Princess Quests Guide (And bug fixes/workarounds)
Bởi snoot
A guide to all the Gem/Record/UFO/Recipe/UMA/Song/Wonderspot locations! As well as additional things to know to make sure this really buggy port will work as best as it can!

Feel free to tell me to add things as I'm literally just collecting bits and information from ALL over just to compile it in once place! I'd like to expand to more than just the Princesses but we'll start here!

Bugs/Workarounds
So you may be thinking, gosh, this port is super buggy, crashes a lot, has odd bugs where I can't continue quests, and sometimes won't even let me go up an elevator! Well! Yup. This port super stinks but I personally really love this game so I was able to overlook/find ways to circumvent (for the most part) most of these bugs. Let's walk through some known problems and how I've gotten through them.
Side note: Keyboard is very hard to use in this game, so any Keyboard specific bugs are not included. This is a controller only household (specifically xbox).

Black screen on loading a Save File
Sometimes after the game unexpectedly crashes or you save and quit and come back the next day, upon loading your save it just stares back at you infinitely and let's you contemplate your decisions. REALLY annoying, but fixable.

  • The first thing you can do is brute force. Sometimes it just works after exiting and retrying a few times.
  • If that doesn't work, you can make a brand new save, save and quit, and then try reloading your original save file. A little more annoying but typically works. (You can also delete the new save immediately after making it!)
  • If all else fails, try lowering/turning off some of your settings in the start up launcher. I found after I turned off the Postprocessing Effects that I didn't really encounter the problem again.
Speaking of Postprocessing... That brings me to my next problem!

Insanely intense Bloom
Have you noticed that when you recruit people on your team, your screen is INSTANTLY hit with an abnormal amount of Bloom effects? I know that can be rather headache inducing so what you can do is:

Turn off Postprocessing! I cannot express how much this will help with the Bloom.

Missing cutscenes?
You know how you get to the boss fights and you're SO excited to see them do their little intros and all that only to be greeted with Onii IMMEDIATELY attacking you? Yeah.. Here's how I fixed that.

Make sure you aren't skipping Intro movies and Startup Logos in the start up launcher.

Really odd that they would make this skip every cutscene and I wasn't even sure if this was my problem but once I turned those back on I was getting every cutscene again.

60fps... THE BUG.
This one is a very important one and solves a lot of problems! Make sure you read this if you can't find your specific problem in any of the other headers.
If you didn't enable 60fps, you probably don't need to read this!

Another result of them not doing a very good job with this port, 60fps causes... a LOT of problems.
Here's some of the things I've noted made my life way easier by switching back to 30fps! To toggle in between 60 and 30 fps, use the F1 button!

  • King Shishkebaboo Fight. This fight was SO insanely fast paced when I was playing in 60fps, toggling to 30fps made everything way easier to handle. This goes for most boss fights, such as:
  • Long Sauvage Fight. Yup Helped this one too. Who would've thought? As a rule of thumb, I usually turned my fps back to 30 during any boss fight.
  • Table Tennis. Those balls go fast as HECK unless you're in 30fps. Maybe it was like this in the original one but I really can't remember so I turned that ish DOWN.
  • Not receiving final quests from The Princesses. This one is pretty important and I still don't exactly know if 60fps was the problem, but what I did to fix it was set it back to 30fps, went to sleep, and then the mail was there to finish their quest.
  • Stuck on Elevator :( Pls help. Yeahhhh. 30fps... Toggle to 30fps...

Side note: While it may seem like you move faster, the clock also speeds up, so if you're doing anything time sensitive, switching to 30fps for a bit may be helpful.

Long Sauvage Fight Hiding Spots
While this fight is, for the most part, quite easy, that one section with the swinging beards that insta kill your Royal Guard is annoying, and sometimes won't let you hide your people at all.

