Gianna General Progression Guide

Can't progress through? Can't cure a status? Want better quality of life? This guide will help you traverse through the confusing parts of the game.

Foreword: This guide is mostly for Normal or Easy mode

Hard mode alters several things drastically, such as some Party Member's locations.

General Tips:

- If statuses are a problem, use Liliana's Morph skill and Mind Cleansers as both of them will negate nearly all statuses.
*Liliana's Morph for body transformation statuses found in her Use JP tree
*Mind Cleaners for mind statuses found in shops namely the blue fish tent vendor
*If they don't check Journal > Status Journal

- If random encounters are a problem there is an item to remove all RANDOM encounters, go to Alisha's house North of Cathedral of the Spirit, recruit Alisha and get the Tech Forge skill and craft all tech items the last being the Radar Ring.
*Path to Cathedral of the Spirit from Bordertown is to keep following the grey road heading West of Bordertown
*Path to Alisha's House from Cathedral of the Spirit is to go around the left side of the Cathedral and keep going up (from portal 1 room down, 1 room left, 1 room up, 1 room left, 8 rooms up)

- If finding the places with tomes or gems is a problem, there is a another fast travel system. Go to the Phantom Express, East of Chateau D'Yterre, as it will provide you with free travel to any of the gems and tomes places provided you finish the dungeon.

- Don't forget to use the Job Points (Use JP) system for powerful skills like Sinian's and Liliana's Morph. And remember, nearly every class (including status ones like cheerleader) has a JP system.

- If getting XP for JP skills is a problem, you can buy 50 JP for 1,000g in Woodrot forest West of Bordertown alternatively, if you really want to max your characters levels, gather all 10 party members and fast travel somewhere. Gathering all members will enable you to fight Lady Lyra the tenant of the mansion in Gianna Plaza beating her will give 300-500XP depending on your level each time you beat her levelling up ridiculously fast (1 level for 1-2 fights). Plus whether you win or lose you will always come out the battle fully restored no need for a rest point.

- If you're having problems fighting, there is a white haired girl in Bordertown you can recruit for a minimum of 2,000 gold (highly recommended, look at her Use JP tree and see what I mean) and the Sea Market West of Bordertown for a relatively easy boss fight party member.

- If you're having problems with high cost CP moves for combat classes, raise that user's passion stat, as it will determine how much CP she will start with each battle. Ways to increase Passion: Denial Belts sold in West Beach Outpost (+50% increase, status), Perfume sold by Shandra at the Rokkas bar provided you spare her (+25, accessory), Whip can be bought from Tabnath(+8, weapon)

- For a good head start regarding future progression, I suggest going to Forsaken Tower (for Soulgem access) and Cathedral of the Spirit (to remove Soulgem Status)* as soon as you can.
*to remove Soulgem Status and other statuses that can't be removed by Morph/Friends turning into items, a Holy Site may remove it (White table with a book and candles) one is at the Cathedral of the Spirit

*Path to Forsaken Tower from Bordertown Portal: 1 room left, 1 room down, 3 rooms left, 4 rooms up

- If a party member gets lost from your party while you were fighting in Mt. Pleasant Farms or Woodrot Forest, you can go back to the exact place they got lost in and rescue them in a random encounter battle

- If your party member got lost in Tomb of Luxatep, inside the pyramid on the West room there is a big blue crystal wall with a pickaxe, interacting with it will return the party member.

- If a party member gets lost due to a glitch (or you don't know where to find them) there is a secret button to return all members in the Gianna Castle Orbs room across one of the orbs

- To cure Dice status, on the Phantom Express cabin/room with 3 subrooms go to the ones on the left, inside there will be a machine with a spirit beside it that can cure dice status.

- You don't need to fight Ripvannibala

- Bandit Key? Go outside Sea Market then go up. Look around the right till you find a building.

-Recipes? If I had someone to make it for me? The purpose of the recipes is for the Forest Cabin nearby Bordertown. To actually make the recipes you will need to have punished certain npcs for them to work at your forest cabin namely the arena orcs in Tabnath (maid punishment) or possibly either the soulsmith or the statues guarding the golem at Luxatep's Tomb.
*Though do note that there is no way to reverse punishment aside from save loading so test out the character's mercy route for its worth.

- If you want to complete the entire journal without the wiki, go at the Tabnath Mountains area and head East, there will be a cliff with trash piles and another area. To get on it go North of it then go in the area, open the chest for an item that will help you (check out the journal after).

