Before looking into the Achievements
There is 24 achievements. None of them are hidden, most are progressively easy and only one is missable.

You only have one save slot, this means you will have to get them all in one shot or else you may have to restart from the beginning.

The achievements that might make you restart are: Kill 'Em All (Zombies)

Any achievements with a progress counter are cumulative as long you Save and Quit.

All achievements will pop up in two ways: the normal steam achievement at the lower right corner, and the in-game one at the top-middle and bottom left.

There is an in-game list of achievements (press i than click Achievements). This will let you see your progress and a list to what to kill.

Good Hunting.
General Tips
- Talk to your Mentor (Task giver) and press Hint for basic gameplay info.

- Self inflicting damage and friendly fire are off.

-Warehouse inventory can lag if you got too many different stuff horded.

- When corpse looting or scavenging, these are shown on the minimap with a tiny white dot.

- Level up a character is base on gained skills, easiest is Medic, hardest is Charisma. In combat, Heavy weapon (Flamethrower) is the easiest to level.

- Press T to view Team, any Survivor you have can be instantly swap anywhere including in Wasteland by selecting and pressing X.

- In Red Daze, you walk slowly, cannot run, can dodge, Heath and Stamina do not regenerate (can still use Medkits or Food), and Sleep drain faster.

Zombies and Mutants cannot die (raise back from the dead) unless if you can turn them into a red stain. They respawn every time you Continue your game or move one sector away (require to despawn ragdoll).

However, you can draw them into the Green Zones by standing inside the edge of the Red Daze. Once they are close enough slowly enter back into the Green Zones, keep drawing them in, and kill them. This method only work with melee enemies.
Range enemies will require you to exploit their pathfinding which usually involve a type of barrier that block their firing range at the same time they move into the Green Zones while your in the Red Daze. When close to them, they may back away. Alternatively, they can run out of ammo.

It is possible to attract them by shooting them, this usually work if you do not overkill them first.

Doing the above statement can generally yield you: Money, corpse looting in which it may have Materials, Loot, Ammo, Melee weapon, Firearm, Outfit, Backpacks and Rest or... Empty.

As you progress as you capture settlements, the quality of items increase and eventually you will fight level 7 enemies that may drop Food and Medkit.

Squad mate is not recommended, they do not understand the meaning of tactical retreat nor any form of command. They have a tendency to run into Red Daze when engage with the enemies.

- A safest farm for loots is Boss location after you defeat it. To respawn quickly, switch between Survivor from another sector. Best loots are from Trolls.

- In Green Zones, red mist (red patch on Map) can reappear if it have spend under a Red Daze. This is due to the presence of a Zombie/Mutant Boss or upgrading/downgrading the Repeller.

- You can Save and Quit when your not near an enemy and in a Settlement you own like Stonedale Camp.

You can save when using any Bed found in Settlement and Wasteland. Quit without Saving than Continue, you will be back where you left off.

You can somewhat save in Wasteland but this require you to switch a Survivor in a Settlement than Save and Quit.

Should you encounter Hachi the dog, he will despawn when Save and Quit.

- When multiple Survivor and/or object are in close proximity, get close to it have your cursor point at the specific person or object you want to interact. It gets annoying when you interact the wrong person.

To interact the person in the Defense Turret, unfortunately you need to:
  • Interact with Defense Turret
  • Scroll down to Firing control, select "Clear Firing Position" and hit "Forbid"
  • Once that Survivor is down, you may interact.

