The Ultimate Achievement Guide: Gujian 3

This guide is designed for Expert mode gameplay. Contains: Light spoilers, entries for important side quests, artisan guide, and how to obtain outfits for the gang. Use at your own discretion.

Starting Up

FIRST AND FOREMOST
DO NOT launch the game from the shortcut! The game should be launched from the Library where you can select which server to play on. The bottom one is the American server.

Important Tips

• Check around the map for side quest indicators before proceeding with the main questline
  
• Make frequent visits to Lotuscape to craft items
  
• Do all quest board tasks ASAP
  
• Make a save for the achievements with different outcomes

Prologue

Chapter 1

Ambergrass

Collect all 20 pieces of Ambergrass in the Amber Reach with Xuange

Chapter 3

Focus on getting enough hits in to gain Morale and spam attacks on the Mutated Demons core.

Quick Battle	Kill the Mutated Demon before it attacks the Shadowchase Gate 3 times
The King's Glory	Defeat the Mutated Demon without failing once in Expert difficulty

Chapter 7

After confronting Tao Kuan you'll soon fight him along with his henchmen. All you need to do is quickly take them out so it’s only Tao Kuan and take his hits. Make sure you’re around full health to make it easier.

Windfall

Obtain 800 coins during the battle with Tao Kuan

Chapter 9

During the battle, focus on deflecting Yulin’s yellow attacks and spam attacks on him. Be sure to save enough stamina for his red attacks.

Swift Defeat	Complete the battle against Yulin within 60 seconds
Songs of Old Time	Complete the prologue

Act 1

Chapter 2

Make your way down the Ancient Cloister with Yulin. Be careful you don’t fall off the map when jumping on those floating rocks.

Neglected Ruins

Avoid falling in the Ancient Cloister

There are plenty of pots scattered around the map.

So Fragile

Destroy 23 pots while exploring the Ancient Cloister

Get the Heluo fishes to shoot yellow lightning balls into a Darklurker then kill it while it has the lightning around it.

Darker Lurkers

Kill 5 Darklurkers that have been enhanced by the Heluo fishes

Halfway down, jump out to the side and step onto the moving rock. When you get on the platform with the Wyrm you will get the achievement.

Timid Pale Wyrm

Find the hidden Pale Wyrm

Chapter 3

When you reach the Marsh, you’ll fight the Mirage. You can play it safe by dodging his attacks and keeping a long distance from his scream move and red attacks.

Unfallable: Mirage

Avoid getting knocked down by the Mirage

Chapter 5

You just need to clear out all the demons where the blue circles are on the map.

Demon Invasion

Complete Demon Horde Invasion Quest in Skyelk

Chapter 7

You’ll go through three phases fighting the Inner Demon. Dodge his red attacks and keep your stamina up. Somewhere along the middle phase he will hide under the ground then knock you down. Don’t worry, this is supposed to happen and won’t count towards the achievement. You’ll be in the final phase where you can finish him off.

Chapter 9

Buying Flowers
After playing Lost Tales three times, head on over to the markets to trigger the quest. This counts as partial completion towards ‘Do You Like Flowers’.

In the Lakeshore Trigrams, find the correct path without failing once

Chapter 12

Watch Your Feet	Do no fall into the abyss in the Nameless Depths
Not Sturdy Enough	Destroy 10 Pillars in the Nameless Depths

Chapter 19

False Truth	Deceived by an Icecrawler who has disguised itself as an ice crystal
Relay Race	Hit an ice ball with an ice ball at Lake Ding - Do this a couple of times in case it doesn't show

Chapter 20

Saving before you reach the destination is recommended since this achievement will be a bit challenging and you can reload if you mess up fighting the boss.

Quick as Lightning	Defeat Phantasm of Jinyun without using any healing items
Ice and Fire	Defeat Phantasm of Jinyun on Expert

Chapter 23

Ancient Stone Tablets

Find and record all the stone tablets in Farnight Bay

Chapter 25

Long Awaited Reunion (Part 1)
At Farnight Bay in the evening, talk to Cen Ying sitting on a rock to activate the quest to find her missing uncle.

Chapter 32

At the portal, using the skill to knock down demons will help.

Mini Combo	Reach a combo of over 50 attacks
Mega Combo	Reach a combo of over 200 attacks

After waking from the hallucination:
- Lost Tales NPCs in Yanling
Search Yangping and Yangling questboards for artisians
- Wei Conghua from 'Senior Peer' Yanling questboard

Chapter 33

Shadow of Yesterday

Complete Act 1

Act 2

Take care of business related to Yanling since it will be destroyed at the start of Act 3!
- Lotuscape expeditions: North of Yanling, South of Yanling, Outside of Yanling
- Lost Tales NPCs in Yanling

Chapter 6

- Head to Skylek with Cen Ying and start 'Wild Soul' quest
Recruitment:
- Luo Chuhong (Yanping)
- Wake the pig (Dream Yangping)
- Wake Xia Chuhong (Dream Yangping)
- A Cat? (Dream Yangping, Dragonfish at Amber Reach)
Inspect the water and say 'Yes' (See Chapter 17)
- Giorgio from 'Able Hands' (Yanping questboard)

Chapter 8

Save your progress when you get to the platform with the three swinging cages. You can replay this chapter for either achievement.

