to obtain his car for Luigi.

5. Pump-Action Pimp

6. The Fuzz Ball

This achievement can be missed so it's advised to make a save before starting this mission. It can be attained on the mission "THE FUZZ BALL" (Luigi's 5th mission) Here is a video where the location of Coach is a route you can take.

7. Mike Lips Last Lunch

Joey is owed money by the Forelli brothers. He wants Claude to help him with some payback.

Warning: Missable Achievement Without a Scratch, Once you steal his car from the Bistro, just drive carefully making sure not to crash into anyone or anything.
It's the 7° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Portland. It becomes available after completing Drive Misty For Me.

8. Farewell 'Chunky' Lee Chong

Claude is instructed by Joey to kill Lee Chong.

This achievement can be missed so it's advised to make a save before starting this mission. It's Joeys 2nd mission we need to grab chunkies car and plant a bomb in it using 8 balls garage. I found a video of the mission/achievement.

Portland Pay Phone Missions (El Burro & Marty Chonks)
These are all optional missions, but it is required for 100% completion of the game.


23. Phone Mission 1 Turismo
is an optional Pay Phone mission in GTA 3, given to Claude by El Burro.

It's the 23° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Portland. It becomes available after completing 9th mission called Van Heist.

24. Phone Mission 2 - I Scream, You Scream
Claude bombs a group of gang members using an ice-cream van.


25. Phone Mission 3 - Trial By Fire

Triads have stolen one of El Burro's cars and burned it. Return the favour by burning them.


26. Phone Mission 4 - Big'N Veiny

Collect some magazines that have been stolen.

27. Phone Mission 5 - The Crook
Marty Chonks


Marty Chonks Pay Phone does not have a blip on the map. It's located outside of his factory in Trenton, near Joey's Garage, and it only rings between 9:00 to 19:00.
It's the 27° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Portland. It becomes available after completing Drive Misty For Me.


Marty wants Claude to have a "chat" with someone.

28. Phone Mission 6 - The Thieves
Two thieves need dealing with.


29. Phone Mission 7 - The Wife
Mrs. Chonks is causing money problems that Marty wants sorting.


30. Phone Mission 8 - Her Lover
Mrs. Chonks was having an affair. Deal with her lover.

Staunton Island Missions

Access to the third island, Shoreside Vale, is unlocked after completing A Drop In The Ocean.

Asuka needs some FBI dealing with.

Paparazzi have been snooping around in the Yakuza's business.


26. Payday For Ray
Asuka needs a payment delivered.


27. Two-Faced Tanner

Only one main story mission happens in Shoreside Vale Island, which is the very final mission of GTA 3. In addition, there are also 5 Pay Phone missions taking place in Shoreside Vale.

Pay Phone Missions (Optional)
However, if you want to achieve 100% completion, it is strongly advised to play these missions as soon as available on the respective island. The more you progress through the story, the more gangs will become increasingly hostile to you, which will make it a lot harder to complete these missions.

In particular, make sure to complete all Portland's phone missions before "Sayonara Salvatore", as after that mission Mafia will make your life really difficult in Portland.

50. The Exchange

The Exchange is the 67° and final mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Shoreside Vale. It becomes available after completing Ransom.

Phone Mission 14 - Toyminator
Destroy three Securicars.

It's the 59° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Shoreside Vale. It becomes available after completing Uzi Money.

Phone Mission 15 - Rigged to Blow
A car rigged with a bomb needs defusing.

• Get to the garage but watch out if the car takes too much damage it will blow!
  
• Get the car repaired!
  
• Take the car back it has to be in perfect condition - no damage!
  
• Get out of the vehicle!

It's the 60° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Shoreside Vale. It becomes available after completing Toyminator.

Phone Mission 16 - Bullion Run
Claude needs to collect some platinum bullion pieces.

• Get a vehicle!
  
• Head to the location where the cargo is scattered, you need to collect 30 pieces of bullion.
  
• Remember when the vehicle come too heavy and slow goto the garage and drop off the cargo.

It's the 61° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Shoreside Vale. It becomes available after completing Rigged to Blow.

Phone Mission 17 - Rumble
Clear out the remaining Purple Nines members.

It's the 62° mission in GTA III in chronological order, and it takes place in Shoreside Vale. It becomes available after completing Bullion Run.