- If you want to save Money and other Resource for Settlement upgrade, certain upgrade can be skipped (example: level 0 to level 2). These are:
  • Turret gun and Guard from Defense turret
  • Repeller Radius from Repeller
  • Loot and Survivor Search Team from Shelter (careful with these upgrade)
Down degrading those upgrade cost too.(yes that is [insert insult])

- Surplus item are best sold to Trader by a Survivor with (+20 and up) Charisma. However, avoid buying Material, Medkits and Ammo as it can be crafted in Workshop with Loot. If low on Loot do scrap any item. If your Warehouse is full, use a Survivor as pack mule.
Bugs and Workaround
- When one of your Settlement is over populated and you want to solve it, your choice are:
  • Transfer them to less populated Settlement
  • Find a Bed in the Wasteland than switch a Survivor from a Settlement. (safe, a bit buggy)
  • Leave them in a area without a Bed than switch a Survivor from a Settlement. (abandon)
To view the cap population for each Settlement: Map > Select [insert Settlement name] > press z.

There is a bug regarding to Sleep not filling up properly after sleeping even when population is at minimum. You need to "activate" Survivor in Team view, this is done correctly by been able to see Survivors complete stats (Sleep bar, Stamina bar, etc...).

- Repeller buff not working when loading a game. Unequip and reequip item with the corresponding buff affected. Agility=Armour, Charisma=Headgear or Face wear, Strength=Backpack or Armour, Endurance=Armour or Backpack.

- Weight glitch, do not press z with Zombie/Mutant Boss or you will receive weight without item to remove. Not fixable it is permanent but avoidable by looting manually.

- Rifle bug, when using it you do not get Firearm skill but Heavy weapon skill. These rifle are: "Sirius", "Dragoon" and "Murphy".

- Pistol bug, sometime it not hitting it mark even in line of fire (rare). Save and quit to fix it.

- Rare bug walk through anything however once you loot something it fix it self.

- Dead enemies sound effect bug. When you come back to where there was dead enemies, the death dialogue plays.
Settlement & Survivor Achievements
A single basic Settlement is where you have: Defense Turret #, Warehouse, Repeller, Radio station, and multiple Bed. It is also the place you will mostly interact with other Survivors you own.

Settlement

Good Mayor
Expand a settlement to 100%
- Basically get the Repeller to level 2 in Stonedale Camp. It is part of the main quest.

Before you can even start upgrading it, you will need Survivors with various Skills (Soldier, Builder, etc...) and upgrade Defense Turret that would boost Settlement Defense. You will also need to find Material and Food (depend what you want to upgrade).

Once you have the Requirements, upgrade it to level 2 and sleep for the next night.

Tower Defense
Kill 20 enemies while in a turret.
- As above statement but you must be the one doing the kills.

This one can be to achieved with one of three method:
  • Incoming Zombie Attack (view Map and see your Settlement Name with number of days)
  • Provoke from Repeller
  • Manually draw the Zombies into firing range

You want to do is:
  • Insure that Defense Turret is set to "Clear Firing Position"
  • Your Survivors has no weapons so they do little damage as possible

To draw the Zombies into firing range, you want to draw 3 or more Zombies so you have a high chance in getting a kill. Depending on the Turret gun range, you may run toward Defense Turret and select "Manual Control" before your Survivors has the chance to engage the Zombies.

Mow down the enemies 20 times and you get Tower Defense.

High Tower
Build and completely upgrade a level 6 tower.
- It bit buggy. Basically get a tower to level 6 with a level 6 turret.

There are only 5 place you can do this:
  • Old Military Base (bugged)
  • Broken Hills
  • Fourside
  • Komarov
  • Brewery

Governor
Capture all settlements.
- There is 14 in total.
  • Stonedale Camp
  • Blockpost
  • Crossway Pits
  • Miriden
  • Carnegie Family Villa
  • Manufactory
  • Expedition Campsite
  • Old Military Base
  • Broken Hills
  • Fourside
  • Komarov
  • Woodbury trail
  • Crossing
  • Brewery

Survivor

Squad Up
Recruit your first Survivor.
- The above statement is a bit misleading.

It is not recruit new Survivor but to interact with one of your Survivor and select "Recruit to the Squad (squad A)". This will require Reputation 304 and Charisma 9.