Kepiat Gallery (Museum East of Sea Market):

First and foremost you will NEED to go to Forsaken Tower first and have access to Soulgems, either stealing from enemies or buying in the shop

Put a teammate in a soulgem by using it in your inventory and selecting a party member.

Find the Golem that has a "Diamond Shaped hole" and put the Soulgem inside.

Go to the rightmost room and knock down the big boulder rock display to get in the dungeon.

Do not forget once you are done with the level, you can remove SoulGem status by visiting a holy site (White table with a book and candles), one is located at Cathedral of the Spirit or Mt. pleasant in the Maestr's house.

Tomb of Luxatep:

First and foremost you will NEED to go to Forsaken Tower to have Soulgems, either by stealing from enemies or buying from the Soulgem shop
*Path to Forsaken Tower from Bordertown Portal: 1 room left, 1 room down, 3 rooms left, 4 rooms up

Secondly go to West Beach Outpost (South of Luxatep's Tomb) and talk to the blue haired girl in the room above the teleport room and bring her along to decipher the hieroglyphs. (Not doing so will not allow you to progress even if you know what to do)

Then put one teammate into a soulgem by interacting with it in your inventory and put them in the "Diamond Shaped hole" Golems on either the East and West rooms, once you put a golem on the pedestal do not forget to remove the soulgem as the puzzle only needs to golems to be there.

Do not forget once you are done with the level, you can remove SoulGem status by visiting a holy site (White table with a book and candles), one is located at Cathedral of the Spirit or Mt. pleasant in the Maestr's house.

Puppetmaster's Lair (golden statue in Tabnath Mountains area):

You will need "Puppet Strings" to turn one of your members into a puppet then interact with the golden statue for it to open. You can get some from either stealing or looting puppet using enemies commonly around the Rokkas plains OR Forsaken Tower*, in the room with 5 ritual circles, put a book on the bottom right. You can then cure it either by using morph or string cutters bought from blue fish tent vendor.

Mt Pleasant:

Once you eliminate the Forestkin, the key is NOT for the Maestr's room/cabinets yet.

You actually have to go SouthEast towards a crop field, keep going East till you find a greenhouse then get another key from the chest there.

Then go back to the Maestr's house and use it on the desk drawer then down to the drawer on the bookshelf then go in the basement

After discovering the secret go all the way to the east of the town and east again past the cowshop for the main dungeon.

Chateau d'Yterre:

To gain access inside you will need to have recruited Jyla from the Sea Market first then talk to the maid after doing so.

On how to complete the dungeon (SPOILERS)


There are two methods on completing the dungeon, the boss fight method and the non-boss fight method.

Boss fight method:

Go upstairs towards the first room East, you will encounter a room with two maids and a red crystal, you will need to break said crystal but you will need to drive off the two maids guarding it.

To actually drive them out you will need to have gone to the West most room on the upstairs and go inside Guest Bedroom 1 and read the note on the cabinet. This will enable the option to drive out the maid on the right. For the left maid you will need to have visited the gallery in order to get the option to drive her out.

After driving them out you have to option of either smashing it outright or chipping two pieces away to break it, either option will result in the same outcome of you having to fight the head maid and Y'terre.



Non-Boss fight method

Y'terre herself will patrol around the house with a set schedule.

If you go upstairs on go to the two East most rooms and go to the bottom there will be a mirror that has a crystal indentation. To get this crystal go to East most two rooms and go on the room on top then once inside go up into the garden, there will be a maid who is looking for a chest key and the key will be in one of the planter boxes glowing.

After obtaining the key go back to the crystal room (the room right of the staircase) and go up to the bedroom. Open the chest and you will find the crystal shard, go back to the mirror room and insert the crystal.
*Alternatively, you can drive out the two maids guarding as seen on the boss fight method and chip off one piece of the crystal and you will get a crystal from there

Now you will need to wait for Y'terre to patrol inside the mirror room, preferably wait outside or find and follow her. Once she goes inside the mirror room interact with her and the dungeon will be complete.

Alisha's House:

This is only going to be to go towards the boss fight. Paragraph spaces dictate the end of one room. If you want the solutions to the other rooms for the chests you can check out the wiki.

From the portal go to the East Room and there will be a metal door w/ a password. Enter any you'll get through eitherway.

