Prelude
Like most people here, I don't have friends, so every now and then, I get slightly peeved when I have to pair up with random people online to complete Raids, as it can be quite difficult to complete all 7 battles when there's no cohesion between party members, and a single person can completely ruin your run.

To that effect, I decided to give some basic tips and pointers, in the hopes of helping everyone marginally improve their odds of succeeding all their future Party Battles, and make the experience smoother for you and all your comrades of fortune.
Basic Preparations

This is more than likely the most important step of all, but it's a very basic one. Before starting a Party Battle, you want to make sure you always start with the skills Health Regeneration and Health Up, Level 6 is prefered, but if you understandably don't want to do the Story Mode for it, buy the Level 5 version at the store. Too poor to buy it? You can easily download a certain mod [gamebanana.com] that makes everything in the store available for free.

Health Regeneration is absolutely vital, and if no one in the party has it, you might as well not even play. It's the only skill in this mode that affords you the longevity required to be able to go through all seven battles without dying of attrition as ennemies get tougher and hit harder with every subsequent fight.

You want to pair it with Health Up because no matter how much you heal, in the later fights, the AI can very easily kill you from a single hit confirm as it generates meter for free and deals damage roughly equivalent to a nuke.

(The following additionnal information is optionnal but goes into comparing skill effectiveness, it's fairly lengthy so feel free to skip it if you're not interested, the most important point's been covered already.)

DO NOT USE Partial Drain or Defense Up, as Partial Drain's recovery is pitiful, doesn't work passively the same way Health Regen does, and barely returns anything on investment. You'll also recover less and less health the longer your combos are as the damage will scale down dramatically with every hit. More on that later. This Skill just isn't worth it.

Defense Up isn't as awful as Partial Drain is, but the HP boost offered by Health Up far outweights the defense percentage bonus that Defense Up provides, making it redundant and less effective.

For the same scaling reasons, you might want to avoid using Attack Up or Special Attack Up, as the damage bonus is barely even noticeable and will drastically lose effectiveness the more hits per combo you make.

A good third option, would be to bring either Ki Fill Rate Up or Assist Fill Rate Up, as having more Ki is always useful in order to be able to do Guard Cancels, Super Z-Changes, Vanish to prolong a combo or to avoid a raw super from the AI and so on, and having faster access to assists enables you to be generally safer when trying to open up the AI, do more damaging combos, or enabling you to switch more readily on the spot if you're in trouble.

You could also just bring up a second Health Regeneration to insure being able to stay in the game longer, or to allow a previously downed teammate to actually recover some health in the next fight without having to wait for the meager victory health boost.

This might sound cheap, but because of the extreme stats and number tweaking the AI gets in this mode, it's fair to say that the skills will tremendously carry you.
Fighting Etiquette
I'll try to keep this one short because I've just realised how lengthy this is already, and I'm also getting pretty tired, so I'll try to highlight some basic things to do or to avoid.

Tag respectfully

This is immensely important, and the one thing you should always keep in mind, since you can't communicate with your team mates, you need to give them a head start before you plan on handing the controller over to them, and the best way to do that is to simply perform an Ultimate Z Change after a Super so that they have time to adjust and are put in a neutral position that won't be disadvantageous to them.

Even if you're low on health, never tag another person unsafely, you'll make your team mates hate you and they're highly at risk of getting killed the second they enter the fight before they can even do anything.

Your best option is simply to perform an Ultimate Z Change as mentionned above, but if you don't have the meter for it or can't super safely for some reason, you can always switch to them while you're doing a lengthy special that forces the ennemy in hitstun where they can't retaliate.
A good exemple of that would be something like Vegito's 236 (Spiral Heel Shot) that allows your teammate to combo off of it, or at least, not get pulverized on entry.

If you can't do that, you could also use Spark to get the AI off of you and to recover your blue health, but this is a very important ressource that you should do your best to keep, so only use this as a last ressort or if the fight's almost over to get your health back before the next fight.

No need to be flashy

While fighting the AI sounds like a good opportunity to lab some cool combos, in the later fights, try to avoid lengthy combos, as your damage will scale horribly the longer you keep up, and with the massive health pools the AI has, you're just wasting time as well as giving it free meter that it can use to ToD you. Stick to basic B&Bs, try to reset often to get the highest possible damage, and don't spend all your meter, you want to keep some for you and your allies' safety.

Avoid using your assists too often as the AI can very easily punish it or wish you a happy birthday, and you'll upset everyone.

Use the gosh darn dragon balls

This should be common sense but most people seem to forget this. If your allies go down, try your best to revive them, it's important, it's effective, and it should be your priority.

Now, just a quick reminder on how the dragon ball system works; You get a dragon ball everytime you land a combo, with its number corresponding to how many hits your combo has (1 Star Dragon ball for 10 to 19 hits, 2 Stars for 20 to 29 hits, so forth and so on.), but you also get one random dragonball everytime you simply mash your auto-combo, or if you perform Gogeta's 22 move (Plus Energy of Justice), this also works if you're using Gogeta's C Assist.

Once you have all the dragon balls, you need to have 7 bar of meter and perform an auto-combo in order to summon Shenron and bring back your ally.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but avoid tagging your recently revived ally back into the fight, as sometimes the game will consider them only having 1HP left, despite the HUD showing them at around 30% Health. Treat them as if they were out for this fight unless there's no other option.

Hopefully, if you bring two Health Regen skills, and you tag them in safely, they might be able to recover all their health

General tips to help you win and make you 100% sexier

I've already covered most of what you should know, but there's a couple of miscellaneous advices that I didn't know where else to cram, so here they are.

It's been mentionned earlier already, but I feel like I really need to put an emphasis on this; do not activate your Spark all willy-nilly, it's an extremely important ressource and you only have one per fight, unless you decide to be a jerk and wish for a second Spark instead of reviving your allies. Spark lasts longer the less people in your team are left, and ideally, it's best to use it if you're the last one standing.
At best, you should only use Spark to avoid getting downed, to kill two characters at once if you manage to perform a happy birthday, or to offer a massive needed boost to the last player standing.

To that effect, consider tagging out and leaving things to your buddies for a while instead of Sparking if you have a lot of blue health to recover. Sometimes, toughing it out, even with Health Regen, just isn't gonna work, and you should wait in the bench for your next opportunity.

You should also generally avoid using Raw Supers, especially level 3 Supers, as they only deal blue health damage, which can all be regenerated if the ennemy decides to spark or tag out, making you waste ressources and time.

Finally, you should try to play offensively as often as you can, as the time limit can wear thin in the later fights, but also, playing defensively can prove to be self-defeating; even if you're regenerating health, the AI only needs to open you up with a single attack to follow it up with supers and deal a million damage, which can easily happen.
Staying mobile might at least make it fumble or be unable to follow things up properly as it normally would.
Final words

On that note, I hope this was helpful, and in a perfect world, maybe this guide will lead to everyone having a more enjoyable experience when doing Party Battles in the future.

I would like to thank YOU personnaly for taking the time to go through all this.

This is my first time writing a guide, and I realize this might be way too long for such a simple topic, but I wanted to be thorough and adress any potential problem people might encounter in this mode. I think it can be really fun and enjoyable when everyone is working together and giving it their best.

I wish you all a great time, and to have fun with this game and with your friends. Peace!
