How to rotate objects

Step 1

Spawn in an object and pick it up with your physics gun

Step 2

Hold E and move your mouse to rotate it
If you want to lock the rotations into a grid, hold E and then hold Shift at the same time.

I had some trouble figuring this out but a quick youtube tutorial did the trick. I published this guide so hopefully new players could see it and find out how to rotate objects as soon as they open their shift+tab menu on garry's mod.
