How to play Couch (local) CO-OP

So it seems kind of confusing starting local CO-OP in this game for some reason, so here's a short guide for anyone else who struggled.

First you need to be in a game world, like this



Once you're in your world and have both controllers turned on (or keyboard + controller, yada yada), you need to press a button to bring up the co-op window.

Xbox Controller: View Button See here, number 3[support.xbox.com]]
Keyboard: = key
PS4 Controller: Share (I think)

The co-op section looks like this



Once you have that up on the controller you want player 2 to use, press the relevant button again to bring up a second popup



With this popup, click the right arrow to go to the second slot, then press A (or X).



Then press A (or X) again.



Another little sackboy will appear out of nowhere.

Limitations

As of 28 Oct 2022, it is not possible to have two players from the same PC play online. Once you connect online, Player 2 will disconnect.

COOP also appears to be limited to 60 FPS.

Problem Solved: if u play with PC and PS controller - u have to launch ds4windows (or how it calls for ps5) then u start the game. Press "=" on a keyboard, then press "=" again and move to the right with -> arrow and ur gamepad.
Проблема решена: если вы хотите запустить геймпад с клавиатурой - запустите прогу для пс на пк (ds4windows), запустите игру, в лобби, когда вы уже можете управлять персонажем, нажмите "=" на клавиатуре 2 раза, стрелку вправо, создастся второй профиль, там уже нажимайте на геймпаде, всё должно заработать.

Doesn't work with standard XBone. I am on Linux so that may be why.

@raincandy have a look online at using a ps2 controller on PC, you'll need an adapter and something for windows to think it's a ps3/4 controller

JayKBud its a bit weird but in the steam controller (hit the steam button in game and go to controller settings).
Go to remap controllers and change the steamdeck so itsnot thelast controller (play around with it).

The game fores the Steam Deck built-in controller as Player 1 and is unplayable. Anyone have a fix? (Deck controller is already set to lowest priority)
