Most likely it is an older version of his texture pack. That's pretty much all I use. Highly recommended!

There's plenty of room to dissipate the smoke up above, but I don't think that even matters. This is all inside the tree mesh, so everything passes through freely to the outside. You can just jump through the side of the tree to get out.

How do you vent the smoke?
