Introduction & Map Icons
NOTE: These maps were completed prior to the UPDATE 1.2 "KRÄHE", which has apparently introduced new content, including two new rooms. I will update this note to reflect when I have updated the maps to reflect this content.

What follows is the maps I've put together for all of the major locations in SIGNALIS with corresponding information regarding enemy placement, ammo, weapons, equipment, key items and points of interest in the game.

Obviously, this means that this will involve several SPOILERS, so use at your own risk.

I've tried to retain the general look and iconography of the in-game maps so that it's consistent, and where possible I've used the same names for points of interest and rooms.

Maps are presented in the order in which they are encountered.

Note that this is for a NORMAL run. CASUAL and SURVIVAL runs appear to adjust some of the particulars, most notably ammo counts, and I don't hate myself enough to make three separate versions of these maps for the different modes. If you spot any mistakes, please let me know and I will correct it (but please double-check that you are doing so against a NORMAL run).

Below is the legend for the maps:

Penrose-512 - Prologue
Leng - B1 - ████████████
Leng - B2 - Worker Accommodations
Leng - B3 - New Medical Ward
Leng - B4 - Old Medical Ward
Leng - B5 - Service Level
Leng - B6 - Staff Accommodations
Leng - B7 - Protektor Accommodations
Leng - B8 - Controller Accommodations
Leng - Excavation
Nowhere
Penrose-512 (Past & Nowhere)
Nowhere - Leng - B1 - ████████████
Rotfront - Apartments (Ground Floor)
Note on Rotfront - there are several rooms which become inaccessible as you proceed through the chapter - I have not shown these on the maps as the thought of trying to work it into these layouts after sixteen of these things makes me want to die.

The most important one that will become inaccessible after you pick up the key items is the Book Store. Make sure you've done everything you need in there before you leave.

Rotfront - Apartments (Upper Floor)
Rotfront - Metro Station
Thanks & Acknowledgements
  • Shout-out to Projecticarus001 who posted the names of the NOWHERE rooms in several threads - while I have not used all of them as I felt they wouldn't be as descriptive based on the room in-game, I did use several of them.

  • I'd also like to thank RJsmangit for his speedruns of the game; there were times where I needed to check my map notes but had passed the point of being able to confirm the details, and being able to navigate through an hour video made things extremely easy to double-check things.

  • All the forum users who have been posting on the lore and details of the game - it's helped confirm my own notes and naming conventions several times.

Updates & Corrections
This section will note any updates and corrections that have been made with credit to those who pointed out the issues.

2022/11/16 - Updated Map Legend to include Dark Rooms label.
2022/11/19 - Corrected the link to RJsmangit's Youtube Channel (not sure how the game trailer slipped in there).
2022/11/20 - Corrected B4 - Old Medical Ward to reflect the save room and its correct contents. Thanks to RandomPlayer20221111 for picking it up.
2023/01/03 - Corrected Nowhere Access Shaft to reflect the entryway. Thanks to Sylthana for pointing it out. Also corrected the legend so the stairs up and stairs down label are correctly labelled.
2023/08/09 - Corrected the maps for the New Medical Ward, Staff Accommodations and Excavation. Thanks to ElizatronicWarfare, MANTIS and Sylthana for pointing the errors out.

You managed to do a very well done job making a comprehensive series of players guide maps for the rest of the fandom that manage to recreate the floor layouts of each location. The Floor Map of Nowhere in particular is the most impressive of all since it is a map that manages to layout the a location that is non-euclidean in nature.

I will be curious to see any potential updates when it comes to the two additional rooms as
of the update.

I was also wondering if there will also be a map outlining the layout of Ende after Rotfront since technically it appears to be its own location after Ariane's room after the Rotfront Section in the future? Granted I'm unsure how making a map for Ende could be approached but given some of the information regarding enemy placement, ammo, weapons, equipment, key items and points of interest to be found in Ende; it makes me ponder on its potential inclusion if for nothing else than completion sake for any info in Ende that could prove helpful.

I dont think there's a danger in getting cut off of rooms with key items inside as they become such only after you have picked these key items, otherwise you woud get stuck. You can only lose access to rooms with optional loot for the feeling that everything is falling apart in the facility and getting consumed by flesh or smth, but you cant lose access to a room that is being your only way forward before you unlock a shortcut or another path. I guess

B8 Storch Dorm has Ara vent entrance, the map doesn't display it.

Shouldn't the room with the microfilm viewer in Leng B1 be labeled library?

The game definitely adjusts items depending on saves loaded/deaths. I've definitely had items appear when revisiting previously cleared rooms after dying/reloading a save. I played on survival difficulty though.

@FlashDeLima the truth is I've never noticed this. But I've only played Normal runs so far, once for my first playthrough, and the other for the maps with minimal reloads required.

According to what I've read on the forums, apparently the game does respawn and/or adjust item counts depending on how often you've died and/or your current available resources.

I'll be able to experiment a little on my next runthrough to update the maps.

Digimonk your maps are extremely helpful already so don't feel pressured to keep them constantly updated.

By the way any idea how the item spawn system works? Playing in "Survival" mode decreases the quantity of ammo you get, but does it also remove certain items? On top of that there seems to be a "reload adjustment" aspect. If you die/reload a save multiple times you start seeing new items in rooms you've been before. Some easy examples are the saverooms in the mines and Rotfront apartments (heals spawn after reloading).

So far the only two new places are basically secret rooms that wouldn't make sense on the current maps anyway, so I don't think you should feel too obligated to include them.

Looks like there are new areas, so I'll simply update the description to reflect for now.

Cheers, thanks. I did see that the update had apparently introduced some new content, but I really don't have the time at the moment to play through again to confirm all the new areas. I'll update the page to reflect if it becomes apparent that there are new rooms/areas.
