How to Downpatch Little nightmares II

Welcome to my 3rd guide
in this guide ill tell you the proper way to downpatch your game to version 1.0.0!

Introduction

On 17th march 2021 Tarsier Studios realeased the first patch for Little nightmares II.
This patch introduced major changes to speedrun-critical parts of the game. Multiple strategies that were found by the community were patched out. To be able to still run the game with all these strategies we have to revert it to the first version where all the skips still work. This guide will show you step by step how that works. (unless you just want to downpatch for some reason lol)

The guide

1.First things first you gotta download the files.

If you dont trust me and wanna go ahead and stay safe
Go to speedrun.com little nightmares II in resources section and download the Ln2 Realease patch zip

2. Unpack the contents with Winrar

3. Find your steam library folder and open the LN2 folder (if you didnt change the folder location your Steam-folder should be located here C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Little Nightmares II)

4. if you want to keep the current version copy the Engine and Helios folders to a safe location

5. Replace the Engine and Helios folders in the Little Nightmares II directory with those from the zip file

6. Info. if you leave Steam in online mode it will download the update again and you will play on current patch. To put Steam in offline mode click "steam" in the top left corner and then click "go offline".

Conclusion

Congratulations you can now run Little nightmares II on version 1.0.0
