Backstory
This is Christan. Christan's parents are morons.

Christan is weary. Weary of everyone else's expectations. She is always given the worst chores and what's more - the clan isn't even run well! Christan could do a far better job herself, if everyone else just got out of her way!

So that's exactly what she is going to do. Christan has left her childhood home and is striking out on her own. Any supplies she took with her have now run out. But she's found the perfect spot to build on. This will be the best clan ever. She'll show them.
Challenge Rules
First - we set up.

No supplies, no animals, no friends, no help. Christan doesn't need any of that stuff - she can build up everything she needs on her own.

Your character is up to you, but choose wisely - it's all down to them.

Christan is strong, but she's not stupid. Back in her more impressionable days, her parents emphasised stranger danger and the message stuck. Weird adults coming to stay on her land - bad idea. No travellers until your character is an adult AND you have a separate building for them to use, including washing facilities and somewhere to serve food. Eventually, Christan could be open to running a small place to stay but when that day comes, she's going to do it properly.

Similarly, Christan is sceptical of paid workers. They all told her that she couldn't do it on her own, but they were wrong. Now, she has something to prove. She will build her foundations from the ground up with her bare hands. No paid labourers, with one exception...

Christan does however want to be the matriarch of a great dynasty. She needs to find a husband. Once she's an adult of course - having creepy men linger around her waiting for her to age up is most definitely NOT part of the plan. After your character has aged up, you may hire ONE person with the intention of marrying them. If someone better comes along in the meantime, you are welcome to throw over your original choice (as long as only one worker is hired at any one time). However, as soon as a worker is willing to marry into the family, you must do so immediately. These rules also hold for finding partners for future generations.
Notes
How it started: I died my first winter from exposure. I haven't died for a while. I enjoyed it.

How it's going: Second attempt is going well; Christan now has a weary teenager of her own!

Comments very welcome. I was looking for a way to up the difficulty, and this worked well, as well as having a fun story. Not being able to hire labourers really slows things down, but it forces you to prioritise much more. It's very easy to overextend yourself. Let me know how you get on if you try it!

I love this idea. I have done several worlds on the orphan difficulty and once on the hermit so i am used to micro managing my people. i decided to add more difficulty by making my runaway teen a vegan. she (Sophie) is a full grown adult with a crazy amount of food. however she hasn't found a husband yet.

I'm loving it so far - Magat has found a husband (Roderick) and have had their first child (Agnes). No one besides Roderick has ever visited the area. Just to be clear, if I have a separate serving table, toilet, wash basin etc. I can have visitors and traders arrive?

This engaging backstory and the limitations have intrigued me. I'm starting this one.

great idea. im going to try this now.

The closest thing I did to this was two adults and three babies. turns out that one mom can only keep two babies alive at one time. And the stress of having SO MUCH child time meant that nobody was progressing and I starved my first winter
