Championship Manager 2003-04 Database (FM23)

Descripción
Yes, we're doing this again! Perhaps the LSAT will simply study for itself

DISCLAIMER: Start all save games with the original FM23 database and NOT any transfer updates that come out - if you use a transfer update, certain leagues might be unplayable due to having the wrong number of teams.

DAY ONE SAVES:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sap3UwjQuEtxAQ4WtuSr0x24X81sW74m/ (all 63 leagues)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hMpqVgnvCrAVRtUBP8IZzkGbzgAL11YD/ (first divisions only, England/Spain/Italy/France/Germany/Netherlands)

COMPANION FILES (Extra leagues - AUS, EGY, JPN, USA) : https://drive.google.com/file/d/14RiqCP37_EHPlNhWhby69jO7JHThrAbg/ , the USA file doesn't run, I only put it here in case someone wants to fix it for me

PLAYER PICTURES: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TH9m1hm2KAiyLZ5TCdXHmw6K8uo6dFkt/ (copy/paste into your documents/SI/FM23/graphics/faces/faces folder, or wherever you have any other player faces from the sortitoutsi megapack etc.)

Because this file is so huge, it takes about four hours to start a new save game with the file loaded. In addition to deleting all the modern players, 39000+ retro staff and players were edited or created from scratch. I think this is longer than it took to start a game on FM22, and about as long as it took on FM21, but I haven't had too many chances to test. It looks frozen on the setting up database screen, but it isn't frozen. Once it gets past that, it runs normally. I will try to upload "day one saves" to help people out and allow them to look at the database or even play it without leaving FM open for four hours.

This is a comprehensive retro database with players and squads from the 2003-04 season. Legends, lower-league plodders, wonderkids and Freddy Adu. Relive great memories, create new ones, leave the thing on holiday overnight and watch a bizarre football-themed snow globe. 63 leagues have their full squads, giving you a rich and dynamic game world even if you don't want to load everything.

This database has been released four years in a row, first by MadScientistFM and later by myself. I'm very happy to build off his great work and bring it to the FM community once again for FM22.

Data was used from the original CM03-04 for the leagues and players that were fully researched at the time, from later FMs for leagues and players with murkier original research, and sometimes just from a newspaper report or a post on a fan forum saying a Conference North or Serie C player was fast or good at dribbling. Thankfully, there are so many online resources with accurate squad lists for such a wide variety of leagues.

Everything should be in a good release state, but with more users poking through the database I should be able to see more issues. Common issues in past releases are duplicate players (a player I accidentally created twice - more likely in Brazil, Spain and Portugal because of the nickname system) and typos in player attributes. There are also smaller issues like history records showing recent seasons that are more trouble to fix than they're worth. If you see something, don't feel shy about telling me in the comments.

Fully playable leagues:
Asia: Australia, China, S. Korea (first division only), Japan (first two divisions)
Africa: Egypt, South Africa (first division only)
North America: Mexico (first two divisions)
South America: Colombia, Uruguay (first division only), Argentina, Brazil (first two divisions)
Europe:
Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine (first division only)
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden (first two divisions)
France, Italy, Scotland, Spain (first three divisions)
England (first six divisions, down to conference N/S)

If you want to play a more realistic game in the English lower leagues, I would like you to load in the players from the four leagues beneath the English Conference North/South. For some reason I added those too.

Known issues:
It would be so cool if someone could put the 2002 teams in the 2022 World Cup. I know this was supposed to be a 2003 database, there's still the winter issue, the host - I don't care, I would love to play the 2002 WC in this thing. As it stands, if you want to know how Tomasz Radzinski and Dwayne De Rosario would have performed in a World Cup, this file might be for you.

There is an editor problem with the USA leagues and continental qualification, so for now I can't release a complimentary MLS+USL A-League file. I wouldn't recommend loading or playing MLS, since none of the newer clubs (LAFC, Atlanta etc) will have any players. Retro MLS and USMNT players are still included. Two years ago I made what I thought was a pretty novel setup with promotion and relegation from MLS, and a second division that contains both real life 2003 USL A-League teams and future Superdraft/MLS players allocated by region - a Miami team to put all the Floridians, a New England team, etc. That's kind of buried away and I'm not sure how to activate it.

The Argentinian league, the Serbian league and the Polish league don't create fixtures for the first season, but they're fine after that, not sure what the issue is there. My guess is the league files look for specific fixtures that aren't available.

If a league, for example Serie A, has 20 teams now but it only had 18 teams in 2003, it will have 20 teams in the database (the legitimate 18 + the two strongest teams from Serie B).

Any points deductions are impossible to remove without making a separate advanced rules file for each effected country. VAR is also an absolute menace to get rid of.

Some modern day financial stuff might be grafted on top of this, though I made sure to get rid of the obvious ones like Newcastle, Man City and PSG.

PICTURE PACK:
The pictures are mostly done, I'll put them up in a day or two. Every year they change the UIDs assigned to created players, so there's some batch file name adding which wouldn't be a technical hurdle at all if it wasn't for the whole UID system getting extremely mad whenever the "copy" button is pressed in the editor.

Interesting clubs from around the world, ignoring the obvious megaclubs and the bigger clubs that had their golden age in this era like Deportivo and Lyon

Huracan Tres Arroyos (Argentina) - I think the Argentina league setup is kinda janky in this version but if you can play as them you have a pre-rat tail Rodrigo Palacio trying to drag results out of farmers in front of a meager audience, you are by far the second best Huracan, I don't know how they got promoted in real life

Beveren (Belgium) - you have like 12 different Ivorians including Yaya Toure and Arsenal send you players on loan too
Dinamo (Croatia) - Modric, Kranjcar, Corluka, Eduardo and pure vibes

Leeds (England) - the finances probably look like whatever crypto is doing now. But the squad is still decent and the AI can keep them up through -10 points and administration sometimes

Amica (Poland) - win an Ekstraklasa for Big Refrigerator

Obilic (Serbia) - war crimes tribunals are not a feature in FM23

Leganes (Spain) - eccentric businessman from Argentina buys a squad full of Argentinian players and leaves

Cafe Opera (Sweden) - this was a football club owned by a nightclub

I want to love this database. But the valuation of players is a bit insane no? Toplayers are between 200 and 400 miljoen..

Is there a regens file for this? And if yes if we create a game on FM23 with regen file and the open the save with FM24 will the regens still generate like they would in FM23?