To circumvent this, use the W and S keys on the keyboard to hide instead of your controller. Even this can be a little buggy and iffy sometimes, but that's unfortunately just the way of the port. Just be patient and you can make it through the fight!

Game Crashes
Unfortunately, I haven't found much to consistently keep this from happening, however I have read a few things that other people have claimed have helped them.
  • Updating your drivers. If you're like me you just groaned on hearing that. Yeah I hate when people say "UpDaTe YoUr DrIvErS everything will work!" Like yeah yeah yeah it does actually fix some things whatever.
  • Reducing in-game Graphics. Especially if your PC doesn't have a high performance!

For the most part, I just made sure to save as often as I could, especially before entering the Princess Tower or after I've done team management.

That's it!
If you know of any other bugs and their workarounds that you've personally used, let me know and I can add them to the list!
The Princesses
Now that we're finished with the bugs, let's get onto the main event: The Princesses™
Why don't you listen to some enjoyable music from Little King's Story while you read? :)

Little King's Story has 7 Princesses to be rescued from Rival Kings. They each give you one quest, all of which should be completable after the final king fight with Jumbo Champloon.
Side note: Once you collect the final Flying Machine part and make your way to Skinny Ray's, Howser will ask if you're ready to fly, initiating the end game sequence and making it impossible to finish the rest of the Princesses quests. So make sure to avoid that!
The rest of the information in "The Princesses" section is mostly just about The Princesses and nothing to do with their quests so you can skip it if you really want to!

Now that we've got all of their introductions out of the way, let's get onto the real reason you're here: Their quests, item locations, and how to complete them!

Apricot's Quest: Wonder Spots
Princess Apricot's quest for Corobo is to find all the Wonder Spots since she can't travel. These are all fairly easy to find but it's sometimes easy to overlook them. I'll go through all the Wonder Spot locations as well as provide maps/screenshots on where to find them!

All Spots
I've made a map of all the spots and where to find them on the Overworld map, I'll go through each of them individually below.

#1 Former Onii Grounds

This Wonder Spot can be found as soon as you enter the Onii Grounds, it's North East of the stairs, towards the water.
Entry: Onii Man! With him gone, the flowers can bloom!

#2 Sunflower Plains

You can find this one by exiting the West gate where you fight the Onii King. It's immediately at the entrance of Sunflower Plains
Entry: I see the sunflowers and think of you!

#3 Firefly Lake

Right before you cross the river to enter the Melon Patch, (The area with the Scarecrow and watermelons) if you instead follow the river North, you'll find it tucked in beside some sunflowers.
Entry: In the middle of the night stars fall towards the quiet lakeside.

#4 Melon Patch

On that note, this Wonder Spot is AFTER you cross the bridge from Sunflower Plains into the Melon Patch. If you hug the river on this side and follow it North, you should run into the Wonder Spot just at the end of the Melon Patch.
Entry: A patch famous for producing monster watermelons!

#5 Forest Cafeteria

This Wonder Spot is directly left to the entrance of the Ripe Kingdom (King Shishkebaboo's zone)
Entry: Teatime! Now treat me to a cup of tea!

#6 Nature Maze

This one is located just outside the Worrywart Kingdom (The area before King Omelet). It's placed right in front of the Hedge Maze before you get to King Omelet.
Entry: Wandering around and getting lost!

#7 Screw-Loose Isles

This one can be easy to rush past sense it's in an area with annoying enemies. It's located in the TV maze in the Primetime Kingdom, about two TVs in.
Entry: Glittery network TV is like the stars!

#8 Matryoshka Rock

This one is located outside the Boney Tunnel to the West, right before you go through a bone fence.
Entry: Inside the rock, is another rock!

#9 Bird's Nests!