Once you get to the basement go to the West Room

Go left towards the arrow, travel, then go to the North room

Press blue button then go to arrow
Travel, then go up to the north room

Press blue and red button then go to the arrow
Travel, then get to the lever and shut down all arrows then go to East Room

Refresh if you want then go North Room

**BE CAREFUL ON THESE NEXT ROOMS**

Go to the first arrow heading left
Then go to the arrow on your left, travel then press the red button
Then go to the arrow up going right
DO NOT press the blue button instead go down arrow
then to the right arrow to the North room

Two ways to go about this room, the easy way (>5 party members) and the hard way (<5 members)

HARD

Travel, press blue then go the the arrow on your right
Replenish if you want then go to left arrow
You will be trapped with the yellow button being the only choice, press it
Then go to either arrow then get teleported back to spawn
Now press green button then with the arrow down going down go to previous room

Press blue button then go to the arrow on your upper left going down
Then press blue again then go to the arrow on your left going down into the trap to get teleported back to spawn
Then go up to the arrow going up
Travel, then go right arrow then press the lever to disable all

Now both rooms have all arrows disabled then you can go up

Sea Market:

This is for after you obtain Jyla, and realizing she doesn't have a tome.

To get the actual tome you will need a "Council Invitation". Ways to obtain these are:

*Easiest way: go back to Gianna Castle and talk to the Prime Minister and she may give you one (forgot the requirements but I assume it needs Jyla to be in party)
*Rokkas Bar if you've beaten the boss there is a chest containing one
*Kepiat Gallery a chest in one of the rooms

Then go back to the manor and talk to Vorosses.

City of Mist:

Giving masked nobles what they want will give a fragment.

4 buildings? Try the backdoor.

Girl between crossroads? Keep going up / down

Want to see the show? Make the room symmetrical.

Got an error? You didn't :)

Once you get 5 mask fragments, go back to the portal then go South and go back down the stairs back to the masked noble that greeted you with a mask. Then interact with the blue glass mirror thing on her right.

Be careful in proceeding further as if you fight the boss depending on which you choose, you may not be able to go back so sweep the place if you'd like.

New Rokkas:

If you just want to get in the bar but don't have 5,000 gold there is an alternative way to get in for free either by having enough magic hairdye for all members and using it all, or by going to the Forsaken Tower and using activating the bottom left of the five ritual circles via a book. This will transform one of your party members and if all members have the transformation you may get in for free.
*This is assuming you did not play Easy Mode, otherwise just buy Magic Hairdye from the Rokkas vendor for all members and use it.

To complete the dungeon/s (SPOILERS)

There are two ways to complete both West and East dungeons, the achievement non-boss method and the straightforward boss method.


The straightforward boss method:

For the Left dungeon (the stadium) once paying for entrance just go to the right and go through the locker room to get in the field and go to the middle top of the field and fight.

For the right dungeon (the bar) you will need to pay 5,000 gold to get in and go to the northernmost room and fight.


The achievement non-boss method:

For the left dungeon (the stadium) once paying for the entrance fee go to the left and talk to the saleswoman and get pompoms and transform all members into cheerleaders.
*Note that if you use a pompom and it doesn't transform them you may have an Iron Bat equipped that prevents cheerleader

Then you can go through the center entrance easily and go talk to the boss. Choose "We're cheerleaders" then "Someone is going to steal the crystal!"

For the right dungeon (the bar) you will need to pay 5k to get in. Then go up to the North room and tell Shandra Someone is going to steal the crystal. Getting in for free will not have this option as of 3.5.
*If you need a lot of gold quick you can farm Mandrake Roots from the Mt. Pleasant greenhouse and sell them.

After doing both in any order go to the middle interact with them, go out of the area, then go back in, there will now be a portal, go in and knock them both out and you will get the crystal.

Phantom Express:

Second row, last book.

While not necessary for progression, if you see a bald girl on your travels and want to save all of them make a save beforehand as they can get permanently locked out if you do something wrong and keep 2 gorgon braids , 1 lockpick, and 1 Orc Antibody in hand. All of which can be bought from the blue fish tent vendor.

checked it out, you can still get the items after not fighting as long as you mercy her. and for the lying option yeah if you got in by all bimbos you can't lie to her. sorry for the mislead, if you need more money you can farm mandrake roots from the mt pleasant greenhouse thru either stealing or drops and sell them

you lose the ability to get bimbo items if you dont fight? and might be the all bimbo thing.. but you have to pay to enter any other way.

Personally I feel it's better to fight and mercy her, so that you get access to infinite free bimbofications and a shop for bimbo gear. I mercy Kepiat for similar reasons.
