The following database takes the usual 4 year cycle for a 32 Team World Cup and condenses it into 1. Qualifiers begin in late December 2022, and end in early March 2023. Draw for the World Cup is in April 2023, and Final Tournament takes place in June/July 2023.

The qualifiers have been slightly redesigned to accomodate all confederations (so the winning OFC team qualifies directly without an intercontinental playoff). The qualifiers also include countries that are not officially members of FIFA or their continental confederation (examples include Guadeloupe and Micronesia but they aren't the only ones). The addition of these nations slightly changes how certain qualification competitions are conducted, although adherence to current qualification structures has been maintained as much as possible. 32 teams qualify for the final tournament (which is on a 2 year interval) and a host nation is selected from the qualified participants.

A few things to note:
a) Editor Verification may be required prior to being able to run the database (use the FM23 Pre-Game Editor to conduct the verification if required).

b) Continental Competitions such as the Euros, Copa America, Gold Cup, etc. have been removed from this database. This database is World Cup specific.

c) To save time holidaying when you load in, try loading a league with a November 2022 start date (that's when the draw for the preliminary qualifying rounds occurs). Loading Finland, and selecting early 2023 Pre-Season loads you in 5 days prior to the first qualifying round matches.

d) To access lower reputation national teams, you'll need to load a larger database (your choice depending on how much realism you want).

e) If you want realistic fixture scheduling for the FIFA World Cup Group Stage (and not every game on a matchday taking place at the same time), disable 'Use Wednesday and Saturday Matchdays' in your game settings right before the draw for the World Cup takes place (early April 2022).

f) This database has not been tested with a manager in charge of a domestic league club, so I can't tell you what to expect should you choose a club save with this database loaded.

g) This database does not unlock the Germany or Japan national team squads. You will require a seperate fix for them to be operational within the game.