This one is located outside the Boney Tunnel as well, but you go East instead. You'll find a lot of chickens here so bring a Cook and it'll make life a lot easier.
Entry: Outstretched! It hurts to live! (relatable)

#10 Haunted Zone 1

This one is a little difficult to explain. Once you enter Dark valley (The area with Onii King, you'll know when you enter it once the music changes.) and see the sign that the Onii King put up to greet Corobo, head left. There should be a giant rock there so bring a Miner. Once you get past that rock, head straight along and there should be two black sheep as well as stairs you can build going up and a ramp going down. Go past both of those and head towards the water, then hug the water and head North. Eventually you should come across a little hidden cubby with this Wonder Spot.
Entry: Ghosts always show up in photos!
Apricot's Quest: Wonder Spots (Cont.)
#11 Haunted Zone 2

This one you can get after getting a Broadcaster by beating TV Dinnah. Once you have one, go back to the Skeleton Dragon in the cage. Proceed past it like usual and you should come across the path to the Worrywart Kingdom, and a path that leads to a small TV. Use the broadcaster on the TV and the Wonder Spot should be just past it.
Entry: Even the dead grumble when they get hungry!

#12 King's Natural Reserve

After you beat Duvroc, go back to his boss area and there should be a Wonder Spot set up right beside him.
Entry: Party hardy! But it's sad when it ends...

#13 Wide Pin Pinball

After you beat Shishkebaboo, you can go back to his boss area. The Wonder Spot should be directly left of the entrance of the pinball zone.
Entry: You're really cute when you have whipped cream on your cheek.

#14 Eggan Ruins

Once you beat Omelet, go back through the maze and to his boss arena. The Wonder Spot should be right beside his egg.
Entry: Worrywart! The raw egg that just can't stop!

#15 Broadcast Tower

After beating TV Dinnah, going back to his boss arena and looking to the right of his TV will reveal this Wonder Spot.
Entry: I'll pierce your heart... with an antenna!

#16 Hidden Hot Spring

Just outside of Sobamanjaro, by the cow cannon, if you go directly North instead of entering Mount Sobamanjaro, you should eventually come across a crack in the ground for a farmer to unveil a spring. Right beside that crack you'll also find the Wonder Spot.
Entry: This outdoor spring is a mixed bath! Perverts galore! (yucky)

#17 Sobamanjaro

After beating Long Sauvage, make your way to the top of his mountain again (it's far easier this time) and the sign will be there. You can also bring a Mountie to get extra loot from smoking holes on the mountain!
Entry: From the top of the mountain I want to shout "I love you!"

#18 New Island Park

After beating Jumbo Champloon, going back to his boss arena you can find this Wonder Spot. If you bring a Craftian with you, there are new areas you can also access here!
Entry: At the end of the world Still being built! Still buried in trash!

#19 Over-there-Beach

Once you beat Jumbo Champloon and get a Craftian citizen, head to the beach by your kingdom. There should be building blocks by an umbrella which you can assemble to create a gate way. The Wonder Spot should be further along, past some crabs.
Entry: It's so bright. The sun is smiling on you!

#20 Valley of Memories!

This is the final Wonder Spot. Once you get 19 out of the 20, you should receive Mail from Apricot via Suggestion Box. Once you've received it, go to the Onii King's Arena and there should be the final Wonder Spot next to a ramp. This will conclude the quest as well as give you a cute cutscene of you and Apricot!

Entry: Lick that candy! Together at last!
Side note: If you're having trouble receiving the final letter, make sure your game is running at 30fps and then sleep once or twice, then check your mailbox again. It should hopefully be there by then. You can also try restarting your game.
Bouquet's Quest: Discover UMA
Princess Bouquet's quest for Corobo is to find every single monster to fill out her encyclopedia. These can be a little annoying unless you're like me and take pretty much every single side-quest you can do. I'll go through all the locations of the enemies with you!

Onii you probably aren't having any problems with encountering. They're encountered early on as soon as you beat your first boss (Cow Bones) and build a bridge across the river. There are also Pot throwing and drunk versions you can encounter.

The only time it spawns outside of generated quests is outside the Boney Tunnel entrance.