Reputation can be gain by:
  • Interact with Survivor, Trader and Mercenary by selecting "What's your back story?"
  • Receiving and completing Task by talking to any Survivor
Charisma can be gain by:
  • Interact with Survivor, Trader and Mercenary by selecting "What's your back story?"
  • Level up your Survivor bugged/misleading
  • Using headgear and face wear with Charisma
  • Upgrade Repeller into Charisma Buff
  • Recruit new Survivor

Legionnaire
Assemble a squad of 7 fighters.
- Similar to Squad Up but under one squad. You will also need to accumulate Reputation and one of your Survivor need high Charisma.

Very simple interact with a Survivor and select "Change Character" on 10 different Survivors.

Fully Equipped
Fully equip a Survivor.
- This achievement is a bit buggy you may want to unequipped everything than reequip.

There is 6 slots:
  • Head: any Beret, Cap, Hat, Headscarf, Headband or Helmet
  • Face: any Face bandanna, Glasses or Mask
  • Torso: any Armour Vest, Combat Armour, Flak Jacket or Shoulder pad
  • Back: any Backpack
  • Hands (2 slot): any Melee weapon, Firearm or Heavy weapon

They can be found by:
  • Random encounter (Ranger only)
  • White circle on the Map (one time only)
  • Randomly spawn in Stonedale Camp (limited time)
  • Upgraded Shelter than Survivor Search Team and wait a day

On the side note, it is best to keep 50 Survivors and no more if you want a good gaming performance when swapping between character better performance.

Hero
Get a Survivor to the maximum level.
- Maximum level is 10, you need about 921 points across all skills (not include items).

You can do it naturally or if you got resource to waste in exchange for skills you can downgrade certain structure and re-upgrade them.
Random Encounter Achievements
Simply put, these will randomly show up in sectors (including in Red Daze) you do not own.

Hachi
Find a dog.
- Probably your first Encounter. Hachi is identified as a brown circle on minimap.

There are 3 variant skin but the same dog model: St. Bernard, Rottweiler, and German Shepherd.

Short story: I was heading toward the trader at D-14, fought some zombies on my way there than Hachi show up out of nowhere and start to fight. It will take a few seconds before Hachi achievement unlock. Hachi can die.

Another short story: When Hachi (St. Bernard) dies and you can loot it corps, it called Chowder. German Shepherd skin, Firulais.

Exterminator
Kill 1000 enemies.
- Not that hard this come by naturally.

Blood Splatter
Kill 10 Enemies in 2 seconds
- This is best done with Heavy weapons, namely any Flamethrower. Using Squad mate work too.

To gather 10 or more enemies in one giving moment is not always easy however there is good way in Red Daze: Mutants and Zombies are attracted to each other in Green Zones, they will pursue and kill each other. Once they are bunch up, burn them all... All of them.

Alternatively, you can revisit Zombie or Mutant Boss location.

Western Troll
Kill the Troll in the West
- The Troll in the West is called Degenerating Zombie Troll and is located at D-3.

It is respawnable so you can farm high-end weapons and collect Blood Sample.

Eastern Troll
Kill the Troll in the East
-The Troll in the East is called Blood-thristy Mutant Troll and is located at Q-4.

It is respawnable so you can farm high-end weapons and collect Blood Sample.

Kill 'Em All (Zombies)
==============>Squad mate kill do not count.<==============

=========>Missable, do not complete the Laboratory<=========

Kill 'Em All (Zombies)
Kill every type of Zombie
- This one is the hardest achievement. There is 21 type of Zombies.

You will need to down grade your Repeller to access some Red Daze. Zombies has a higher chance to spawn at night.

To find a specific Zombie, they come in battle group and are located in specific sectors.

For example: you are looking for Bandit Zombie and come across a group of 20 or so Zombies but could not find any Bandit Zombie. However, you recognise one of the member (Sentry Zombie) and this group is on a reliable spawning point (Red Daze). So you decide to move away from this group, one sector away and come back. The group has change (respawn) and you have found more Sentry Zombie and a Bandit Zombie... with a rocket launcher.

If you cannot find any zombie group, quit and reload the game.
