PKP Pesa GAMA Locomotive

Pesa Gama is a family of diesel and electric locomotives built from 2012 by Pesa Bydgoszcz.
Gama locomotive is dedicated for every European market, that includes the Polish one, because used construction solutions consider specific conditions of Polish railway infrastructure. Gama has a modern drive with one traction static converter cooled with fluid and two 2-level inverters for each motor bogie. It’s equipped in electrodynamic and resistance brakes. The transmission of the motor power from bogies to the box happens with the use of pitched traction rods.
There are more than 50 locos used in Poland commonly used in cargo trains.
The world premiere of Gama took place in 2012 during the InnoTrans fair in Berlin.
Gama was awarded by Institute of Industrial Design in 2013 in the category "Public Sphere".