While this UMA is #21 in the book, it's actually the LAST UMA you will encounter, as it's the one you have to find for Bouquet's final quest. Once you've unlocked Bouquet's final quest, enter the Boney Tunnel with a Miner. Pay close attention to the background wall, as there will be a crack in it. Open that wall with a Miner and you'll find a cave filled with Escargoo and one Gold Escargoo at the end. This isn't a particularly hard fight, all you need to worry about is killing it and getting the entry. This will complete Bouquet's quest, initiating a cute cutscene of the two of you together.

Side note: This Onii WILL NOT SPAWN until you have all 52 other UMA registered in your book. It only spawns once you get Princess Bouquet's final letter after finding 52 of them.

Kokomo Pine's Quest: Songbook
Kokomo Pine's quest is to collect the songs of people located all throughout your kingdom. During the night you can walk around the kingdom and talk to citizens you find humming and they'll give you a song! There's a total of 30 songs you have to collect! SPECIAL thanks to this thread[gamefaqs.gamespot.com] that mapped out all the locations so I didn't have to find them all again, love that sm.
Side note: You can only collect songs between 10pm and midnight. I'd recommend playing this section in 30fps to maximize time as you'll most likely have to go through the kingdom 2 or 3 times in 30fps and possibly more in 60+fps
SECOND Side note: The two hardest to find songs are sung by people on Over-There Beach and Corobo's Forest. The one in Corobo's Forest is right beside the rock the crown was found in!

#1 Brace Yourself!
Location: On the road in front of the Suggestion box. (Castle Town.)
Entry: A relaxing tune. It can help you forget about your numerous failings and make you think there's hope after all. Hope without surgery, that is.

#2 Camellia Hag's Song

#16 Green Jelly
Location: In the inside corner of the L-shaped (clothing) house, which is next to Solder Town's cannon.
Entry: A song about moms who serve flavored gelatin for dessert. Really ends with an "o", but the company won't get the joke.

#17 Twinkle Twinkle Star
Location: Inbetween two trees east of the western Stonecutting Plant in Stone City.
Entry: A tune about UFOs. I caught this brain wave at night with lots of people while looking at the sky. I seem to have lost an hour somewhere, though...

#18 Pastorale
Location: West of large stairs, which are south of round houses in Solder Town.
Entry: A song of the dusk. The owner of the Café Beethoven gets sentimental whenever he hears this tune.

#19 Wish

Kokomo Pine's Quest: Songbook (Cont.)

#21 You're Cala-mine
Location: In the passage south of the mansion west of the hospital, south of the theater. (Glamour Town.)
Entry: A song of anti-itch. I'm itching early in the morning and have an earnest wish for it to stop. It's that kind of tune.

#22 Cut and Run
Location: By the tree behind the Hospital in Glamour Town.
Entry: This is a cursed song. The vengeful song of a bride that got left at the altar. Men, you should watch your back.

#23 Insomniac Lullaby
Location: Between the Eggan Civilisation Ruins' gate and the Stonecutting Plant in Miner's Town.
Entry: A lullaby. But it's also a stimulating song because the one singing it ends up not being able to sleep.

#24 Address Unknown
Location: In front of mine shaft, by the N.E Round House in Miner's Town.
Entry: A song for the lowly mailman. When he can't make out the address, he'll sing this song out of desperation. Seems to just attract dogs though.

#25 Jovial Ganymede
Location: In the alley north of the Royal School, in Royal City.
Entry: Song of empty lives. People of Jupiter sing this when they pretend to be happy. They're masters at faking happiness!

Entry: Song of separation. This song is used to bid farewell to the souls of the lost.

After you've collected 29 out of the 30 songs, you should get a letter via Suggestion Box from Kokomo Pine. Meet Kokomo Pine at around 6pm outside Alpoko Castle and she'll give you the final song. You'll then get a cute cutscene with Kokomo Pine as the quest concludes!

