Just a simple guide I put together to help summarize all the new additions and changes that were made in the latest major update for Terraria, 1.4.4. Introduction
This guide will feature the various new additions and changes made to Terraria in the 1.4.4 update.

This guide is intended for both new Terraria players, or players coming back from a long break/hiatus from the game. Like myself, a lot of new things have been added into Terraria this time around and hopefully this guide will be helpful to you! :) Remember to use CTRL + F to find specific things and/or topics you are looking for!
Most Notable Changes
Some of the more important/effective changes that have been made to Terraria in the 1.4.4 update include:
  • Loadouts for armor and accessories are now available. Players can use up to 3 different loadouts that can be swapped immediately. These loadout keys are bound to F1 F2 and F3 by default but can be changed within the game settings.
  • Many items now have a max stack of 9999 instead of the previous 999.
  • Numerical values added to both the players' health as well as boss health.
  • Player invincibility after death has been increased to 3 seconds instead of 1.
  • All weapons can be autofired through an accessibility option in game
ALL of the changes and additions to the Terraria 1.4.4 update can be viewed here[terraria.fandom.com] (There are many more changes made)
Legendary Mode
If either "For the worthy" or "Get fixed boi" seeds are used while in Master Mode, the world will instead be in Legendary Mode. This new mode will only work with the 2 previously listed seeds.

Legendary Mode worlds are essentially Master Mode worlds with an increased difficulty. However, with added difficulties (enemy damage) compared to Master Mode, there are also some changes in world generation in Legendary Mode that include:
All enemies doing even more damage than their Master Mode counterparts
Majority of bosses have also been buffed from their Master Mode counterparts
Everything else that comes with Master Mode and the seed you selected
New boss exclusive to this difficulty, Mechdusa

Mechdusa is a new Hardmode boss exclusive to the Legendary Mode and is composed of all 3 of the mechanical bosses. The boss drops everything that the other mechanical bosses can drop, plus the new Waffl's Iron weapon. Mechdusa can spawn naturally (5%) at dusk once at least 1 Altar is destroyed so long as none of the mechanical bosses have been defeated.

Mechdusa can additionally be spawned with Ocram's Razor. This is crafted with 1 Mechanical Skull, 1 Mechanical Eye, and 1 Mechanical Worm at any Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil.

Shimmer
Shimmer is a new liquid added in the 1.4.4 update that allows for the transmutation of certain items and this liquid can be accessed after the Moon Lord has been defeated.
Shimmer liquid is found in the new Aether mini biome. The biome can alternatively be artificially created when over 300 blocks worth of Shimmer are placed by means of the Bottomless Shimmer Bucket.
The liquid Shimmer can be used to "transmute" items into different items as well as change the sprites of NPCs, enemies and critters. Item examples include turning Bezoar into an Adhesive Bandage. Or a Cactus into a Pumpkin.
The full item transmutation table can be found here[terraria.fandom.com]

The only way Shimmer can be moved or essentially placed somewhere else is through the usage of a Bottomless Shimmer Bucket. This can be obtained by either transmuting a Bottomless Water Bucket. Or by crafting one with 1 Bottomless Water Bucket and 10 Luminite Bars at an Ancient Manipulator. (Post Moonlord)

Some of the more useful new transmutation items added include:

Arcane Crystal: Consumable which permanently increases a player's mana regeneration. Acquired by transmuting a Mana Crystal.

Aegis Fruit: Consumable which permanently increases the player's defense by 4. Acquired by transmuting Life Fruit.

Vital Crystal: Consumable which permanently increases the player's health regeneration. Acquired by transmuting Life Crystal.

Advanced Combat Techniques: Volume Two: Consumable permanently increases town NPCs defense by 6 and attack damage by 20%. Acquired by transmuting a Spell Tome.

Worth noting Mechdusa is exclusive to the Zenith seed, not Legendary mode
Good guide though
