Starting Meal Selector

In 1 collection by blarglebottoms
17 items
Adds a menu option to select the starting meal, in case the game didn't give you the option you wanted when you launched it/returned to the lobby. Also provides a way to automatically start the game with a dish pre-selected.

Menu is available under the pause menu.

For multiplayer: only the host needs the mod.

Nice mod, that helps try modded dishes, or, if you're not me, select pizza every run

0.1.0 released

Changes include:
* Will no longer override locked dishes, for franchises, speed runs, and maps linked to dishes
* Added "Apply" button to menu, which must be pressed before changes will be applied, to prevent changing the franchise kitchen too rapidly and causing a game crash
* Choosing a specific dish will no longer force all dishes to that option. Instead, a dish will automatically be added to the pedestal. To choose something else, just pick up the dish and it will be deleted.
* Random should no longer give duplicate dishes
* Alphabetized the list of dishes in the menu
* Removed KitchenLib dependency
* Moved menu location to the root of the pause menu (related to removing KL)

Sorry, yeah, it seems like the way the pedestal and dish papers works was changed pretty significantly in the latest update.

I haven't confirmed it, but it seems like the reason the paper gets bounced back is the pedestal acts like it has a hidden paper, and the method of "change all the dishes to the selected dish" changes this dish, but they also have code to prevent putting the same dish on the pedestal, meaning you can't actually select it.

I'll probably have a fix (more of a rewrite, really) ready on the 8th or 9th, after I get back from vacation.

Yeah, I was able to go through the menu and select a meal, but the recipe would not place in the desk in the lobby and it'd just pop back to the table and then my game crashed.

mod appears to be broken after latest update. after using mod settings to select a dish to spawn you are unable to place the dish into the plan.

is the mod able to show the menu installed from other mods?

Would there be any way to have the meals show up in alphabetical order? It's possible you already have that as a feature, but if so I haven't been able to find the setting.

Mod has been updated to v0.0.7:
* "Random" will now reroll the available dishes in the lobby
* "Surprise me" has been added, which will constantly reroll the available dishes in the lobby, while it remains selected. Just load up a dish into The Plan and figure out what you're making after you start. Note: The test kitchen in the lobby is disabled while this feature is active.
* Removed hardcoded values, so dumplings/sushi might be in different locations