Entry: A forgotten song. Songs are my friends. That's why I want everyone to listen to my songs. Now let's all sing!
Side note: If you're having trouble receiving the final letter, make sure your game is running at 30fps and then sleep once or twice, then check your mailbox again. It should hopefully be there by then. You can also try restarting your game.
Martel's Quest: Records
Princess Martel is probably the last princess quest you'll finish naturally (unless she's your favorite for some god forbidden reason). She wants you to break a bunch of records and report back to her on it. I'll walk through all 9 records and tell you how to get them!

To get these, you'll have to beat the Kings in the Worrywart, Primetime, Tiptoe, and New Island Kingdoms respectively. After some time they should show up in your kingdom.
Secret Jobs: Steel Knight, Rainbow Wizard, Brainy Doctor.

Steel Knight: To get the Steel Knight, you'll need to go to your Kingdom Plans and purchase ALL armor and weapon upgrades for your citizens. These plans are added whenever you speak to a traveling merchant Howser alerts you to. Eventually one of the traveling merchants will offer you rare armor. Once you buy it, you can check the castle between 10pm and midnight and you should find a suit of armor that was previously stationed near your bedroom (beside your throne) walking towards the town center where you can then recruit it to the royal guard.

Rainbow Wizard: To get the wizard, you must first have enacted the Kingdom Plan to build Magical Land. After some time, a carefree adult should visit you saying there's a wizard roaming Magical Land at midnight Go to Magical Land at midnight and you should find the wizard there ready to be recruited!
(There's another event similar talking about rumors of a wizard, but doesn't mention them being seen or when they appear. Make sure it isn't this event you're getting as this doesn't actually activate the wizard appearing).

Brainy Doctor: To get the doctor you'll have to finish donating to the Royal School. After some time, you should be informed there's a doctor wandering Glamour Town! You'll have to go to Glamour Town at around 3pm to catch the doctor on his lunch break so you can recruit him.

Entry: You have found 20/20 jobs! Hooray! Mission Complete!

Final Record!
Once you've gotten 8 out of 9 records you should get a letter via Suggestion Box from Princess Martel. Talk to Martel until the RNG lets you kiss her. Do this 20 times. (Hell on earth.) You'll then get a disgusting cutscene of you and Martel.

Entry: You smooched me 20 times! Martel really loves you, Kingie-poo!
Side note: If you're having trouble receiving the final letter, make sure your game is running at 30fps and then sleep once or twice, then check your mailbox again. It should hopefully be there by then. You can also try restarting your game.
Verde's Quest: Salary
Now the GOAT herself has a quest and it's really really simple. She just wants to be compensated for a job well done after watching over you and keeping track of your progress since the beginning of the game. After beating your third king you should be receiving quests from her (and Liam, but he's not important right now) about her salary. Let's go through all the Salary Statements.
Side note: If you finish Liam's quest as well, he provides assistance during the final mission.

Salary Statement 1
Find Verde and pay her 200,000 Bol.

Salary Statement 2
Find Verde and pay her 500,000 Bol.

Salary Statement 3
Find Verde and pay her 500,000 Bol.

Salary Statement 4
Find Verde and pay her 9,990,000 Bol

Salary Statement 5
Verde wants more money but this time she lets you choose how much to pay her.
I believe you can choose either option of pay as long as it isn't the lowest and she'll still be romance-able by the end of the game, but just in case I wouldn't risk it. Verde is worth it tbh just pay her the 9,000,000 Bol and move on with your life.

If you finish this quest line, you should be able to bring Verde with you to the final mission in the game! Best girl best option hands down 10/10 would spend Bol on her again.

Thank you!
Thanks for reading through my guide, it was really fun to make. This game is very nostalgic to me and while the game definitely didn't age well and the steam port is really... REALLY bad, it was still a blast playing through it again and I hope this guide can help some people. Thanks again!
