Full Walkthrough (a pet shop after dark)

Just Do Your Job

For now, just follow the shopkeeper's instructions: Feed the pets, water the plants, and go to sleep. The game will close and restart automatically, this is normal.

Turn Off the Lights

After the game restarts, you'll need to think outside of the box and interact with the game's main mechanic to proceed.

If you get stuck, the game will eventually make it obvious if you do your job again and loop the game. But essentially you need to open up the game's folder and delete the (LIGHT) file. On the Steam version, you can right-click the game on your library and go to "Properties" > "Local Files" > "Browse...". Otherwise, for the itch.io version, you'll need to find where you downloaded the game and open it there.

After doing so, go back to the game and try to move around.

Make a Call

After turning off the lights, you can click on the two books on the shelf in the bedroom to get your hints.



Go to where the photo is hinting at the hallway that had the vase and click on the indicated spot 4 times to enter a hidden room.

There's a telephone, but what number do you dial?: in the game folder go to (HALL) > (BACKROOM) and open up the (TELEPHONE) text file to get the phone number.

Punch in the number which should be 502 and you'll learn about main story of this game. Your first mission will be collecting 3 rings.

The Forest

Where is this forest that the mysterious voice is talking about? Well, it's where all the plants are. So, just stroll on to the front of the shop to start the puzzle.

Click on the sign on the shop counter to get your hint. What do you do?: If you go to (FRONT) > (LIST) in the game folder, you'll see a file that says (WATER). So, water the plants in the order depending on the symbols shown in the game. Remember to check the sign in the game after you water each plant.



If you're really stuck: Water the plant with 3 circles, then 5 circles, then 1 circle, then 5 diamonds, and finally the last plant with no shapes on it.

If you mess up, you can call the person on the phone again to reset the puzzle. Otherwise, you'll get the 1st ring and the game will restart.

Let It Indulge

Turn off the lights, find the hidden room, and make the phone call like last time to progress the game.

Apparently we need to let "it" indulge. That sounds like we're feeding something, so just head to the room with the pets and wait. And I literally mean, wait for several minutes. There should be an indicator on the top left to show you're making progress and you'll get dialogue from our protagonist if you're successful.



The creature should appear in the game folder, (SHOP) > (PETS). Now, we need to feed it. Click on the cupboards to find out where the pet food is. How do you feed it?: Go to (SHOP) > (CUPBOARDS) to find the (PETFOOD) file. Simply copy and paste the file to where the creature is in (PETS) to feed it. If you lose the file somehow, you should be able to interact with the cupboard again to get more (PETFOOD).

Keep feeding the creature while making sure to advance dialogue each time. You'll get the 2nd ring and the game will restart.

Under the Window

Do the usual thing and make the call again.

Your only hint is that it's under the window. Where is it?: Literally right under the window in the bedroom, hover your cursor near the bottom of the window and click on the prompt.

Now for probably the hardest puzzle in the game. Interact and open up the chest. go to the game folder and find its contents in (BASEMENT) where it is in a (CHEST) .zip folder. Extract the folder to reveal various images.

The chest's contents is your hint for this puzzle, but it's all scrambled. You quite literally have to put the puzzle pieces together. For your convenience though, I've already made the image for you:



So, what does it all mean?: Firstly, you need to know which direction to go, either right or left, follow the arrows on the circle clockwise, starting from the top. Then, you need to understand what the dots mean on the image separate from the circle they resemble the dots in the options menu, specifically the Sound Volume. Combine these two hints in order to escape the basement.

If you're really stuck: Choose the correct shape on the Sound Volume meter before clicking on the right or left arrow according to the image. The order is:

• right/triangle

You'll get the last ring, return to the phone and make the call.

Find the Key

Now that you have the rings, you can interact with the vase to see familiar shapes in it. Simply click on the symbols in the correct order. But what if you weren't paying attention?: Go to the game folder to find the (〇〇〇) text file that will remind you of the ring symbols. Remember that each pair has a "within" and a "without".



If you still don't get it: The (〇〇〇) file indicates the colour and shape of each symbol. It seems like every player gets a random order, so I can't give you your specific answer, but I can demonstrate my solution.

For example, my text file is:

So, I can arrange it like this:

Therefore, my solution from left to right is:



Another way to think about it is that the colours indicate the background (either black or white), which means the shape will always be the opposite colour.

After clicking the right symbols in the correct order, interact with the vase and you'll notice that there's a key in there. The next step is opening the locked cupboard in the pets area. However, our protagonist can't see a keyhole, so we need do it ourselves drag the (KEY) file in (HALL) > (VASE) to (SHOP) > (CUPBOARDS). Click on the cupboards and the protagonist will notice that its unlocked now. But we still need to do everything ourselves, so move the contents to the phone room drag the (BODY) file to (HALL) > (BACKROOM).

You did it...? The game will restart.

The Missing Piece

Do the usual thing and make the call.

We need something else in order to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again. The hint when the game restarted was something about the owner's pet fish and light. Well, if you interact the vase again, our protagonist will notice that there's a goldfish in there. What do you do with it?: drag the (〇〇〇) text file in the game folder into (HALL) > (VASE) with the fish to make it interact with the light from the rings.

A new location will be revealed. Explore it to eventually find a pot for a plant. How do we plant a seed? Drag the (SEED) file from the (FRONT) > (SHELF) into (OFFICE) > (=) > (GARDEN) > (POT). If you don't see the seed file, make sure to interact with the shop front in the game to make it appear in the folder.

Interact with the pot and then the plant. Our protagonist will try to climb it, and won't be able to do much. But you can. The (HEART) file will reveal itself in the (↑) folder next to the (POT).

The rest should be pretty simple: Get the (BODY) file like last time and place it with the (HEART) file in the room with the phone.

Make the phone call one more time and enjoy the ending.

To get the last Steam achievement, annoy the new shopkeeper by continuing to play after the game restarts. Keeping doing it until the achievement pops up. Be sure to watch the credits every time to make sure it counts.

For people having trouble finding the body at the end, just put the vase puzzle code in again and you'll get the key. Drag it back to the cupboard and it'll be open, allowing you to move the body to the telephone room with the heart!

As a small note to other people struggling with the "Find the Key" puzzle: depending on your font (and dark/light mode) the colours might be inverted from what you'd expect from your text file. So make sure to try the exact opposite as well!

Yeah, I wasn't sure that I explained the vase puzzle very well, but the "filled circle" is essentially a normal circle as opposed to the "empty" doughnut-looking circle.

However, it seems like the solution might be random for every player, so I'll have to update that part.