Side Missions Guide

These include the classic vehicles-based Sub-Missions (such as Vigilante, Firefighter, Paramedic and Taxi Driver), 4 RC Toyz Missions, 4 Off-Road Challenges, and other extra activities in GTA 3.

It is strongly advised to complete these missions as soon as possible on each island. The more you progress through the story, the more gangs will become hostile to you, which will make it a lot harder to complete these tasks.

Firefighter

FIREFIGHTER - MISSION DETAILS:
The Firefighter side mission can be toggled on or off at any time while driving a Fire Truck.

The player has to extinguish 20 fires on every island, adding up to 60 fires in total. The fires can be put out by using the Fire Truck's water hose. The locations of the fires are indicated on the mini map after each fire is extinguished.

It is not necessary to do 20 fires in a row, you just need to put out 20 fires on each island in total.

FIREFIGHTER: REWARD
After successfully completing the side-mission, the player will find a Flamethrower at every hideout.


Paramedic

PARAMEDIC - MISSION DETAILS:
The Paramedic side mission can be toggled on or off at any time while driving an Ambulance.

The player has to locate, pick up and deliver patients to the hospital within a time limit. The hospital is always the closest to where the player started the side mission, and each new level adds one new patient to collect.

The Ambulance can carry up to three patients at a time, meaning multiple trips to the hospital will be required for higher levels.

The side mission can be failed by leaving the Ambulance, if the Ambulance gets destroyed, or by killing a patient. A patient can be killed from driving the Ambulance too recklessly. Failing the missions requires the player to begin from level 1.

It is strongly advised to complete the Paramedic mission as soon as possible in Portland or Staunton Island. The more you progress through the story, the more gangs will become hostile to you, which will make it a lot harder to complete this mission.

PARAMEDIC: REWARD

Every level awards the player with an amount of money, calculated by the formula $100 × x2, where x is the current level. Therefore, the player receives $100 for level 1, $400 for level 2, up to $14,400 for level 12.

There are additional rewards for reaching certain milestones in the Paramedic side-mission.

• Rescuing 43 patients will have a health pickup be present at all safehouses.
  
• Rescuing 78 patients will have an Adrenaline pickup be present at all safehouses.
  
• Completing level 12 will award the player with infinite sprint.

Taxi Driver

TAXI DRIVER - MISSION DETAILS:
The Taxi Driver side-mission can be toggled on or off at any time while driving a Taxi.

The mission requires the player to drive passengers to specific locations within a time limit, for a cash reward. Once a pedestrian enters the vehicle, the destination is displayed on-screen and is marked by a blip on the radar.

If the player runs out of time, exits the Taxi or damages it too badly, the passenger will flee. It's possible to repair a damaged Taxi at Pay 'n' Spray to resume collecting passengers.

TAXI DRIVER: REWARD
Every fare will award the player an amount of cash.

Completing 100 total fares will unlock the Borgnine cab to spawn at the Borgnine Taxis company in Harwood.

Vigilante

VIGILANTE - MISSION DETAILS:
he Vigilante side mission can be toggled on or off at any time while driving a Law Enforcement Vehicle.The player has to chase down and kill criminals that are indicated in-game through the police dispatcher within a time limit. The criminals spawn in vehicles and will flee, but can also attack the player.

If the criminal's vehicle catches fire or is held in place, the occupant will bail out and run or attempt to acquire a new vehicle. As the player completes more levels, the targets will wield stronger weapons.

The mission will fail if the player remains outside of a Law Enforcement vehicle for over 60 seconds, dies, the timer runs out, or the player is arrested. It is important to note that Vigilante does not grant immunity from the police, which will often pursue the player, making the mission a lot harder.

VIGILANTE: REWARD
Completing 10 Total Criminal Kills on an island will award 1 Police Bribe at every Hideout.
Completing 20 Total Criminal Kills on an island will award 1 extra Police Bribe at every Hideout.
Killing 20 Criminals on each island will award a total of 6 Police Bribes at the player's Hideouts.

Off-Road Challenges
A Ride in the Park

The "A Ride in the Park" side-mission is an off-road mission, where the player has to collect 12 checkpoints before the time runs out. The mission is triggered by entering the parked Landstalker near the barn in Belleville Park.
A timer starts once the first checkpoint is collected, and every checkpoint hit adds a 10-second bonus to the timer, up to 120 second to complete the mission.

