Xbox Controller Guide

Want to use a controller for this fantastic game? But you're having problems with getting yours to work? Use this workaround.

Note: This is a guide for the Xbox One Controller, but for other controllers, you will just have to create your own config which is fairly easy. Untested using an Xbox 360 controller but it should work.

Thought I'd post this here in case someone wants to use their controller. Using a PlayStation controller should be very similar (except you'd have to make the config yourself, don't really recommend using PS controllers despite there being a lot of support on PC nowadays for some games they don't work well).

Here is the config I created: [url]My Xbox One Controller Config[/url]

Step 1) Download my config

Step 2) Navigate to Steam (Top Left) -> Settings -> Controller ->General Controller Settings -> Tick "Xbox Configuration Support" (Then close that menu)

Step 3) Navigate to Steam (Top Left) -> Settings -> Controller ->General Controller Settings -> Guide Button Chord Configuration -> Browse Configs -> Find and Select my Config (Grey Heritage: Faded Vision v3)

Note: You may have to also do the same for the Desktop Configuration

Important: Now in-game it should default automatically to this config, however steam can be stubborn and choose its stupid keyboard and mouse config which you do not want

To fix this: Open game -> Shift + Tab (Open Steam Overlay) -> Controller Configuration (Top Right) -> Select Downloaded Layout

As of now v3 of my config is up and the buttons are as follows:
D-pad = Arrow keys
Left stick = Cursor (You can navigate/move units using either this or D-pad)
A = Z on keyboard
B = X on keyboard
X = C on keyboard
Y = LCTRL on keybpard
LB = A on keyboard
RB = S on keyboard
RT = Take Screenshot
Start = Alt + Tab
Share/Select = Show Keyboard
(You won't really be using Start and Select at all)
