Perseverance: Part 2 - 100% Achievement Guide

Welcome to this short but sweet achievement guide for the horror/drama VN—Perseverance Part: 2!

Warning

Before we continue, I just wanted to warn others not to make too many save points. After my 1st completion of the story, I had 60 save files in attempting to figure out some of the more vague achievements. On my 2nd run, I was unable to save in ANY slot because the game would freeze in the save menu. I advise saving with large gaps in between.

Unfortunately, I couldn't save scum because the feature broke for me so no optimal save path. If you want to get the more vague achievements out of the way first, use the partial walkthrough choices.

Achievements

I grouped these 4 achievements together since it's easier to be aware of them early to reduce the number of playthroughs for the 100%. In the next category, I put down a partial walkthrough with the choices I made to get the next 4 achievements in the same run.

Voices from the past
Answer every phone call from a demon of the past.


Every time there is a call, pick up the phone. If done correctly, this unlocks when you answer the phone after escaping Murphy.

Jane's secret
Find and read Jane's diary.


When you inspect the bathroom, click the trash first and everything else (from top to bottom). Rewind with the mouse wheel if Jill shows up before you click all of them. Combine this playthrough with "Private investigator" since referencing the diary to Bob and the Sheriff when you mention you are a Private Detective is an option. When you the soldier and Brock start talking badly about you, a 3rd option to reach for the diary should be present.

Private investigator
This is my case.


This is obtained for mentioning you are a Private Detective whenever given an opportunity. I believe having Jane's diary is also important for this as it changes the follow-up dialogue. If done correctly, this will unlock when you meet Ellen for the first time and tell her that you are a Private Detective. See the partial walkthrough category for additional info.

Mystery master
Uncover all secrets.


This achievement is unlocked by being thorough when talking to others and inspecting clues. In general, I avoided flirting/romance, angry responses, and picked dialogue options that unlocked more lines of inquiry (as if I were a detective). As an example, when in the bathroom I clicked all clues before the forced interaction with Jill. When Jill and the Sheriff catch me at their station, I inspected the drawer. When I was in Murphy's computer room, I picked all the other options first. If done correctly, this achievement will unlock after you successfully access Murphy's computer (password: Primal Predator) and your only option is to leave. This is best done in combination with the 3 achievements above. See the partial walkthrough category for additional info.

For the recurring flashback, keep selecting "Pull the trigger" and try to save the girl.

Funky affair
Spend the night with Bob.


When choosing who to talk to, pick Bob and stay with him.

Kinky affair
Spend the night with Ellen.


When choosing who to talk to, pick Ellen and stay with her.

Lost lover
The mission comes first.


If you spent the night with Ellen, threaten her when you are reunited after being kidnapped.

It's you!
Find out who Murphy is.


After the night is over at the Motel, Brock and Murphy will talk to you. When you talk to Murphy, pick "It's you!". I'm not sure what triggers this option but I got it on my 1st playthrough. On my 2nd attempt to get "Mystery master", I did not have this option.

Murphy's secret
Uncover the conspiracy.


Click on every option before you successfully access Murphy's computer (password: Primal Predator).

Coup de grace
Return a gift.


After escaping from Murphy by loosening the rope, you will encounter a zombified Dave. Step away and leave him the knife.

Mercy
Let him live and let him go.


When you see Brock again regarding your car, pick: "Why wasn't I supposed to be here?" & "Come on, Brock. I'm tired..."

Am I the Devil?
Reach the end.


Unlocked when you are given the choice to shoot Bob who is heavily injured. I shot him.

Outsmarting Death
Finish the game without dying.


Every time you die, just reload a save. It will still give you the achievement.

• Brock encounter: "Why wasn't I supposed to be here?" & "Come on, Brock. I'm tired..."

This guide is un-useable in it's current state. It has no concrete waalktrough that works for all achievements. Just a random bit of hints scattered around with no clear walktrough.

I've just got "No remorse" by not only choosing "Pull the trigger" option, but constantly telling Dave's ghost to f*ck off; in other words, I kept refusing to talk with him constantly, and that's worked: I got the achievement even before the moment with saving (or leaving) the girl.
BTW, I also kept refusing to pick up calls from the unknown number; dunno if it's important.