The Gripped! side-mission is an off-road mission, where the player has to collect 20 checkpoints before the time runs out. The mission is triggered by entering the parked Patriot at a picnic place in Wichita Gardens, Shoreside Vale.
A timer starts once the first checkpoint is collected, and every checkpoint hit adds a 15-second bonus to the timer, up to 5 minutes to complete the mission.

Multistorey Mayhem

The Multistorey Mayhem side-mission is a checkpoint mission, where the player has to collect 20 checkpoints before the time runs out.
The mission is triggered by bringing and entering a Stallion front of the Newport Multistory Car Park in Newport, Staunton Island.
A 20-second timer starts once the mission begins, and every checkpoint hit adds a 5-second bonus to the timer, adding up to 2 minutes to complete the mission.

Patriot Playground

The Patriot Playground side-mission is an off-road mission, where the player has to collect 15 checkpoints before the time runs out. The mission is triggered by entering the parked Patriot in the Supa Save! parking lot in Portland View.
A 20-second timer starts once the first checkpoint is collected, and every checkpoint hit adds a 20-second bonus to the timer, up to 5 minutes to complete the mission.

Import/Export

Import/Export is a side-mission where the player is required to deliver specific vehicles to certain garages and cranes for a sum of cash.

There are three Import/Export locations: the Portland Docks Garage, the Portland Docks Crane, and the Pike Creek (Shoreside Vale) Garage. Each location requires different vehicles and pays out a different reward.

After delivering all vehicles required for a certain garage/crane, floating pick-up icons will appear at the delivery location, allowing you to select and use any of those GTA 3 vehicles immediately, free of charge.

The Portland Docks requests vans, trucks, and various industrial/commercial vehicles.

Rampages

required for 100% completion
Rampage icons are marked with a white skull in a blue circle - there are 20 Rampages in total, 6 in Portland, 7 in Staunton Island, and 7 in Shoreside Vale. Rampages can be started at any point during the game, and each one has two different spawn locations, locations that alternate if failed.

It is strongly advised to complete the Rampages as soon as possible on each island. The more you progress through the story, the more gangs will become hostile to you, which will make it a lot harder to complete them.

There are 100 Hidden Packages to be found scattered throughout Liberty City. Each 10 hidden packages collected offer the player unique rewards and weapons spawning outside of Claude's safehouses.

they fixed the pruple 9 bug i guess. I had to start a new game because it was impossible for me to do the ambulance mission for last item to get 100%...So i started a new game and kept the old savegame. I used that savegame to check about that glitch or if i can just continue do the same shit again. I used the flying cars to go over the brigdes after the mission luigis girl and i see the purple 9s spawn in shoreside. Its not really neccessary to delete other savegames.

This is a good guide with all the info a person needs for the game but the way the side missions and payphone missions are laid out makes it hard to 100% this in order of top to bottom.

I got the payphone missions done but I feel like the fire truck missions are going to be the end of me with the ultra mafia on the loose.

... additionally, in your guide under the staunton island phone missions you went from 9, 10, 11, skipped 12 and went to 13 (assuming this was a typo) but the problem is that 13 doesn't exist. it should be just 12 with d-ice ending at rumble with 17. this would make the grand total 67 story missions (including phone missions) completed. now the big beef i have with this achievement guide is all the achievements that were missed. finally, what is needed to hit 73 missions? i am curious what other side missions and/or activities will give you the remaining 6 that you need. i looked over the guide several times and it simply isn't there.

there are multiple errors in this guide, i'm surprised that this is one of the only "complete 100% achievement guides" for this game. for starters; you linked the same video twice. you did so correctly for the fuzzball mission/achievement but then linked the same video for chunky lee chong. for some reason you decided to duplicate portland's bomb da base (act 1 & 2) twice. also you say there is 22 main missions and 8 pay phone missions in portland making that number 30. this is deceptive; the 1st mission "give me liberty" technically isn't a mission counted in the in-game stats menu, i even confirmed this by starting a new game, it only gives you credit for 1 mission completed AFTER you complete luigi's girls. in this guide for some reason you double input the name of the mission giver every single time going down the entire list. why? i checked several other guides and a big portion of this has been copy and pasted from gtabase.