Unexpected Joy	Obtain the treasure only obtainable after knocked away by a cage - Get hit by the first cage knocking you right, then unseal the bell
Agile Body	Don't get knocked away by cages before meeting Onyx Swallow Elder

Chapter 9

After talking to the swallows, go to Yangping in the Dream Realm and investigate all of the items. Go back to regular Yangping. Before you proceed, make a save here since there will be two options to choose from. Your first achievement should be 'Love Remains' then reload your save for 'Dream Faded'.

Investigate all items at Yangping in the Dream Realm then choose ‘Wedding decorations’.

Have Yue Sanlang take away Yu Mengzhi to heal her

Choose 'Corpses and a prescription'. (Obtainable around the end of the game.)

Outfit: Onyx Plume Dress (Yun’wuyue)
Pick up the box besides Yu Mengzhi to get the recipe before investigating the strange twig.

Chapter 13

Demon Devoured
When you find Beiluo in the dreamscape, choose not to give him the shards. Find the Shadowchase Cub on the map and give it the shards. This will get you the achievement later on in the game.

Chapter 14

Outfit: Lotus Bloom (Cen Ying)
After recieving the letter from the swallows, go to the Yanling questboard for 'Fabric Delivery'. Complete this to recieve the outfit.

My Homeland (Part 1)
Travel to Skylek and go to the right where the Hospice is to initiate My Homeland. Dawn will ask you to bring back 5 Fireshield stones located at Amber Reach. Investigate the greater demon afterwards. Return to Skylek afterwards to get a food recipe from him and see Dawn. The rest of this quest will be complete in Act 3 after the invasion.

Chapter 17

Not Dyed

Defeat 4 octopus tentacles

Shu Ge
At the Undersea Palace you just need to interact with 7 books.

Life of the Scholar

Learn about Ge Shu's life and her past in the Undersea Palace

Chapter 18

Recruitment:
- Swallow at Farnight Bay then return to Onyx Kingdom

Chapter 20

Blackie
At Detong you'll come across some kids who are concerned about their dog. Go to the cave and use Sense to investigate the items in the cave. The green disc on the floor should be the last item you should check, otherwise you won't be able to get the achievement.

Investigate Blackie's disappearance and tell his master the truth

Chapter 21

Explore the Swordforge and make your way to the bottom. Make frequent saves unless you want to start over.

Smooth Jumping

Don't fall off the map in the Swordforge

Chapter 23

You should be on the lower level and have to walk across a sword to get to the platform. Don't make your way onto the platform yet. Make a save before this boss fight since there will be two options afterward that will grant different achievements. I fought the boss for Last Breath then loaded my save for Blood Slave.

Dexterous	Do not get caught by Yin Tieshan's giant hands - Just properly execute the QTE in the fight
Last Breath	Yin Tieshan would die soon after waking up - Choose 'Don't save' . Triggers after chasing down Xiao Zan
Blood Slave	Defeat Yin Tieshan who has been made into Wuzhao's blood slave - Choose 'Save him' . You will fight him around Act 4

Chapter 25

Green Tung
You need to open up your items inventory and find Green Tung to trigger the quest.

Don't get hit by falling rocks in the Abyss of Guilt

Don't get caught by Wanxi's grasp skill

Demon Tide	Have more than 10 demons on Cetacea at any one time
Free Falling Demon	Use Energy Skill to knock a dying Fogblade demon off Cetacea
Aerial Demon Hunter	Defeat more than 30 demons while on Cetacea

Chapter 37

This is the final chapter in this act. Do anything you need to do in Yanling since it will be destroyed!

Thornheart
As you wait out the storm, investigate the side quest markers before leaving the area. You'll get a recipe for Thornheart afterwards and also complete 'Do You Like Flowers'

Shadow of a Giant Beast (Part 1)
Once you’re at Farnight Bay, go to Qixia and ask about Beiluo’s past. After talking to the villagers and exploring the dungeon, proceed playing through Act 3. You'll be able to finish the rest once it's time to go to Lake Ding.

Young Wolf
After fighting the Inner Demon proceed forward to the next boss. This is where you'll find the group of illusion children. The first batch is to the right in the dyeing center, the next on the right to the side of the dying vats, and the last is to the left beside the pavilion.

Don't destroy the cores the demons leave behind. Just wait for new demons to spawn then kill them as they absorb the core.

Shadow of a Giant Beast (Part 2)
Now should be a good time to head back to Skylek to finish off Shadow of a Giant Beast when it’s time to head to Lake Ding. Find Nissa and complete the objectives. You’ll also receive the coronation outfit.

Go to the viewpoint in Skylek with Cen Ying to obtain her weapon skin. There should be a building to the right that has stairs that will lead to the bridge. The weapon skin should show up in the section later

One Stone Three Birds	Freeze three enemies with one ice ball at Lake Ding - Do this a couple of times in case it doesn't show

Demonbones should be available on the Spirit Realm map. Go there to complete the quest.

This Act goes by fairly quick so it's a good idea to make Dark Wail is maxed out since XuanYuan will leave the party after the final fight.

Chapter 4

At Lotuscape, choose to follow the incense.

Lantern Smasher	Find the quickest route while chasing Ye'changeng in the Threshold - Follow the supplement video to get the achievement:
Demon Devoured	Let Ye Changeng disappear completely
Heartless	Finish the side quest Heartless

After dealing with Ye'changeng, go back to Wuzan.

The Guilts

Investigate all inscriptions upon stone walls in Abyss of Guilt

- Visit Yangping and check on Liu

These should be complete if you make frequent visits around the map and Lotuscape.
