Intro
With this simple farm you will be able to mass produce summons for only the most profitable of bosses, at a rate of around 25-30 per hour. Corruption enjoyers also get lots of burgers!
Before You Continue...
Before you go any further, I'd just like to inform you that this is an old and overcomplicated farm design that I don't use anymore. Instead, I have a newer and much better farm that I'd like you to use, this one.

The reason I don't recommend this farm anymore is because it requires WAY more time to farm vile mushrooms in addition to rotten chunks, and its just not worth it because you can easily buy vile powder from the Dryad. I highly recommend you use the new design, which although doesn't farm vile mushrooms, is easier and quicker to build while also being more efficient.

I will leave this guide up because the farm works still perfectly fine if you want to build it, but aside from the loss of vile mushrooms the new farm is better in every way!
Resources and Requirements
Before building the farm, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

First off, you will need to have killed Skeletron to have access to the mechanic and treasure magnet.

Secondly, you will need a lot of vertical space for the farm. It will need to be built high enough off the ground to prevent enemies from spawning below it, but low enough that harpies can't spawn. 70 blocks off the ground should be fine. It needs to be at least this high so that all enemies are forced to spawn in the farm. This will also allow the boss to be consistently spawned in the farm, which saves a lot of time when killing it.

Here's the list of materials:

Treasure Magnet accessory (very important)

2,400~ Dirt

20 Dart Traps (For killing enemies and harvesting mushrooms)

200 Wires

10 Actuators

A 1/2 Second Timer

2 Water Candles

2 Doors

800 Walls

200 Minecart tracks

420 Building Blocks of your choice

1,500 Grass Seeds or a Staff of Regrowth

200 Vile or Vicious Powder

4 Chests (Used to prevent meteors from landing)
Minecart Room
The first area of the farm is the AFK room, where you will slowly ride in a minecart and collect all of the items. To begin, place down all 200 minecart tracks in a straight line, then hammer the ends of the tracks to get the "bumper" version, which repels player when they bump into it. Next, encase the tracks with building blocks, with a single layer underneath the tracks, and a layer 4 blocks above them, giving it a total height of 6 blocks. Next, simply place doors at either end and fill the room with background walls and water candles. The completed room should look like this:

As of 1.4, worms will not be able to spawn if you are in front of background walls or have not moved for 5 seconds, so you won't need minions for protection.
Dirt Platforms and Wiring
The next part of the farm will the be the 11 rows of dirt where the enemies will spawn and mushrooms will grow.

Start at either end of the farm, placing the dirt in this configuration, 5 rows on the top, 6 on the bottom.
This maximizes space for vile mushrooms to spawn while still being in range of the loot magnet. Monsters will only spawn on the top portion and are also in range of the magnet.
Next, simply extend the dirt platforms to the other end of the mine cart room, placing lots of grass and an occasional corrupt or crimson seed along the way. To spread the corruption faster, use vile powder instead of seeds. It should look like this once finished:
All that is left now are the dart traps for the mushrooms and rotten chunks. For the mushrooms, begin by placing a trap in the empty spaces between every layer of dirt, including one on the topmost layer. These will be used to uproot the mushrooms for easy collecting. Connect all of the traps to a timer, preferably a 1 second or faster. For the rotten chunk traps, place 3 temporary blocks above the top of the farm and 10 blocks back, then place a trap facing the farm. Go another 10 blocks back and place another trap, continuing this until there are 9-10 total traps with 10 blocks of empty spaces between each other. The last trap should be about 100 blocks away from the edge. Make sure to actuate the traps and remove the temporary blocks when you are done! The entire configuration of mushroom and chunk traps should look like this:
Make sure that every single trap is aligned and actuated, otherwise the damage output will be severely reduced. Now that everything else is built, place 4 chests across the top of the farm, these will prevent meteorites from hitting the farm when not in use. The completed farm should similar to this:
Now that everything is complete, simply equip the loot magnet, switch on the timer, and ride on the tracks.
Boss Time
Depending on how long you afk, you may end up with enough items to craft 20, 50, or even 100 boss summons, which can take quite a while to get through. But don't worry, with an effective loadout and streamlined arena, a lot of time can be saved.

Out of the two, the Brain is the most straightforward to kill. Don't even bother with an actual arena, as the farm can fill that role. Some of the best weapons against this boss include the Hellwing Bow paired with Wooden Arrows, the Spinal Tap with Obsidian Armor, and the Night's Edge.

The Eater of Worlds can also be fought on the farm if it is high enough off the ground. Simply stand in the middle, summon him, and run away from him while shooting. If you use a very high dps loadout you can repeatedly kill the head segment and stunlock him, preventing him from outrunning or reaching you, even in Master Mode. The Star Cannon and Hellwing Bow with Wooden Arrows are the only weapons I recommend, as they are the only ones with infinite piercing and range.

After you've killed the boss and collected the drops, sell them to an NPC with max happiness to squeeze a little extra cash out.
Additional Notes
A few extra notes.

It is possible to die in the farm, but only from King Slime during a slime rain, as kills by the traps count towards his spawning. Slime Rain does not occur very often, but it killed me once and I haven't found a way to stop King Slime from spawning.

Dart traps are essential to the farm but can be hard to obtain in the necessary quantities. Use Dangersense potions when looking for them, and search the Dungeon before anywhere else, as it has a higher concentration of traps.

If you want to do other things on your computer but still want to run the farm, you can do so by hosting your world in multiplayer. When you do this the game will continue running even if you minimize it.

I did have a link here to a world with an example of this farm, but I removed it because it stinks. After I finish a few more farms I might post a world with this and more farms. No promises though.

For vile powder I usually just purchase a huge stack from the Dryad during the blood moon.
