What to do if Jokke comes to kill you, but you didn't steal his suitcase?

You wake up in the morning, there's a cool breeze, birds are singing so beautifully and your best friend is trying to kill you with an axe. What now?

Reasons

So when I'm writing this, that issue was reported on the Steam forum 3 times in the January 2023 alone. That makes like 50% of all the reports of that issue that were reported since the beginning. This huge increase in frequency is the reason why did I create this guide.

How this work?

A variable called "drunkstage" counts how many times we drove Jokke home. When it reaches 5 the suitcase is spawned. Its position is kept in "suitcasepos2". It spawns on one of the preset spawn points, named like "Spawn1", "Spawn2" etc. Its name is kept in a variable called "suitcasespawn". When its position is different than its spawn point a variable called "drunkangry" changes to true, that makes Jokke come to kilju kill you. After you punch him a variable called "drunkendishere" changes to true, that makes him commit suicide. All these variables are located in defaultES2file.

What can go wrong?

Variables "drunkangry" and/or "suitcasespawn" could change their values by themselves to cause this issue, but none such situation is known. All known cases happened because of suitcase getting teleported in a strange place. In this case, you can't either help Jokke or get his money. That makes the worst possible ending to the Jokke arc.

What can cause this?

Suitcase teleporting to landfill may be caused by some physics bug that causes the suitcase to fall through the ground and respawn there. It could also be launched into air for no reason like other items in the game sometimes do. It may also be caused by some unknown bug that happened in one of the December updates.

There are no known cases that happened on 100% vanilla. That means that this may be caused by a mod. Suspected mods are:
- MOP
- CallYourCousin.
I don't really know how and why would CallYourCousin cause this mess, but it'll remain on the sus list until we know more. CallYourCousin is no longer sus. The other suspect is the mod called MOP (that stands for Messer Of the Physics), that messes many things. It is very likely that this issue is just another thing that the MOP messes up.

Solution

To fix this, you'll need a tool called "MSC Editor". You probably have it by now, but if you don't go get it, it is essential for fixing this issue. Your suitcase is probably sitting in the jail, behind a tree wall, in the middle of the lake or in Teimo's ass, so you need to teleport it back to its place. You can check its location using World Map tool if you want. Now open the defaultES2file in MSC Editor, and change the following variables:
- "drunkendishere" to false
- "drunkangry" to false
- "suitcasespawn" to Spawn4
- "suitcasepos2" to:

location

Now you're able to find it or not find it as you should be able to.

Another solution

In case you want to cheat a little, you can teleport the suitcase to yourself to take the money and face the consequences. For this you can use the "Teleport Object" tool in MSC Editor. If you want the game to look properly and don't want the Jokke to come to you again, change the variables:
- "drunkendishere" to true
- "drunkangry" to false

In case you are a VITTU and you really want to punch your best friend in his face while he lost everything in his life, change both to false.

Note

If after reading this guide you think that you can steal the money AND prevent bad things from happening if you take the money without moving the suitcase, then I have bad news: angry Jokke will appear behind you while you take the money. Looks like you need to live with the consequences.

I did not move the suitcas and i only took money and as i was doing that he came from the back with the axe, IN THE FOREST!

How do you want to delete it? And it's not random, it spawns on one of preset spawn points. That certain position in the solution is the position of Spawn4, you also change the suticasespawn to Spawn4 so the game thinks this is the original position.

if you delete the suitcasepos2, it will just reset to the default location, and as it's random, putting a certain position will not always work
