"By default, your AMD card might have 'Minimum Acoustic Limit' set to something crazy high, like almost 95% of your GPU's maximum.

What this means is that until your GPU gets up to this limit, the GPU's fan will run at the minimum setting and not bother ramping up with temperature until it gets to a certain thermal threshold.

By reducing the value for 'Minimum Acoustic Limit' as I have done here, your GPU's fan will work to keep temperature down long before the GPU hits maximum frequency. You might hear the GPU fan a bit more this way, but your GPU will run a bit cooler.

You can apply this as a global tuning or on a per-game basis."
