RMMV Oceanic

Here is the RMMV Oceanic, a cancelled liner intended for the White Star Line.

She would've been the 3rd ship in the White Star Line to bear the name Oceanic. She was designed in response to the much larger ships being built in other countries and their rivals, Cunard Line (which were at the time constructing the RMS Queen Mary). White Star Line also wanted a ship to replace the RMS Homeric due to her being smaller, slower, and less profitable compared to RMS Majestic and RMS Olympic. In 1926, the first design for Oceanic was proposed, and it looked very similar to the Olympic-Class but with a few modifications to the stern section. White Star Line also ordered a smaller liner to serve as a running mate for the Oceanic, the MV Britannic (which shared some design features from Oceanic). After the final design was proposed, construction finally began in 1928, but her construction was moving at a slow pace. In 1929, an economic crisis (the Great Depression) all work on constructing the ship ceased, and saw the entire ship cancelled after the Royal Mail Case in 1931. White Star Line was hit badly by the depression, and instead focused it's resources (and the scraps from Oceanic's incomplete hull) to complete the MV Britannic, and proposed a much smaller running mate for the ship to replace Oceanic, the MV Georgic (which in inherited even more of Oceanic's design features). Had the Oceanic been built, she would've been the first ship to surpass 1,000 ft in length, and would've been the largest ship the White Star Line ever operated, and possibly one of the largest ocean liners ever built.

There is also a bodygroup for a "Colossic" nameplate.
Colossic, according to this post [www.encyclopedia-titanica.org], was intended to be the sister ship to Oceanic, but with different propulsion. Oceanic would have been fitted with diesel-electric engines (thus her acronym RMMV), while Colossic would retain the traditional steam-turbine engines (having the acronym RMS).
Very little information exists on this design, and there is nothing other than this source that talks about this ship. So for now, I would consider it fictional since there is nothing else confirming it's existence.
